Of course the decision lies with you, but I don't see what that has do with what I am talking about. The point I am trying to convey is we have too many people that get their jollies by sticking their nose into other's business. Yes, yes, I know it occurs on both sides of the aisle, which I mentioned in another thread. In this case, we have a church, which is a private organization, who disagreed with the BSA's decision regarding homosexuality. They are now taking action based on their disagreement. What are they getting in return? Mockery, hate speech, demonization, etc... My question is why? Are people's lives so boring that they have nothing better to do than to concern themselves with the actions of some podunk Alabama church? As I stated in an earlier thread, and you mentioned in this one, we would be much better off if everyone minded their own business. If an individual or organization didn't like the BSA's original stance on homosexuality, well... that is tough. Perhaps they should have started their own similar organization that was all inclusive. Are they that special that they felt it was incumbent upon them to change the BSA? I would argue they are not, and we would all have been much better off if they just shrugged it off and went about their business. Now that BSA has changed its stance, people should be free to disassociate themselves with BSA if they don't like it without the aforementioned attacks. If BSA had been a public institution, my views would be different.

Anti-Muslim Speech Can Be Punished
mav replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It is too bad we are now living with so much political correctness. That man should be fired immediately. -
You are correct, it does go both ways. However, this situation is not applicable. An individual or group of individuals didn't like the original BSA policy, so through government and media influence they attacked BSA and coerced them into changing their policy. Now that the BSA has changed their policy, some individuals and organizations have left or they have decided to no longer associate themselves with the BSA. What is now happening to them? They are being attacked for standing behind their prinicples. It is easy to see which side has been the aggressor.

I have often found it amazing how the supposedly "tolerant" people are actually some of the most intolerant people on the planet. Here we have a small church, which I would be willing to bet that close to 100% of their congregation disapprove the BSA's decision on homosexuals, stand on their principles. At one time in this country, people who were unwavering on their principles/convictions were respected. Today, it is totally different. If your view or belief is not in sync with the latest pop culture, you are mocked, ridiculed, demonized, and if you are of a certain political affiliation, you are targeted by the IRS. I guess in reality those that cry tolerance are really only tolerant if you accept their viewpoint.

I never thought I would want one of these...

Nice knife. -
Since I should be closing within the next 10 days, I decided not to go. I knew if I went that I would spend a stupid amount of money on stuff I really didn't need. However, just because I didn't go doesn't mean I didn't get something from the show. :) A guy I work with was down there on Friday, and I asked him to pick something up for me. I will post it Monday when I get it.

I have only been into firearms about the last three or four years. My first was a Five Seven, and I still own it. It is one that I doubt I will ever get rid of.

I have started listening to Enya again. Her music is incredibly beautiful and so relaxing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgErQp7b8KI

It took me a while to break down and buy a XM-24. Was it worth it? It is a great knife and built like a tank, but it is not worth the secondary market price. I doubt I will get rid of it, but I won't buy anymore either for several reasons I won't mention. I just hope the Yuna Assassin will be worth it. It will be my first custom knife and my most expensive knife purchase. So far I haven't ran across anything that beats a Sebenza in regards to overall quality. They aren't very tactical, but they sure are great knives.

Didn't know that about the 200. Always wondered why it was cheaper. Anyway, I had a 350 that didn't flip worth a crap. I made about a 1/16 - 1/32 of a turn and it fired as it should. I assume the same should be the case for the non-assisted. My XM-24 took a ton of work (thousands of flips) to get to the point of flipping fast. I have no idea about when the 600 is supposed to ship. I am still waiting on my 777, which I doubt I will ever get.

Just ever so slightly loosen the tension and it should be fine. From time to time, ZT's assisted flippers can be a little bit tight. If you stay in the ZT buying mode, you can always look at the ZT0500. It is a great knife, but they are a little hard to come by since they are discontinued.

Looks to me like a couple of broken legs too. Last words going through their mind, "Oh s***."

I finally found a 7" Green Beret at a great price. I got it yesterday, and will post some pics when it arrives. I also found the Kathathus I have been looking for. Unfortunately they are way more than I want to pay. The individual has three out of the four knife set and is asking $7k for them. I would love to have them, but not that bad. Anyway, he will never get that much anyway. I figure he might get around $4 - 4.5k for them.
-
If they ever come out, the next go to knife is the ZT 0600 collaboration with RJ Martin.
-
Oh, there is no comparison between the 300 and 350. I have five different 350s, but none of them get carried. I do carry the 300.

Do you really need to change your oil every 3,000 miles?
mav replied to Volzfan's topic in General Chat
My Accord gets changed every 7 - 8k miles. It must be doing okay because I have 220k miles on my 06 Accord. -
I would disagree with you on that point. Abortion is an entirely different matter. I won't expound further as I do not want to turn this into an abortion debate.
-
The 300 is just a beast. I have beat the crap out of mine and it is still fantastic. You have two of the best from the ZT Line.

Marco Rubio On Hannity Last Night discussing Immigration
mav replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
What a politician says and what is actually in the bill are most of the time contradictory. The bill will do neither of those items you mentioned. Basically, Rubio is full of ****, and I am not from the round 'em up crowd. -
I won't disagree as I do understand that this entire situation had nothing to do with gays or religion. This was a political attack by the left against mainstream/traditional America, and I believe the BSA made an enormous mistake in caving to the political pressure and changing its stance. Those that engaged in the attack on the BSA, well..., I cannot put into words the contempt I have for these people. Back to the original point I was trying to make. Right and left leaning social groups (busybodies) have for years used the power of the media and government, legislative and judicial, to force their agenda or viewpoint upon others. What they have unknowingly done is open Pandora's box, which is government involvement. Now, we are engaged in this perpetual culture war, and the biggest losers will be traditional Americans like me who want nothing more than to be left alone. The only way I can see out of these situations is to shrink the government. As I stated earlier, we just have too many people in this country who somehow think they are special, and want to stick their nose into other's people business and try to conform people into their way of thinking. Unfortunately, this will never change, so the only way to combat these people is by shrinking the government to the point that it will not be able to engage in such matters, which will render the busybodies powerless.

Marco Rubio On Hannity Last Night discussing Immigration
mav replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Is he becoming a RINO? No, he already was one with a just a little more polish. -
I think the entire problem stems from having way too many busybodies in this country. There are so many, on both sides of the aisle, that want to force each other to accept their viewpoint as the correct one. What happened to people just minding their own damn business? Seems to me that we all would be much better off if we did that very thing. If you are a religious person and an individual or organization's behavior, practices, or whatever offends you, tough ****. Unless it somehow impedes your ability to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, close your mouth and move on. The same thing can be said of those in the minority status. If some organization doesn't accept your kind, bfd, wash your hands of them and go about your business.

I don't ride my road bike as much as I do the mountain bike that I got last year. Mountain biking is so much fun at times that you don't realize you are actually getting some exercise.

There is a fairly large Amish community in Ethridge, TN. I am sure you could get the real deal there.

I bought a $4,000 moisture balance off ebay. I have had several large purchases on ebay (paid with Paypal) with no problems. One of our salesmen bought his truck off ebay.
