Well....  I have finally come to a conclusion in regards to the Obama/Putin verbal sparing.  Since most of us agree with what Putin wrote, and vehemently disagree with own feckless leader's incoherent ramblings, I have concluding that we must be racist.  Damn shame.

Please don't forget to add those war-mongering asses, McCain and Graham, to the list as well.  Hell, if they had their way, our troops would be fighting along side the rebels.

He says all the right things.  However, I don't trust him for one damn minute, and Obama has proven himself to be a total dumbass, so in essence, we, the American people, are ****ed.

Very funny.  That seriously sounds like something I would have done in my younger days.  I will admit that some time back in my 20s, I was getting tired of long nose hair.  Instead of using a trimmer like most normal people, I did the absolute dumbest thing in my life.  I stuck a Bic lighter under my nose, lit it, and tired to inhale the flame.  Yeah, I got rid of the nose hair, but that was the worst pain I have experienced.  It instantaneously brought tears to my eyes, and spent the next few minutes trying to drown myself in the sink by trying to get cold water up my nose.

What is your favorite sports-themed movie(s)?   I have always enjoyed Rudy even though I have never liked Notre Dame.  I am sure everyone is familiar with that one.  My other favorites you may have never heard of.  They are:   Wind http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105824/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 and   American Flyers http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088707/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 .   There is a lot of 80s and 90s cheese in both movies, but I love them.  I have the soundtrack on both of these, and they are awesome.

  Lester, do you know of a specific Christian charitable organization that has adopted the "No Jesus, No Food" policy?  I hear this often, but I don't buy it.  Turning away someone in need because they did not want to hear anything about Jesus is really antithetical to the Christian belief.   I have no problem with my tax dollars going to a religious-based charity.  They most certainly will do a better job with the money than the government, who can really only give out cards which might end up paying for boob jobs, big screen tvs, drugs, etc...

Has anyone else noticed the pattern?  The only time I ever see the phrase, separation of church and state,  used by the guv or left leaning individuals is when it focused on Christianity.   Now that this story has gotten national attention via Fox News, I am certain the mission will do better without the government.  Its too bad that we, as Christian taxpayers, can't tell the government without penalty, "No freedom to exercise our faith?  No money (cheese) for you."

  There is no telling with this administration.  One thing I do know is that Obama's mouth has portrayed him to be the biggest wussified beta male on the planet.  I believe this administration is desperate for Congress to vote no on the resolution, which I hope they do, so they can get out from under this mess.  If this happens, Obama can blame it all on Congress and then go back to talking tough.  To Assad, "You are lucky Congress held me back, or I was going to personally come over there and kick your ass." 

Most of my adult life was spent living in an apartment, so I never had a need for any outdoor power equipment, and I have never used any outside of a push mower and trimmer.  I now have a house with a few wooded acres, so I needed everything. Now that I have acquired all my new toys, I have been itching to do yard work this week.    I started the week on my new tractor.  Compared to what I was doing with a push mower, the tractor was a godsend.  Using the backpack blower to clean off my driveway and patio was pretty neat.  I even put it on the back of my 78 year old mother, and she was having fun with it.  It was much more fun than using a broom.    Next was trimming the hedges.  I have 12 fairly sizeable hedges (boxwoods, hollies, etc...) in the front of my house, and it was a breeze trimming them with the hedge trimmer.  The results were awesome (perfectly level).   This evening's job was pruning-off dead branches with my pole saw and chainsaw.  Pruning with the pole saw was fun, but the Stihl pole saw I have is a little heavy and hard to balance it right when it is extended out to 15 feet.  I was having so much fun with my chainsaw, I wanted to cut everything.  In the end, I was left with a rather large brush pile.    My mom started carrying off the branches to a cleared area where I would run them through my wood chipper.  I told her to stop, and said there was an easier way.  A few minutes later I came out with my tractor with the attached dump cart.  I had a blast just hauling off the brush pile, especially when it got dark and I got to use the lights on my tractor.   I know I must sound like a nut, but all of the outdoor power equipment is brand new to me, and I am having fun learning how to use all of it.  No, the fun I am having does not translate into me coming over to do yard work for you.  :)

I went to DC several years back while on my way to NY.  I am glad I stopped as it was a really neat place, and definitely worth seeing.  Now that I have seen it, I doubt I will ever go back.

I finally got my permit in the mail.  It took 53 days for a simple address change.

Mav, short for maverick.  It has nothing to do with the NBA or John McCain, both of which I can't stand.  Early in my working career some of my bosses called me that as I tend to make up my own mind and do my own thing.  Also, it was the call sign of Tom Cruise's character in my favorite movie when I was a kid.

I just got through cutting my grass on my new JD X320 (not inexpensive, but not a bank breaker either) that I picked up from Homestead Tractor.  Sheesh, it was a pleasure cutting grass.  I didn't break a sweat.  When I was push mowing it, I always looked like I just jumped in a pool.  While it is not as fast as a zero turn, it is fast enough for me, and it worked great on my hill.    Hopefully I made a good choice.  And yes, my grass looks better now that it is being taken care of.  :)

I went today.  It was a good way to waste $10 in 20 minutes.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder how many crimes involving firearms have been committed by individuals sitting around in public sipping coffee with their firearms resting on a table or the ground for everyone to see.  My guess would be that it has probably never happened.  Upon witnessing such an incident, I can't understand someone's mindset (outside of being an anti-gun busybody) where they freak out "Oh my God! He has a gun!", and call the police.

  I already had all the hand tools to fill it.  Thank goodness too.

Well... I opted for a tractor instead of a zero turn. When I got the tractor I decided to get the rest of the stuff I needed, which was a chainsaw, pole saw, new trimmer, edger, backpack blower, and a hedge trimmer. I also picked this up this evening for $280. Price seemed pretty reasonable, and it looks brand new, so I got it. The last thing I need is a pressure washer. Next year: reloading gear. :)

It is not the life for me, but I admire those that do it.  It is great knowledge and skills to have.

  Oh, I wasn't running.  I was on my mountain bike.   The only I reason I created this thread was because I was talking to a friend of mine this morning about general fitness and she told me I was in better shape than a lot of people half my age.  I thought this incident was an affirmation of what she told me.  It just made me feel good.    As far as the pep talk and encouraging them to finish, I hate seeing people give up especially when they are over the hump.  Just dig a little deeper and finish it.  They always feel better when they do, and oftentimes people are amazed at what they did.
