    Taurus PT92

PT92 was my first handgun in the early 90's. still a part of my collection today and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
  4. Precision firearms in Seymour and Sevier Indoor Range in Sevierville are good people as well as Mike at Austin's Tennessee Firearms in Oak Ridge.
  5. If you have a chance, look into the Taurus 709.
  6. Combat Handguns
  7. Sevier Indoor Range mostly.
  8. Read alot about both from the web while researching. The reliability for the TCP did have me concerned but I own three Tauri including a 92 that i have put thousands of rounds through in the 15+ years I've owned it without a single problem. After holding both, the TCP just felt better for my grip, combined with locking back after the last round and that was what I bought. The first time I shot it I put two boxes of WWB through it and started having an issue with a failure to feed/locking back after the fifth round (6-rd mag). I statrted doing 2-shot magazines halfway through the first box and must have ended up with 20 failures. For five shots it was everything I hoped for and more; accurate at seven meters, not that bad of a recoil for a small 10-oz pocket gun, trigger was very smooth, etc. I went back to the range the next week and put about another box and a half of PMC through it at 2-rounds per with only one failure. Most will say that these guns need about 200 rounds to break them in and I will see how accurate that is on my next trip. FWIW, there has been an issue early on with this type of failure and Taurus must have addressed it as the two mags that came with it both seemed to be altered after the fact.
  9. I was camping in Cades Cove last week and did notice that the gift shop there, next to the bike rental, was posted.
  10. Thanks all for the "welcomes". I see that Seymour is very well represented here. Seymour Range day sounds great. I try to get to SIR as often as I can but sometimes it ain't that often.
  11. Picked up my 709 at SIR back in March and have over 500 rounds through it with no problems. Love the trigger and was very surprised by how easy it was to handle for as small and light as it is (19oz I think) .
  12. Hey all from the new guy on the block. I enjoy shooting and discussing handguns so from what I've seen to date, this seems like the perfect place. Retired military but I still miss it everyday. I have enjoyed guns since I mowed yards all summer, when I was 9, to buy a H&R 410 shotgun. Currently own six handguns (working on 7), my favorite being my M&P 40.
