alright, who was OCing @ amigos in jbro?
vontar replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
One thing, even if you know a place, it is so easy for a business to put up a simple sign now, you have to check on each visit. Heck, what if you go in, and they post after you enter. It would be your work against theirs as to when it became posted. -
to quote a dirty harry movie, "When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross."

Traveler's Insurance lies to the victims of accidents.

well, you might have to sue the other driver in small claim court for your lose time, then they would have a choice to pay or ask their insurance to pay probably, assuming you win. -
to Make my above statement more clear, left side, right side. I am talking about 2 different door ways.

even in that example "Maybe he had just gotten robbed and was a HCP holder for example. " Use of deadly force in TN is not justification to protect property, only life and lmb. http://www.lesjones.com/2003/09/23/tennessee-handgun-carry-permits-part-i/ You cannot use deadly force to protect property. If they’re stealing a hubcap they’re not a threat to life or limb. Deadly force and criminal law You can use deadly force to prevent death or serious injury to yourself or a third party. Beware of blundering into a scene and making a split-second decision as to who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy. You could shoot the guy with the gun, only to find out he’s an undercover cop, or another armed citizen like yourself.

even that video has some audio muted as well. I hope his video was recording from his car as well.

It is the Local Oak Ridge movie theater Tinselltown. On the left side, near the ticket booth there is a sign, but on the right sign it is on an angle 90 degree angle to both the door and the ticket booth. Why they decided to place the one on that side in a pretty much hidden place is beyond me. Also, most of the day time, the ticket booth is not even used, as when they are not busy it is unmanned and you have to go to the concession stand to buy your ticket which means you would not have went by the ticket booth. They do not have sings on their doors, only the 2 on their ticket booths, one is is an semi ok place, other mostly hidden.

The Media can only cover one event at a time, right now it is BP.

"Either form of notice used shall be of a size that is plainly visible to the average person entering the building, property, or portion of the building or property, posted." I wonder if I feel a business posted but not clearly if I should ask to speak with a manager about it( unarmed of course). I know a business that has 2 front doors, Left door is marked ok, but the right door a big off from it I was looking and lookig could not find it, finally found the sign on the side of the wall pretty well hidden. It makes me mad that if they are going to post but then try to hid the signs. I think they should have a legally required sign of set size and it sould have to be on the door, we should not have to play hide and seek looking for the dam things.

/joke on a Real tennessean would never hit a woman, unless she starts it. /joke off She was wrong, the video showed it. Her momma should have taught her the difference between a minor jwalking(traffic ticket), misdemeanor, and felony assault. Now our legal system will have to do it for her.
-
Dam, you had been checking the door, I even called my wife over trying to find it. Question, for a posting to be Legal does it have to be on the door or just near a door? I know some places that I would question if the posting is legal because of placement.
-
Am I blind, I am not finding the no gun on that door. Perhaps I am having Serious trouble with the anything goes posting. Maybe it is code like in college, If there is a sock on the door knob don't knock or coming in.

Here is a Sign you will never see. Maybe this making up for the Hooters Jokes from yesterday.

It does Suck he lost 2 weeks pay for an accident for which he was not at fault. However, hate to say it but had he been injuried they would have had to pay medical bills and probably be forced to pay Lost wages for being unable to work. -
I think we need an app for Posted, areas, so we can be warned when we are near a known posted area and better year HCP friendly areas.

This is going is going to sounds like an excuse, and another if a bully frog had wings statements, If I didn't have to work for a living and was a bit better off, I would like to round of some of my guns/ammo and volunteer some time on the US/Mexico Border and put in some time. Right now, like most people, I have to work all I can just to keep the bills paid.

Welcome to our justice system, anyone can sue anyone for anything. I probably don't even qualify as armchair general. Some good info here, under Deadly force and civil law http://www.lesjones.com/2003/09/23/tennessee-handgun-carry-permits-part-i/

Good Read, bet you wont' find that at CA.

Me and mine. or be a good wittness and call 911. I would have a good chance at having most of the facts when it comes to me and mine but with strangers what appears to be one things very well may turn out to be something else. That is where being a good wittness and calling 911 comes in.

we were warmed about those. Much like a TV, dont' sit to close, might burn your eyes out or something.

TN is not fond of Open Carry of those. however, for around ones home, I am cool with it.

Thanks for the good suggestions. I am going to go to the shop, put a couple in my hand. Sitting here, I think I am going to go with the Ruger still if for on other reason I know a little more about them then the others. If it is a bit harder to clean, well maybe I will just Learn more about it. Someone ask back a bit about my 38. It is an old one that was just passed down to me. It was my Great aunts before she died a few month back at 98. (I swear if any one ask how, I will say her parachute failed to open). But seriously at 94/95, she brought a 4 wheeler and made my Dad take her back in the mountains to show her places she had always heard about that she wanted to see before she died. I will try to post a picture of the gun if I can find a way. The gun I already checked, it dates back to about 45-47, based on the SN I believe 45-46. I might get S&W one day to actually check the SN and tell me what day it left the factory and if it had those pearl handles or not or find out if they are after market.
