Dogs need exercise, discipline and affection in that order. Give them those three things and with the rare exception that you got a dumb one they will do anything you want.

If I was starting over again from scratch on food I think I would put back at least 1 starter pack per person per month for everyone in my house until I got at least a year. It isn't everything but it is a great start and covers the basics. Starter Kit - LDS Online Store

Every cop I have talked to about that subject says the vast majority of those problems are on medicaid, see my earlier post about the gov creating problems. -

We used to live in a society where you really didn't need to do that. But that was when we used to shoot or at least really punish crime and before we started as a society raising criminals generations with welfare, food stamps and housing projects. Makes about as much sense as a farmer raising rabid dogs. -

People on both sides of this argument have said things I agree with and things I disagree with but this seems to be the truest statement I have seen yet. I have MANY close friends in law enforcement and I have never considered cops in any way the enemy. I have seen cops ( and all of us in various ways ) reacting to government created problems that ends up taking away all of our rights in order to try and give us some safety. It never works. My favorite example of looking at the big picture is the myth that our departments are understaffed. Weactually have too many cops , it is just that our prisons are undercrowded. -

They would rather work things towards the goal of being able to dictate exactly how we live with the excuse that it costs the gov money due to healthcare. -

Gunshot Heard Around the Gun Show

I think you are falling into the trap of believing a sign makes a difference. I am unmovable in my belief that every time a sign is posted I am in more danger. -

Is that pretty much department policy in Rutherford county ? I had heard some departments were pushing that way. -
Thanks Chip for not just completely dismissing where I was going from. Can a private business prevent any car with an airbag from entering their parking lot ? I am pretty sure that they would be toast in civil court if not criminal court as well. Then why do we all just lay down and accept it with firearms ? The reason it bothers me more is that I can't even find any mention of an airbag in the Constitution but I can find what is supposed to be a right to bear arms specified and I can also see a clear intent from our founders that it was not just something you could do but something that it was your duty to do as a citizen.

Another thing to consider that probably comes into play in these situations is that an officer can ask you for lots of things and if you agree then he can do it. He may or may not have the right to search your car but when he says do you mind if I search your car and you say sure go ahead you gave him that right. -
I do, I also have the right to do all those other things I listed in my house but a business owner does not.
-
You are right I guess it isn't guns only but it still makes no sense to me. See if any of the statements below work as a business owner. No hijabs allowed. No crutches allowed. All employees must remain topless while on the property. Speak English or leave. Speak Spanish or leave. Police officers must disarm and remove vests before entering. If a business owner has the right to tell me I can't carry my gun then they should also have to the right to do all those other things.
-
I guess I am terrible at making my point. I believe a private business should be just that. I believe as an owner if I want to do something at my business that either discriminates against or makes my employees or patrons less safe then it is my business and they can choose not to be there. The problem I see is that the only time that really applies is when it comes to firearms.
-
The supposed reason for most of those other requirements to have a business is safety. So it is generally recognized that even in a private business the owner has to do certain things for safety. Does anyone here actually believe you are safer having to leave your gun in the car , or in the case of certain employers having to leave it at home because you can't have the gun in their parking lot ?
-
Absolutely none ! But what right does the government have to tell me I have to have a rail on my stairs at work ?
-
No, not really, I don't have to have a beer license , liquor license, have my kitchen inspected regularly by the health department, have handicap parking or handicap restroom, marked fire exit's. I could go on but I think maybe you are starting to see where I am coming from. If it is your business and by god you dictate what happens in there then you wouldn't have to comply with all those things to stay in business.
-
So if it isn't rights then what does dictate what the owner of a private business can or can't do ? As a business owner can you tell the OSHA inspector that he isn't allowed inside ?
-
But can you really ? Can you say only people with Red hair can come in ? Can you say everyone must remove all their clothing at the door ? Heck could you say that everyone MUST carry a gun to come in ? Could you ask people to leave because they were speaking a foreign language ?
-
If it truly was that way then I would be fine with it but why is it ok for a private business to suspend some but not all of my rights ?
