I don't remember anything like that in the news or those saying nothing but good things.   I am not taking sides in this case.  probably enough wrong to go around to both sides.

I never let a door to door sales person past the door step and never accept a free sample.  I don't want to encourage them.   I do have a no soliciting sign and I didn't have to get that approved.  That was one of the few things I informed by better half about and she agreed. The sign stops most but not all.

Here in Oak Ridge, we have Security Police Vehicles.  They are security for Y12, I believe contractors.  I have never seen them do anything strange but I figure they don't have power away from the plant to conduct traffic stops.  If one were to try, I would probably just try to the police station and see how long they follow.  However, like I said, never seen them do anything away from the plant.

I am also concerned more that first the grade scavenger hunt had them looking for dead animals.   I think at this point, you should probably call the school board and ask wtf is going on.   Growing up in the country, I was both used too and understood finding dead animals.  However that isn't the point.

To me, batteries are the weak link.  Something like this just feeds the grid and slows down your meter some what. Batteries last 5-10 years I am seeing and they are expense.     However, with planning for a new roof in the not 2 distant future, any solar plan is off for now.
