  1. I knew the preacher from LaFollette's dad.  Went hunting with him.  He was a hell raiser at times.  :D  Never met his son though
  2. I have done that on others, but it appeared to be buried a little deep for me   2003 Ford Sport Trac. 4x4 4.0
  3. I still haven't built my TGO lowers.  still have them in the safe.   I believe the only new pistol I got this year was a 9mm Colt Defender. (.45 was a bit much considering my wife might need to use it, didn't want her to be afraid of it).
  4. Some of the comments are some things I worried about.  I am going to attempt to work it into my budget a bit sooner.  Thanks.   (my morning daily drive to work is so short, that I wouldn't get up to full temp on a cold morning anyways) 1 mile.
  5. I do plan to repair it soon, but may need to wait a month or so,  we are putting in some money into my wife's car at the moment, and with Christmas bills coming due, it just isn't in the budget for now.  Going to try to plan this for Feb.
  6. Well that is better then drinking it.
  7. First, yes I know I need to repair this.   Question, if the thermostat is stuck in an option position causing an engine to not get up to full temp, can it actually hurt an engine or anything?   It appears mine is not getting to full temp and I actually had a check engine code that said something along the lines of "Insufficient Coolant Temperature"   my gauge is moving but not all the way to normal.    (I know I have had cars in the past with no thermostat what so ever and they ran fine, except in winter I could almost never get enough heat for the heater.)    My truck is not low on fluid (completely full) and I do have enough heat for the heater to work, but probably not as hot as it should be.
  8. They believe they have found it now.  "Debris '95% likely' from missing jet"
  9. Not sure if it was stomach flu but something had me bad early December.  I thought a case of food poisoning, did have a fever with it so guess it could have been either.
  10. One of our Local Police officers recommended Spanish bayonet.  I am going to try to plant some this coming year.
  11. Don't forget that burning ferry that has over 400 people on it.     http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/28/world/europe/ferry-fire-italy-greece/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
  12. I managed to pay off my 30 year mortgage in 12 years.  I tried to talk them into a 15 year loan but they would not do it on my small down payment of 2k, but I got the figures for a 15 year pay off and I tried to aim for it anyways.  Plus I sent my tax returns to it most years to the principle.  There was times it hurt.  Second, I wasn't maxed out on my credit for what I could have got a loan for, I stayed 30 K under the max they would let me have.  I just wanted to beat them at their game.  They made a good deal of interest off of me over 12 years, but much less then if I had kept it to term. With out selling those stocks, I would have been paying it off about 5 years from now. which would be 5 more years of interest.  I didn't expect the stocks to do much more then they had done recently.  Plus if they lost money again and I lost my job for some reason i would have been forced to sell.  So I sold at my choice and got out of doubt all but my truck.  Truck has lower interest that I am OK with.
  13. Well, Santa didn't bring it, but I gave this to myself. No, didn't hit the lottery, but some stocks I have been sitting on for the better part of 10 years at a loss just recently went up and above what I paid. I got enough to pay off my mortgage. Some people tell me that is a mistake, but I see not having a mortgage payment and the ability to start investing in my future more now.
  14.   Where I work, private property, they have told us that there is an agreement with the City Police that they can ticket any one parked in the handicap spaces that don't have the handicap parking requirements on their vehicle.
  15. Dolomite_supafly, you would like what my dad did once.   He saw some previous neighbors (that we had a land dispute with) parked in a handicap parking space with out the required sticker. I don't know exactly how he pulled it off, but he saw an officer about to write them up a warning.  He stepped over, I guess pretended to be the owner and tried to talk the officer into not writing it up, just saying things like you don't really want to write that up do you..  Anyway when it was all said and done they had a ticket and dad walked off thinking he caused it to go from warning to ticket.  He still laughs about it.
  16.   Funny I did the same and about 30 I had the same feeling. If you was in Oak Ridge I could recommend one.   FYI, if excess weight is any bit of an issue, start working on it now.  Free tip from 10 years in your future.

  18. Yup, the Theatre chains let a dangerous precedent get set.  Refuse a film and the movie companies know they can go to plan B and deliver it direct to homes and cut them out.   I would rather pay 5.99 to watch it at home with my family then go out and 20 plus, including my time waiting on them to get started when on demand I can click a button, heck even pause it and go to the bathroom as needed.   The theatres are going to learn they will not win that battle.  I am glad freedom of speech won even though I don't even want to see this movie.

  22. The news is talking like there is very likely going to be video from surveillance cameras.
  23. Here we go again, Police: Officer fatally shoots armed man in town near Ferguson, Missouri     http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/24/justice/missouri-officer-involved-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_t2   CNN on TV already showed a riot that took place while the police were still on scene.   Appears they pointed a gun at the officers, a gun was recovered.   Here is the video.  http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2014/12/24/newday-police-fatal-shooting-armed-man-berkeley.cnn.html       ********edit I guess this is suppose to be video leading up to it. I can't make much out yet.   http://fox2now.com/2014/12/24/surveillance-video-released-of-fatal-officer-involved-shooting-in-berkeley/
  24. North Korean Internet 101 interesting read. http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/22/technology/security/north-korean-internet/index.html   After reading that, I had to look up the OS they use, Red Star, another interesting read if you are computer people. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2862737/meet-red-star-os-the-north-korean-linux-distro-that-apes-apples-os-x.html
