They will not be "patting" me down. I am talking about people working at a business, If anyone touches me, I will sue for Assault, maybe even sexual harassment. I am not talking about a LEO that feels they have cause to do a pat down, that may be different. A business may decide they do not want me as a paying customer if they insist on a pat down. They will not not be patting me down, if they do I will consider it assault, maybe even sexual harassment as I may not know the orientation of the person especially if it a man. Why would I consider it assault? When I took my CPA/first aid class it was drilled in that if you attempt to help a person that is still conscious with out their consent and you touch them they can sue you for assault even though you are wanting to help. That they could actually sue you if you touch them for assault if they want to. I would consider a pat down or an attempt pat down an assault. (I know I am not explaining that as good as it was explained in the class) However there is a point if they are going unconscious, you have implied consent to help.

Hmmm, Still learning but Looking around at the posts about what places are posted and reading how some places are posted but not posted correctly let me ask this follow up. What is the legal requirement for a business post that people can not carry, is there no standard sign to watch for?

Just wondering, any Game Wardens hang out here? I grew up hunting here in East TN but since I turned 18, went to College and started working for a living I have had less and less time for hunting. However I am trying to make more time for it again. Anyways I would be interested in knowing if there were some Game Wardens around that I could sometimes ask some direct questions to.

I am on the wrong end of the state as well, however, consider I can not solder wire to a metal contact worth a dam it might not be a good idea for me to try a welder.

I looked in the Law and I could find no legal time that the light has to remain Yellow. The intersections where the cameras are often have very short yellow lights to trap drivers crossing the light right as they go red. They leave no Margin for error on the part of the driver. Studies and not I can't site them now, have show more rear end accidents at intersections with cameras because people want to avoid the ticket. I will bolt up and stop on a dime myself, I almost got rear ended by Oak Ridge PD a couple weeks back, I guess he was almost going to 2 fast to control his cruiser but he did stop it. I did not cross the line. It was at the number 6 light. THat would have been an event, rear ended by Oak Ridge PD, My only statement would have been, "I was able to stop in time for the red light." no more questions, but I am glad he didn't

well, i see Lincoln's Sports Bar and Grille in Oak Ridge made the list. That is fine with me. I haven't been back since they charged my credit card 3 times for one visit. Yes I got discover to fix that. It makes me want to visit, walk up to the door they are so nice to meet you at and open for you, stop, look at it, turn around to leave. When they ask something about why I am leaving, point at the sign and say I believe I am not welcome and leave.

well, Seems CA is anti Gun, which is why they are making a database such as this available. I mean that is the only reason I can see for such a database. Took much information is given out in public records, in a time of identity theft the last thing we need is for BIG brother helping the thieves out by making the information available. Well today after work, I stopped in at Hardee's (Oak Ridge), Mind you, I am not carrying yet. Not Posted on their door. On their door was their hours and a no smoking sign. I guess it is always subject to change I guess all they would have to do is have one laying around and walk over to the doors and slap one up quick. However, As of just after 3pm today I could not find one on their door. Yea, I can see how this is going to be a bit of a game, where can I go, who will get my business, as when I am carrying, I have decided I will not be leaving my pistol in my truck. So if my pistol is not welcome, I will consider I am not welcome. Besides, if they don't welcome HCP holders that have had background checks, I don't think i want to be around the criminals that they would freely open their doors for and will do my best to take my business else where when ever possible.

I would call that a win, That would be a run away effect we could all live with, they would print less, have to raise prices, sell even less, have to raise prices, then sell less, higher prices. Soon CA would go away.

I have not been there in over 2 months, since I went on a diet to lower my cholesterol. It is either I lower it on my own or start Meds. I want to try it on my own first. Seriously, again, it should not take them that long to check to see if there has been any updates to the files that would DQ a person from HCP. In the same way as you can renew a DL very fast, they know if you have been suspended for any reason with out a long drawn out process. HCP should be no different.

Seems if someone does anything between the time of getting HCP and the renewal that would disqualify them, the database would be updated and it would come up much faster. I guess in the modern age of computers, our government is are going back to the Flintstones and using birds to write on the stone slabs again.

Wow, why can't they make the renewal like a DL, Serious, with computers it should be, walk in to the DMV ok, type in DL number, SSN, computer beeps, talks to computer in Nashville, and comes back, still valid, no change. take picture, hit print. I am starting to watch for Posted signs everyplace I go. Even when I get my HCP, I don't plan to carry all the time, but there will be times I will carry. However, I am starting now to watch to start to get in the habit to look for the signs. I now know the famous 14x6 signs used by Oak Ridge for the city parks that I still believe are far to small, as you can drive by them to easy when you are watching for traffic and other people walking in front of you as you drive. However, I think It might be nice to maybe and this is just a suggestion get a sticky thread in the Firearms Law FAQ area to Post a Picture of Each of the Signs that are Legally required a place to be posted as a no carry zone. Like, what a business has to post on their door way, and a description about how it should be and so forth. So far, I have not see any business' that I visit posted or I have walked by their signs and have not noticed. I am not carrying yet, like I said, I am just now starting to watch for the signs. I already know what I plan to make my first legal OC when I get my HCP. I am going to go out for some food, a place where they know me.

Based on my understanding of computers and how others have explained it, I think I can break it down. They ask the state for the data and built a database, and they may or may not update at set times. So it may at certain times become out of date. So it is possible there could be gaps. However I checked one person I know that has his and he did show up. It even showed me he is going to expire this coming fall.

Lets go back to the question. I believe only if they have their emergency lights on , maybe they are preforming some traffic control, rolling roadblock. However if they are just driving slow I do not believe so. However, anyone feel free to correct me.
