Seems they are putting information on the website but directly telling people something different. Strange and inconsistent, that is not like our gover, err, wait seems everything is working just like a well oiled Gulf of Mexico

There are far eaiser ways, however due to the public nature of the internet I will not disclose them, as I don't want to give anyone the wrong ideas or scare the masses any more.

i figure my first OC will be a place they know me, where I have also been going for year so if they see it they won't panic, probably the same thought process you had. However I dont' have my HCP yet. SO I am not carrying at all yet.

well from what I can tell, it is completely quite now, it has no power so nothing should be able to happen with it now. I have no choice but to get some sleep. yes, batteries in my fire alarms are good. Night all. I will get the repair guy called on this soon as I can't live with out my AC in the summer.

Just minutes ago my Central AC just died. Need to know a few things While watching Pawn Stars about 10:30, there was a large sudden draw on the eletric power, enough to cause my computer UPS batteries to start beeping and I heard my central AC unit making a strange nosie. I knew the 2 where related. 1. I turned off the AC at the switch and went outside to check 2. I could not smell anything but there was a sound like compressed gas escaping, I believe the compressor or tank just went out. I have waited until the sound has quit, nothing is smoking, I stood by just in case I needed to call the Fire Dept. I found the correct breaker for my central Heat/Ac unit and have turned it off, I went back to my heat/AC Fan switch and confirmed I can not turn it back on. Anything else I need to be concerned about before I can get a repair guy out? I have to go to work first thing in the morning, will it be safe while I am at work the way it is, with the breaker turned off?

Well, last week when Dad and I was out shooting. I had my first mis-fire in over a year. Dad was standing in a safe area behind me and I yelled, SNAP. Then I proceeded to clear the round, put the gun in safety as we checked it. I might get laughed at on an actually range.

Why do you think Russia want it years ago. Trust me, no one has been fighting in Afghanistan all these years for nothing.

Why are they allowed to publish HCP data
vontar replied to vontar's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The bigger flaw, assuming they are smart logical and well educated crimal minds we are dealing with that jsut decided they don't want to work. Most are just burn out drop outs that could not hold a job as a toll booth operator. -
Would be interesting to go to your appointment, find a sign, then call your DR office from outside, tell them you are cancelling because they changed their policy that prevents you from entering their office and that you refuse to pay a cancelation fee because they did not inform you of the change before you drove in. (this being assuming you would not want to leave your gun in your car. I would not want to leave mine in my car where it mine be stolen).

I am sure it was self defense.

I am thinking about going to Stone MT. GA this summer or fall, no Beach though.

I am going to take the test with my Dad's Mark 1 Ruger, 35 year old that I have been practicing with. Not going to change now right before my class. The 38, I just got a few weeks ago, I have never fired it. I know it works though and Yes I do know how to load it. I know which way the revolver turns. I know it turns before firing, (while the trigger is pulled or the hammer is pulled back). I have used other revolvers, just not this one yet.

That is why when I stop to get Gas, I am I am on the side away from the street. That is the Modern day equivalent to never sitting with your back to the door in the old west.

I may have been a bit off on the speeds, I think it is 35 around some of the cameras, 40 around others. 25 when in school zones during posted times. There are very few I actually have to drive though, I mainly have to drive by the number 6 Red Light any more. I have never had a traffic camera ticket either. Like a bad bad politician, you do have me back peddling. I would like to say while I am more awake I do try to be a bit under the posted speed when I am around the cameras, no more then 5 under though but never on the speed limit or above. However a few months back the Oak Ridge Observer did a story on a person getting tickets in unposted zone. The zone has since been posted. However it did make me shy of the cameras. At least read the Article on page 3. Speed camera nails resident twice in un-posted zone http://oakridgeobserver.com/images/stories/archives/October%2029%202009.pdf

That is the other part of the scam, they reduce the speed limit around the camera's. Here in Oak Ridge, being a local I drive other routes and avoid them at all cost. If I end up driving though one of the cameras, I slow down way under the posted speed. At least 5 under the posted speed limit, you should see the traffic build up in just a few seconds when you drop to 25 mph in a 30 mph zone. They can go around if they want, some do. I get away from the cameras and back to normal.

One thing, I know Dad has had his 22 Mark 1 as long as he has had me, about 35 years. He used to work around open pit coal mines, had battery acid spillled on it. The acid took to the bluing like a fat kid to cake. In the past year, I know I have personally put over 1000 rounds though it and just last week, i had one bullet mis-fired. It was probably the bullet. Dad and I checked the bullet, it had been hit plenty hard, loaded it back and it fired second try.

I would like to go, however I work weekends. However with enough notice maybe I will make the next one.

I don't plan on this being a self defense weapon. Like I said this would mainly be my range target. At my home I have my 38 spiecal, that I could also carry while driving/etc once I get my HCP. Also, this 22 would be what I plan to use to help get my wife to learn to shoot with, as she has expressed some interst in learning to shoot. I need something that won't scare her and turn off off the idea with the first shot.
-
Well, there are some monetary reasons. I was in a shop and held a 22 Mark III about a month ago. I was about to take my HCP about this time last year and my wife lost her job, got laid off. So I had to put a few things on the back burner. She is working again, so I am taking small steps again. Step 1. HCP. Step 2. will be a New Pistol, However, over the past year been using Dads Mark 1, to practice with off and on. Not the most accurate as I don't like the rear sights on it, but I am shooting it good enough to pass the test. I figure One month I will buy the Class+HCP, and the following month the new pistol. Then a bit later on, a bit better carry pistol.

Starting to consider 1st Hand Gun purchase. Don't get me wrong. My dad has several that I am allowed to borrow at anytime, plus I have a 38 spiecal. I am considering the first time walking in a gun shop, picking out the gun, signing the papers and walking out with one totally in my own name. Ok, I know I am asking for it, try not to burn me up. 1. Don't slam me with ofters yet, I am not ready to buy yet. Probably 2 months away from buying. Going to get HCP first. 2. I am looking for a 22 for target practice. 3. I want a 22 so I can go to the range and fire 200 rounds and not worry about the price of bullets. I am considering buying a relative cheap 22 pistol (new). I am considering a 22 Ruger, 22/45 Mark III with 5.5" bull barrel Probably the solid black one, P512MKIII, that retails about 307. I dont' want the stainless steal barrel. Like the one pictured at Ruger MK III - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I would like opinions on it, and I would be open to hearing about similar pistols by other brands in the same price range.

Why are they allowed to publish HCP data
vontar replied to vontar's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Hey I just came up with a Use for the HCP database I started looking up the Oak Ridge Coucil Members. Maybe everyone should start looking up their elected officals on the site, heck if the politicians know we are going to start using this data base they will get scared of it and decide they don't like it. I have lived in Oak Ridge for the past few years and just recently started going to going to my City Council Meeting, after the first meeting, I started figuring out who I like and don't like Seriously, if you have only read about your leaders, go watch them "inaction" your opinion may change. However, I find I agree with one council member on one issue but totally disagree on another, so if I try to vote that one out I am voting against half of what I want. So have to figure out which is the the greater evil to vote against. -
I guess I will put one up as long as you guys don't mine I didn't take it.
