  1.   There is a difference between believing in Christ, even truly believing in Him (whatever that means), and recognizing and accepting Christ as one's savior.  I don't want to turn this into a theology debate as this is not the proper forum, but there is a lot more to than just believing in Christ.
  2. I ran into some the other day, and got absolutely nailed by one. It kept stinging me and digging that stinger deeper. Here is a pic of the hole it left in my arm. It hurt like hell initially and then itched for several days. (edit) - honey bee my ass. :)
  3. I eat the same thing for breakfast everyday, Frosted Mini-Wheats (no milk) and a glass of orange juice.
  4.   Not all indigent people are worthless scumbags like the one who rented that house, but there are a lot who are.  The problem is how do you know.  I read a lot of the comments people posted saying how stupid the guy was for renting the property out through Section 8.  More than likely that was the only people who would go live in that area due to the crime rate, so he really didn't have a choice.   I find it amazing that the government was sending the landlord over $1k a month, and the tenant was only having to pay $53 a month.  I know a bunch of hard-working middle class people who receive no government assistance, and they would be hard pressed to come up with $1k for rent.  It is an absolute shame that our government is so irresponsible with the taxpayer's money.   I am not exactly sure how Section 8 works, but I hope there is something in place were the landlord can report this tenant, and she becomes ineligible for any kind of housing assistance in the future.  My view is that if someone is so irresponsible when they are receiving such generous taxpayer assistance, then they should be cut off and forced to provide for themselves.
  5. Had another one today, but I wasn't so lucky this time.    I have been working clearing underbrush the past week or so.  As I was working on chopping down one of these prickly little pines near the root, I felt these mild stinging pains.  I didn't pay much attention as I thought it was just the tree digging into my arm.  Next thing I know, HOLY S***,  it felt like a bunch of pins being stuck into my arm.  I pulled out my arm and rolled it over and saw a bunch of yellow jackets on my arm.  I dropped my tomahawk and started running while knocking them off my arm.  Apparently, there was a yellow jacket nest near the tree root.   It has been forever since I have been stung by a bee, but them lil' sumbitches hurt and they leave the stingers and part of their body attached to it.  My arm hurt for several hours.  Thankfully there was no swelling.
  6. Signed, but it won't do any good.  Republicans won't defund Obamacare.  They won't kill it because they need to keep it as the central issue of their 2014 and 2016 reelection campaigns.   I can see the solicitations now.   "Obamacare is destroying this country, and it has to be defunded/repealed.  This will be the most important election of our lives, and we have to keep committed conservatives like Senator X or Representative X in office.  Please send your generous contribution so that we can defund/repeal this monstrosity, and return freedom to the American people."   My answer.  F*** them.  They should have never let it get this far in the first place.
  7. Its a good thing the CBC is colorblind or they would have recommended someone based solely on skin tone.   Oh, wait a sec.  Hmm, nevermind.
  8. I am not throwing out Rand yet.  He is way better than others the media has mentioned as potential candidates, and somewhat equal with Cruz.  I believe what we are seeing with Rand is political posturing.  He could do like his father and promote his inflexible principles, and the end result would be about the same; he would lose easily.   Unless it is Cruz or Paul, I will not be voting GOP for 2016.  To hell with the rest of them.
  9. My first couple of questions would be what was he taking, and how much was he taking.  Is it possible that steroids could have pushed him over the edge?  Maybe, but I highly doubt it.  I think what we had here was a sexually-frustrated asshole with anger management issues, nothing more.
  10. I have both a MKIII Hunter and Model 41.  I did a review on it somewhere around here.  I pretty much agree with everything graycrait has stated.  I replaced all my internals with VQ parts and changed out the grips, which I also feel is a must.  The modified trigger still isn't as nice as the 41, but it is pretty darn good.  It is good enough to be incredibly accurate with it.  I would also add that the MKIII is less ammo finicky when compared to the Model 41.   As far as field stripping goes, yes it is a PITA the first couple of times.  Once you have done it a few times, it is incredibly easy and requires no hammer or any other tool to disassemble.
  11. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/huds-new-fair-housing-rule-establishes-diversity-data-every-neighborhood-us     The way I understood the article is the federal government wants to fix the less than desirable areas of a community/city by giving subsidies, grants, etc... to those who may not otherwise be able to afford to move out of that area.  Where is the fairness in that?  Call me racist, but this is seriously ****ed up.
  12. Jobs, is that the three letter word Biden reders to?
  13. And the really bad news is we are stuck onboard with them.
  14. Does he still have an audience?
  15.   Yeah, I thought that was a little interesting.  The other link I posted (the one with a lot more feedback) sold last night.  I just figured someone on here might want one for standard price since I have seen people paying up to $550 for them.
  16. Won't last long.  Better hurry.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zero-Tolerance-Knives-ZT-0600-Folding-Knife-Limited-Edition-/281138354058?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item417526d78a   Another one,   http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZERO-TOLERANCE-New-R-J-Martin-0600-Flipper-Carbon-Fiber-B75P-Blade-Knife-Knives/380680744678?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D261%26meid%3D9171601380063116074%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D281138354058%26
  17. Congrats on your first ZT.  If you consider another, I would seriously look at the ZT0300 if you don't mind big knives.  Outside of some of their limited editions, I think the ZT0300 is the best of their standard line.   Don't let the size of the 300 deter you; it carries very well.  I have no problem carrying mine, and most of the time I don't realize I have it in my pocket.
  18. TN Black Caucus, who gives a $hit what they think?  I certainly don't, and I won't loose a wink of sleep over their ramblings.
  19.   I can't stand O'Reilly.  About the only time I can watch his show is if he has Napolitano or Stossel on as a guest.  They will school him on some topic, and then he always so condescendingly responds, "Let me tell you why you are wrong."  What a jerk.
  20. Shouldn't he be suing Al Gore instead of Apple since it was Gore who created the internet, thus making the online porn industry possible?
  21.   Honestly, do you really think that is the best way to approach things?  I think the better approach would have been to do what you stated previously, ignore their posts.  If personal attacks are being made, inform the moderator, that is one of the reasons they are present.  If I am not mistaken, TGODavid stated that no personal attacks will be tolerated.   Having people suggest physical violence as a means to solve a dispute is not really a forum I would want to participate in.  Would you?
  22.   Nah, I think the Antichrist would know there aren't 57 states with a few more to go.  :)
  23. Speaking of Comcast, let me tell you my recent experience with them.   As some may have seen from earlier threads I posted, I recently purchased a new house, and have been in the process of moving.  During the moving process, I wanted to transfer my cable and upgrade to the faster internet and add phone service as well.  I called Comcast on June 25 to upgrade and transfer my service.  I was told that the install would be performed on the 1st.  Come the 1st, I waited at my house during the proper time and nobody ever showed up.  I was pretty ticked at this point so I called Comcast to see what was going on.  I was told that my appointment time had been changed to the 8th.  Strike one.  I complained that it does not take two weeks to transfer service, and asked why I wasn't informed of the date change.  I asked to speak to a supervisor, and  I was informed that a supervisor was unavailable, but one would call me back shortly.  I never received a call.  Strike two.   Come the next day I had still not receive a call from Comcast, but I did receive a letter in the mail from Comcast stating that because of my credit rating I would be required to put down a deposit or prepay for services.  When I read that letter I was absolutely fuming.  There is no chance in hell Comcast checked my credit.  If they did, they would have seen that my credit was perfect ( I just purchased a relatively nice house and got the lowest possible rate available).  To rub salt in the wound, I had been a Comcast customer for 20 years, and I was actually rewarding them by increasing my service.  Strike three.   At this point I was still begrudgingly continuing with Comcast.  However, I received a call the next day from Comcast demanding that I immediately return all of my equipment.  After everything I had been through at this point, that was strike four.  I hadn't dropped Comcast, but based on a phone call I had with them later, they had dropped me for some inexplicable reason.  When I was told they had mistakenly dropped me, I told them to keep it that way, and then went on a tirade by stating that Comcast employed some absolute morons.   The next day I went by our local Comcast branch to return my equipment.  They were very apologetic and were shocked at how a simple transfer could get so screwed up.  I was told that I should have went by the local branch to begin with, and that you never know who you are going to get on their 888 number.  Anyway, I switched to EPB, which isn't in your area, and I have been on it since Friday.  So far I have been very pleased with everything, and the internet, which is the only thing I am concerned about, is smoking fast.   I never had any problems with Comcast until then, and they do offer some good services.  However, they employ some real chumps too that can totally screw things up.
  24.   I believe that this was their intention all along.  It is easier to control/manipulate people when you create groups and pit them against each other.
  25.   A few dozen?  We must read different news sources.  From what I read, protests were large enough to cause gridlock  in Manhattan (I will be waiting for the quip here), and protesters shut down a freeway in LA.   Even though I disagree with the protesters, I do believe they have the right to assemble and voice their grievance.  However, just because a group of individuals disagree with this decision, they have no right to interfere in the daily activities of others.
