  1. not a believer of haunting either, but there are stories passed down in my family probably like most other families.
  2. Police Scanner, but it seems it might be a re run.  another vehicle into another house.
  3. I thought the picture above was one of his ears for Mt. Rushmore.
  4. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those threads that never dies.   Guess I have to add a story to post.   One time, camping, Tony and I found an old Mack tire.   Well one thing leads to another and it was probably the hottest fire I ever built.  After it got going really good I had major concerns it was 2 close to a railroad bridge.   There was no putting it out with anything we had.  We was on a creek bank and kept dumping water on it trying to slow it down to little effect.   Fortunately the bridge was not burn.  There was no live plant life in a good sized circle around it.   My wife says all my good stories start with Tony and I. *he was at the silo as well*
  5. I heard about this but it seemed a while back.    This may be a different event, but back in July.   NNSA: Two Y-12 security police officers injured in accidental discharge of firearm   http://oakridgetoday.com/2013/07/28/nnsa-two-security-police-officers-injured-in-accidental-discharge-of-firearm/
  6. Kinda makes you hope he doesn't have a permit.
  7. I normally have a mix of 1 and 2 year old wood on hand.  I find 2 year old burns up a little to fast, but gives really quick heat.  1 year last longer but with a little less heat.   This thread reminds me, I need about another small load to be really ready.
  8. My wife tells me I should write a book.  Most of it was between the age 14 and 18, but continued until about 22.   (climbed a Coal Silo 210 feet up, that was still under construction.)  not once, but about 3 times over a weekend.  Up the side and along the belt line.
  9. I have been heating my home for the past 8 years or so with wood.  Even on the coldest nights I have no trouble keeping the house warm.   i
  10. Spots, if you do any metal detecting, that might be an interesting place to try.  There might be some other goodies in the area.   That is a hobby I would have liked to have got into but never knew good places to check.
  11. the only thing, in the video they said something about the volunteers that had pushed forward.   Is that just code for the enemy?
  12. I don't think that qualifies them for 72 virgins.
  13. it has been known for years now that if they want, they can remote into most phones, turn on mic and camera with out the user even knowing anything about it. Organized crime, err people of interest started removing the batteries from their phones when not in use.
  14. Don't laugh, a few years ago they carded my wife for superglue.  I was, WTH.
  15. I know one place he might as well not send a resume.
  16. Seriously, can't we just ban thumbtacks in school.  I believe If I was one of those poked I would want to bring criminal charges.  No telling what could have been transmitted from person to person.   What if someone had aids or something else and was afraid of having that come out.  Get another group infected and then just come out with that group as I don't know how I got it while causing 20 other people to also have it.
  17. Aim Surplus finally got in the zombie lower I wanted again.  too bad it happens to match up the TGO purchase.    http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1STSLZOMBIE&name=Spike%27s+Tactical+Multi.+Cal.+Zombie+AR+Receiver&groupid=722
  18. question.  I don't think I have seen this but someone I know suggested another route.   Is it possible to built them into 308/7.62×51mm NATO?  if so, pros/cons?   I am thinking no but I don't have a 308 shell in the house to even compare sizes. I believe there would be too much of a size difference.
  19. I believe people fall for that, just because of the dumb things users do.  I deal with allot of PC id10ts every day.   However, it is not limited to computers/phones. I know a lady that works at a metal recycling place that buys old cars.  People call her to ask how much a car/truck might weight and they often want to add the color as if that might matter.
  20. I am going to say yes.   I have killed deer less then 80 pounds and they were certainly some of the best.   BTW, we have only weighed one deer that I killed and it was 6 point I got over at Chuck Swan and it was a 6 point, 76 pound (field dressed) deer.
  21. My wife didn't like it when I referred to the 2 fawns as Tender & Loin.
