I think we should ask a mod to make this a Sticky for so many reasons. This thread really hits what this forum is about and he ab28 got out there, lived it and experienced it first hand. I know I for one and I am sure others will use this thread as examples for a very long time to come.

that sand water filters would be nifty to built and keep one on hand as a just in case item. I don't mean for backbacking but build one cheap and keep it around home for the what if, you end up with a questionable water situation for a few days. Looks simple enough to build.

I called one person on the 13th and was told they where still doing my background check. I figure I will call them again this coming week. Nothing I can do on the weekend. I was going to call them yesterday but I was late leaving work and I let time slip away yesterday evening.

I have a question, What kind of parking would be available for me. Like me, I if I go, I would be driving over 2 and half hours to get to the bus. I would need to know the cars would be relatively safe and not going to get towed I like the idea of this, as I already had plans to go to Jack Daniels this fall, I did not even know the others were around there. Plus it is cheaper then the gas heat. I keep fire at our house, my wife loves it. Where I grew up with wood/coal heat I am used to maintaining fire, she never dealt with it. So I don't want her touching it. I have told her if it goes out and I am not available to take care of it to let it go out and turn on the house heat. That only happened like once last winter. I think the gas company doesn't trusts me, they came and changed my gas meter after the first winter I put in the wood burner.

Reminds me of a stay in a hospital I had when I was about 16. Long story how I ended up in the ER, not going there. But after they took me out of the OR and put me in a room about 1am, I remember they would not let mom stay in the room because there was another male patient in there. She was waiting in the hall. There was no way in hell they were going to get her more then that away from me with out an armed guard. I went to sleep, about 2 am a Nurse came in woke me up and started asking me questions, my name, birth day. after about 2 questions in as she ask the 3, I said mom is in the hall way, ask her. turns out mom had stepped away to the bathroom after I went to sleep and the nurse came in checking on me. It pissed me off.

I think 4 year terms are 2 long. I think we should speed things up, 1 year terms with a max of 8. Lets put the government on the fast track instead of cruse control wait, then some will say but they can't do anything in 1 year, well seems they can't do anything in 2 years or 4 years either. I remember some people saying when Obama got elected they would not want to be President right now because of how bad things are. I was just the opposite. I said this is the best time to be president because there is so much room to make improvements. If you inherit that job when everything is roses and you mess up, you are horrible, if you inherit a mess and fix it, you are great. If you inherit a mess and don't make any improvements what so ever, you Obombed it.

Time to go to wal mart and scare the guy at the counter again with me buying about 300 dollars worth of ammo. I can't dump that much on ammo right now, i've had to many dam bills this summer. I just got paid and this check should dig me out of the hole I got in. Buy until he says I hit the imaginary limit then have my wife buy more. Or drive it home and go back and try to buy more. I would love to be told no, to which I would ask nicely for a manager.
