  1. Another WW2 vet lost.   I did not personally know this man but had met him a few times at Walmart.  I never got to know him beyond the smile,  hi, and thank you.   I wish I had got to know him.  I never new he was a vet.     http://knoxvillenews.tn.newsmemory.com/publink.php?shareid=11f348afd0       In my life, I have met 2 people that fought at Iwo Jima, one when I was so young 4-5 I really didn't understand until years later what he was talking about and Frank Lloyd Pryor that I never got to know.  I only learned about his past after he passed.   Just felt like sharing this.  (I found out this morning before work when I first went to Walmart and they had a memorial right at the door he normally worked at. ) I have to give it to Walmart that I feel they did a good thing to honor him.
  2.   Sounds like me, I get lost in youtube land and one click leads to another and I keep finding my self on the wrong side of the internet wondering how the hell I got there.    That is when I have to hang it up for the night.
  3. One the fight has started if I am in the car, I am going to use the car until it is spent.  It some armor for a bit and a possible get away.   Don't get me wrong, the gun would ready but not going to abandon a perfectly good car weapon to go at it on first until forced.   Kinda like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
  4.     Never get out. the car can be a very useful defensive tool as I know ever one here knows.
  5. All I have for you is this country song.     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDmIi9ivyEs
  6. I lost it at our birth mother and other mother laying in bed.
  7. It was in the convenient store.   http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/ferguson-police-release-surveillance-video-related-to-michael-brown-shooting/
  8. BTW I apologize, I never intended to leave it X-Mas, with out saying Christmas.  If I offend anyone on that, get over it.
  9. The Dukes of Hazard [ Politically Correct ].mpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHO1PprfmkY     Grandma Got Molested At The Airport https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qdb6wC0Iz4     This one gave me bad ideas.   Made me want to buy a 1 way ticket to Chicago just to screw with the TSA and only have a carry on full of condoms.  I mean completely full suitcase of them.  Image the check when they open that at the metal detector.
  10. So no one offends anyone this holiday season.   Here is an educational video.  Take notes as needed.   Politically Correct Night Before X-Mas   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nytkzah78eU
  11. Ole Smokey Charred 105 proof isn't bad for moonshine.   BTW, anything that is taxed by my personal definition is NOT MOONSHINE.   Anyone remember the movie that used to play on TBS, the moonrunners.  It is what the Dukes of Hazard was based on.
  12. I did think all had dash cameras until this. A dash camera would have been helpful.   Here in Oak Ridge I have been in the car, lights on, officer out with a subject and I could ever every word he and the subject said as it was being recorded.
  13. I want body cams and live streams from all the Heads of state in DC.     .
  14. well the one I was going to use was 2 similar to TGO David. I know  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, however I have to be a bit different.
  15. Dad blames his hearing problems on shooting at a young age with no ear protection.   however mom and I believe he has selective hearing instead.
  16. OK, I just looked at the 4473 and well it has 5 spots.   I stand corrected.    Seems I remember reading it some place that after a certain number you had to do another form.  My memory might be wrong there, hell maybe it was a bad dream. However like you, I don't run into that issue as the most I have ever brought at once was 2.
  17. I can't stand onions myself. However I agree with OS, tomato and chicken doesn't seem natural.   My wife likes ketchup on her eggs.  That too seems very strange to me.  Maybe cheese but certainly not ketchup.
  18. My thing is they keep showing older pictures of a sweet kid.   Hell, I but  Manson was a cute baby.  No, I am not trying to say they are in the same class by any means.
  19.   You can buy up to 3 guns at once per that 10 dollar check. however that 4th gun will cost you again.
  20. I believe Pawn shops are suppose to put items like that on a website for police.  I think it is called leadsonline.com Also they are suppose to hold items for X amount of time before they sell them.
  21. auto break ins seem to be a plague in some area.  Here in Oak Ridge we seem to have allot of them.  Even the Chief of police wife was a victim of an auto break in.   Hopefully the guy will try to pawn the stuff and get caught.  Hopefully your insurance will cover it.  Even if car insurance doesn't, seems I have heard sometimes home owner or maybe renter insurance might since it happened where you live.  However I am no expert on insurance.
  22. Well I am back home.   I will say this, people in Springhill seem very polite and drivers are not crazy.   Walking though a parking lot cars stopped and waited for you to cross in front instead of speeding up to beat you across.   At sonic I had just got my order and was about to leave I pulled up to the road and the read light had just changed and cars quickly backed up to the Sonic exit (Thursday night) and a white sheriff car stopped about 30 feet back to make a hole in traffic for me to get out.  My experience with other drivers suggests they would have done the same.   One guy in a group no me, made a left in traffic and told me he thought there was a merge line in the center and ended up going the wrong way for a moment and other cars made a hole for him to get in and such.   Everyone we walked to in stores was very nice.  It seems on average to be nicer people then Oak Ridge.
  23. I own the 870 12ga Express I believe 18.5 barrel, no choke what so ever.  Cylinder bore. In theory, you will hit everything in a hallway in the middle of the night with it. I believe it is 6 plus 1.  The tube is the same length give or take maybe a half inch of the barrel   It handles 2.5 and 3 inch shells.       The super Magnum is going to handle 3inch and 3.5 inch shells   The tactical, well it is just Tacticool and will cost you an extra 100 bucks for that extra cool factor.   I don't know about the police models, back when I brought mine I looked them up but don't recall.   I do know you can buy and change the barrels and a ton of other accessories.   If you decide to change barrels, keep the same chamber size as the reset of the gun (receiver is designed for). I read a story where a guy has the express 2.5 and 3 inch chamber decided to put a super magnum barrel on it.  I believe he said well it worked if you didn't mine loading each round as the receiver did not handle 3.5 in shells.  I hope that makes sense.   I got my wife  20ga 870 so that all the controls would be in the exact same place so she could use either with the same muscle memory.     Myself I like the location of the safety on the 870 perfect for the trigger finger to hit while going to the trigger.  (same as my hunting rifle). I did look at some Mossberg but I didn't like the safety on top.  I found it funny that some of their cheaper models had the same closer to the trigger though.  To me, the hammer belongs on top, not the safety, but I am sure some will disagree and that is OK too.
  24. Local GS just told me recently they had 5 PMR 30's and they sold them at retail, 375. Another shop told me they had recently had 2 and they had heard production was up.   I want a second one but waiting until I can get it at retail.
