  1. I was using The Pretenders - My City was Gone or the Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin'. Now, I believe silence is golden, so I just use the vibrate function.
  2. I am still curious on this whole 1911 break-in period. I have owned several 1911s, and I have never had to "break one in." Congrats, by the way, on your new 1911. Kimber makes a fine 1911. I owned two of them with zero problems.
  3. While I'm not very large in stature (6.1, 180), I make it up in
  4. Well, from what I have seen from the forum, we certainly have a lot of people here that need help, psychologically speaking of course.
  5. Well, I guess I will be the party pooper of the bunch. I went to Lambert's back when I went to Gulf Shores. I did not like it. The food was okay. I would recommend it for the novelty of the restaurant. I think it is a really good place to take your family if you have young kids. I think they would enjoy it. It was definitely an interesting experience, but I guess it just isn't my scene.
  6. That is a Nighthawk Custom T3 that I got from Hero Gear. I was carrying a Kimber Ultra Raptor, but I didn't really like the alloy frame and it was just too small for my taste. So, I went to Hero Gear and traded my two Kimbers + some money for the T3. I really like it. Note: those aren't the original grips. I did not like the alien grips on the T3, so I swapped them out for some thin Nighthawk aluma grips.
  7. He has more hair.
  8. I thought Jackie Gleason was great as Buford T Justice. I saw that, you sumb*tch! I'm gonna barbeque yo'ass in molasses. Buford T. Justice: Nobody, and I mean NOBODY makes Sheriff Buford T. Justice look like a possum's pecker. Junior: Except for that... Buford T. Justice: Shut your ass. There's no way, no way that you came from my loins. Soon as I get home, first thing I'm gonna do is punch yo mamma in da mouth!
  9. Very nice. Love those grips.
  10. My name is Eric. Don't have many pictures of myself. I found this one on my computer which was taken when I was visiting my brother up in NYC.
  11. This is what I am normally carrying everyday. The Benchmade is about to be replaced; it has been totally abused. I don't carry the Microtech around town, but I do carry it while I am in GA at work. I still don't understand TN knife laws. I can carry a gun, but not an automatic knife. I usually alternate between which watch I wear. It is usually either my Omega Seamaster or Omega X-33 (my favorite watch).
  12. Being very new to the forum and not knowing anybody from Adam, I didn't know if I should contribute or not. I ended up contributing for two reasons. First, with economy in the toliet and high unemployment rate, I know people are really hurting this year. Secondly, based upon what I have read on several threads since I joined this forum (Punisher84's Firefighting thread being the most recent example) is that this forum has people of character. So in short, I'm with you fellas.
  13. Just out of curiousity, what is the record for the longest thread with the most posts in the shortest time period?
  14. I have some double mag pouches from Uncles Mikes, Blackhawk, and Blade-Tech. I prefer Blade-Tech, but they are also the most expensive. I don't think there is anything wrong with Uncle Mikes, and they are quite a bit cheaper.
  15. I don't know which is really better. I like both. I can rate them on different categories. Price: Carter's ($150 vs. $250 for their best membership packages) Location: Shooter's definitely, 58 hwy sucks Hours of operation: Depends on when you like to shoot. Weekends: Carter's (open on Sunday and till 7 on Saturday), Weekdays: Shooters (open till 8 with $250 membership) Lighting: Shooter's Number of lanes that work: Shooter's (both have 6 lanes, but some of Carter's target hangers are always broken) Small Crowd: Overall I would say Carter's, but it depends on when you like to shoot. Many times I am the only person on range at Carter's. Ventiliation: Shooter's Parking: Shooter's without question Friendliness of staff: Same, I like all of them Range distance: Carter's (23 yd vs 15 yd) Appearance of the facility (how nice it is): Shooter's definitely The ability to go bats**t crazy if you are on the range by yourself: Carter's, without question. I plan on taking advantage of this when I get more into Comp or SD-type shooting. So, each one of them has their strengths. I will maintain my membership at both ranges. While I really like Carl at Sportsman Supply, I doubt I will renew my membership when it is up at the end of the year. Carl has the nicest range imho. However, his hours stink, his range price is too high ($125 for 11.5 hours, then another $100 for an additional 11.5 hours), he is too rigid when it comes to what you can do in the range (drawing from a holster is not allowed), and I have heard that he plans on retiring next year.
  16. Hey, thanks for the offer. I've never been to Prentice mainly because I have yet to buy a rifle. I know they have a pistol range too, but I prefer the indoor range with handguns. When I buy a rifle next year, I will take you up on the offer. I don't know if you are a member to any of the indoor ranges. If not and you want to go try them out just give me a buzz and I can bring you as my guest. I am a member of Carl's, Carter's, and Shooter's.
  17. I know the NRA is a single issue advocacy group. I understand the arguments they make when endorsing a politician who is good on one issue (2nd ammendment). However, I think it sucks as well considering the politician they are endorsing may have sucked on every other issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIA5wEC-eu8&feature=player_embedded
  18. Same bag I use. It was very cheap and holds a ton of stuff. The strap isn't very comfortable if you have it loaded down though.
  19. Glad I found this thread. I was about to start one asking for a good set of electronic ear muffs. I have the Peltor 6S tactical. I don't like them for a different reason than I have seen posted. I don't think they are comfortable. Are the 7s more comfortable?
  20. I will be buying Fallout New Vegas this month. Am I the only pc gamer here? I noticed most people mentioned x-box or ps.
  21. I will be at home most of the day, and then I will probably get bored and go to Carter's in the afternoon and do some shooting as well. Sounds like a typical Sunday for me.
  22. Really cool. Sure the heck beats my job. I get to stay in the lab all day trying not to blow up anything in my face, which actually happened three weeks ago (had way too much going on and wasn't paying attention to what I was doing), trying to figure out how someone in the plant people screwed up a reaction, and arguing with the sales staff. I still haven't figured out why they think that just because I have a degree in chemistry that I am supposed to know all things related to chemistry. The pay is halfway decent, but it sure does suck at times. Nice video. What the heck was that thing that looked like a dancing thread of jelly? A sea ccucmber?
  23. The Glock 34's trigger isn't bad at all. However, I just got in my Vanek classic grandmaster trigger yesterday. Geeze louise, the trigger is as good as some of my high end 1911s. It does have a pretravel adjustment on it, but I am too afraid to mess with it since I will be affecting the Glock safety.
  24. Is it just me, or do you think Gretchen Carlson is just hot?
  25. I was carrying Winchester Black Talon 230 sxt. One of our salesman had sold all of his .45s and he had a bunch of boxes of the Black Talon which he sold to me for $10 a box. I shot up one box to make sure the ammo was still good. I saw on Gun Broker that some people have been paying like $40 a box for this ammo so I quit carrying it and started carrying either Remington Golden Sabre 230 or Remington HD Ultimate Home Defense.
