  1. Most 3 gun matches require you to use a bottleneck rifle cartridge. These days with ammo being so expense some clubs make exceptions particularly for new shooters. There is no advantage to shooting 9mm except a little cost. If you plan to get a rifle for gaming, longer barrels and gas systems are an advantage. I won’t bore you with my preference just look at what the Pros use….
  2. I thought you were just trying to keep out the Rift Raft.....
  3. I dare you... Maybe the weather will be good and my fair weather self can drag it out there....
  4. Planning to make this match if the weather forecast holds.
  5. Take a look at this thread. Test Fired the new AKDAL MKA-1919 today - Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo! I have shot one and they are pretty neat...
  6. Is this a reoccurring or special event? If they plan to continue you might post a thread in the competition forum. MC
  7. The question will be is this going to be one of those FEW times ???? I believe our last shotgun meetup didn't work out so well for you. Unfortunately I can't say the same for rifle..... I'm just hoping the Sun God is with us so we can find out. The current forecast of 27-41 degrees sounds cold for office guys like us ..........
  8. DaG, Those are some excellent times.... You can't tell it from this thread but pending some good weather there may be several of us from Middle TN. Any luck with the COFs?
  9. BTT I may have to borrow it for a test run at least. I have so much time and money invested in the Weak hand Caddy method it would be tough to switch. I wish the equipment had been more available a few years ago since it looks much easier to learn and maintain. Won't be long now... If we can have some weather on the 10th like we had yesterday we'll be in business.....
  10. It sounds good except the "a stage that will be an unloaded start and remain seated while shooting" I don't mind an unloaded start but I don't know about the load and shoot seated idea. Sounds like the stage designer got a new chest rig to load from;)
  11. DaG, Are you itching to try out your new reloading method and decide to set up a match to try it out...? I don't want to be a fair weather friend but if the weather is decent maybe me and a couple other Middle TN guys can road trip it up there and check it out. Do you have any plans of posting the stages ahead of time? Later, Mike
  12. I'm planning on it .....
  13. DaG, Reloads are looking good...
  14. Are you sure you don't mean 4 rounds in 4 seconds as a baseline? I don't think even the best are breaking the 4 second barrier with 8 rounds weakhand out of the carriers.
  15. I have Faith and Believe I'm going to make it !!! In addition I went to the Chiropractor Friday and plan to go Monday and have been spending a lot of time on ice. I plan on being up there Wednesday night.
  16. Looks like yall had a pretty good turn out. I can't believe I threw my back out and had to miss it:(
  17. For those new to IMG read 27 x 2 = 54 + Makeups unless your shooting Major or really worried about the ammo cost and planning to really aim and make all A Hits which can be done.....
  18. I would say there is little chance of that but maybe I can get them in a stage or two again. The only reason I'm shooting Pro is because I'm working it. My pockets aren't that deep.... I'm planning on making it to Dickson for the warmup, you need to drag it out R&WF.
  19. Shotgun - Know how to load it and load it fast. Rifle - Know your zero and shoot it accurate. Pistol - Just shoot it fast... During the stage carry everything you need and nothing you don't. Good Luck
  20. Is the 7/10/11 Match Still on ? Thinking about taking the road trip this month....
  21. Tim, What software are you using to create the stage layouts? Thanks, Mike
  22. I don't know if any of these meet your Mileage requirement but these are some of what we have available on this 5th Sat & 1st Sun Green River Gun Club Having a BUG Match or http://www.midtnshooters.com/ Having an IDPA Match or ORPCI SCHEDULE - Owensboro, Ky Having a 3 Gun Match or http://www.scssa.org/ Having a Carbine Match. Steel City is likely too far for you but they have a SUPER NICE range worth seeing sometime.
  23. John, Tell us more about the "loosely following the provisional IDPA multi-gun rules" Does this mean scoring only or most everything in the rule book. I got hung up on the first page... Thanks, Mike " No “competition only†equipment is permitted in IDPA 3 Gun matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of the individual, not equipment or gamesmanship."
  24. If you're looking for the "Best Competition Glock" you should update the choices and remove the G23 & G30 and Add the G17L , G24, G34 & G35. My vote is the G34 unless you load your own, then maybe the G35 if you want to play USPSA. Sight radius and mag capacity are your friends.....
  25. Are the MSSA "Steel" matches "Run and Gun" or " Stand and Shoot" steel ? Thanks, Mike
