When I first brought mine, first thing I heard was a Fully involved Dumpers fire. Someone on the interstate threw a cell phone at another car. Never hear much real crime on it. I mainly near 911, first responder type events. I must not have the good super secret channels.

A friend of mind told me about seeing a boxed set of what he beleived where antique dueling pistols that could shoot .410 shotgun shells. He told me a person showed them to him over 20 years ago and ask me if I knew of any pistols that could shoot .410 shotgun shells. On the surface I told him, I was not aware of any but it got my attention and I would ask around. I ask my dad and he told me he had heard that it is possible to shot a 410 shotgun shell though some .45 pistols but does not know anyone who has ever done it. I did a little research on the Internet and found some place that said you can shoot a .410 shotgun shell out of a .45 pistol but the rifling really mess' up any chance of getting a good pattern. So here are the question. 1. Is it true you can really shoot .410 shotgun shells out of some .45 pistols? if answer to question 1 is no I guess the rest of the questions are a pointless. 2. I assume it would have to be a revoler, probably could not be a semi auto? 3. Seems like the birdshot would be damaging to the rifling in the barrel or am I over thinking it? 4. I guess you could also shoot Slugs? If this is true and it would not be damaging to the gun or considered dangerous I might look into a .45 that could use .410 shells as backup. In the same way as a 357 can use .38's as backup. Here is one forum I found where some people where discussing using a Taurus revoler with .410 shotgun shells. This reminded me of a person I have not thought about in many years. A person I went to grade school with. I grew up with a boy(well went to school with) that when he was very young, I am guess, before first grade got a hold of a blasting cap and put it in an electric outlet. Best I remember, he blew off all but 2 fingers on one of his hands. I barely knew him, I was a couple years older them him. I did not know him when it happened. it was one of those things everyone found out or heard about it when he started school.

I had a better one, but here is a list of codes for TN Tennessee Scanner Frequencies: The BIG List I don't have my programmed all that good. I have added to what it came with, but I think I need to wipe it out and start over as sometime the trunked channels mess up.

I can't narrow it down to 1. I am going Old school on you guys. Sergeant York, First one I can remember every watching and understanding To Hell and Back Midway the Guns of Navarone and force 10 of navarone Red Dawn 300 Those probably just start the list.

Goin' Postal was on the list and since it is close to Gander Mnt and The Irish Times I figured I would just head that way and stop in both places while I was at it. However work is oftering me some easy Over time in the middle of the day tomorrow I have to take that, extra money for my Gun Purchase.

well I am signed up and Off to go finger painting for the state tomorrow.

300 would certainly be ranked up there.

They all look alike to me, I can't tell which one is the target. (it had to be said)

No Question, The Irish Times in Knoxville.

From what I heard it sounded like the home owner was fighting back against a knife. They described the cuts he had and everything in enough detail that I could image what it must be. I want to know if they got the SOB that caused it

I posted that a few weeks ago, I got mine last Friday.

Congrats. All the best.

I have a solution to the Pirate Problem. if I was a shipping company or a ship Capitan with the power and budget to protect my crew and cargo. I would Hire about 10 Ex-Marines and or mix or other Ex US Service Man/Women for my ship. I would prefect a mix of services for the nature of the job. I would have a rank system like the military. I would have 1 of them reporting directly to me. I would have have a basic schedule for them. They would be required to stay in good physical shape to keep their job, stay trained and work together as a team. Other then the time the lead officer of the team determines they need to keep fit, stay trained, keep they gear in order, etc they could have basic time to themselves at sea. Keep at least 2 of them on guard at all hours, and all of them on call 24/7 in case of Pirates. This being international waters for the Most part, I believe they could carry military grade weapons. However the only catch to my plan would be when they travel into some ports. I haven't figured this part of the plan out. Maybe the shipping companies could get together and put a ship outside the ports, barely in internation waters to temp store weapons just before they go in to port. In short, they disarm while still in international waters, go to port, then arm up as they leave. Image the pirate surprise to come up against some well trained/ well armed Cargo ship.

Well last night I heard a Life Star flight, they had what I believe to be the victim of a home invasion. They described the injuries and everything. I want to find out news story behind the event. I haven't seen anything online yet. Wondering if they got people that did the invasion and stuff. I believe the flight was from Campbell Co, guessing to UT.

BTW, is it wrong to pick a finger printing place just because you like the name of it. I was looking over the list of places and I am going to to to one that might on the surface be a couple miles farther away then another, it is Goin' Postal in Farragut. On the surface is might be further then some other places but I can stop in Gander Mnt and the Irish Times while I am over in that area. I will get all of that taken care of on Wednesday.

First I want to make sure I can't get in trouble for repeating it. I know my parents when they got a scanner years ago aways told me you are not suppose to repeat things you hear on them. I know that was 20 years ago, as they got it when I was first learning to drive and he still has that same scanner. I got one about 2 years ago, I barely got the thing working but every now and then I pick up some interesting stuff. Personally I believe anything I repeat would just be hear say anything and technically should be protected under freedom of speech.
-
On the form that you fill out, on the cover I believe it states you can't carry in side the state DL place.
-
Allot of people just pull the mobile home about a block and are safe again right? However I can't do that, my home has a real foundation.
-
I have heard that one is OK to listen to a police scanner but you are not suppose to repeat anything you hear over them, is that true? I feel anything broadcast over those channels is available to the public if not encrypted and you are using non modified equipment and therefore anything I hear I should be able to talk about. Opinions? Facts? In short, I heard something last night and I would like to get more details about the event that lead upto it and have found nothing on the news yet.

Well Today I rubbed shoulder with my fellow members of the community at the local DMV. We where packed in there like cattle I tell you. They had 4 state workers and 6 lines. Everyone that went in, had to stop at counter number 2 and get a number and form. The person at counter number 2 was pretty much doing the jobs at counter 1 and 4, plus counter 2. Counter 6 only severed 3 people in like 2 hours while I was there, but I believe that was the driving part of the test. Hells bells if they put more then 3 new drivers on the road per 2 hours, I guess they have to wait until other drivers expire by some means, natural or other. Finally as the herd thins it gets down to only 3. It only takes about 20 minutes to get on guys picture took, as it took 2 state workers to get the camera working. 2 remain, yet the counter is still reporting 7 customers remain, as they click though the number waiting and yet the remaining 2 have yet to be called you wonder if those state workers can see the ghost of those who have left. As they they give them time to make it to to counter but they never appear. Finally you are called, they take your papers and low and behold you had everything down. You waited 2 hours and they only needed you for 5 minutes. However, in that 2 hours you spend, you got to see some of the interesting people you share your community with. Everyone thinks there are so many uneducated voters out there that don't have enough sense to vote. I saw one or 2 remove themselves. I saw a young girl walk off and they tried to call her back, "Miss, did you want to register to vote? You put a check in the box to register to vote." she looked at I guess her mom and ask if she should. (not wanting to quote exactly, in short said they never voted before and she decided not to register to vote. I figure since she at the end of the line and would probably never make that trip again just to register to vote, that is one that probably if voted probably would have just voted for who ever someone said to and would not have been informed at all about and now will probably not register to vote for many years to come. At least I am done there. Next will be finger painting time. NOT A TYPO

vontar replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Mike.357 said it much better then I did with Fix the flat now, before it ruins the rim. Code for nice gun. -
I never thought about that, but nice thing about this board is the pool of information that is available. I am going to store that in section 31 of my brain for safe keeping.

I am guessing BOY. 8 pounds 6 ounces. Placing my long bet now.

Gurkha ordered back to UK after beheading dead Taliban fighter
vontar replied to a topic in General Chat
The dam Taliban would have done the beheading while the man was still alive and then would have been rewarded. If the where told they needed proof they should have been told what proof to bring back. This is another one of those cases, I am going to quote myself. ---vontar 07-06-2010 06:32 PM --- http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/42650-can-i-bring-ex-felon-gun-range-5.html#post559432
