Phone # Help Lisa Knight (Gun permit office
vontar replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That is an interesting twist, out of state travel. I am sure that will be tested one day by someone. Like always, I don't want to be the test case. -
what is on your adult beverage menu for the evening?
vontar replied to Mike.357's topic in General Chat
Just a glass sangria, Carlo Rossi . -
You should have pretend you hate Guns, and wrote Pro Gun. You might have got some brownie points with him if he his anti. Or to be safe, avoid guns totally and went anti Death penalty or Anti Neclear power. I am sure you could find something to try an anti something on. It is easy to be devil's advocate on almost anything.

Glock23 this might help you out. Man rules states, no man can complain Abo the type of a free beer, only the Temp of a free beer.

Talking about your own post count puts you next in line for buying a round at the next meeting.

Agree with Spurhunter. Which circles back to one big fault in the legal system. One should not have to pay to prove innocent. It is costly to fight the system even if one is right.

I know of the term road hunting. I know I can state I would never do it and all that, of course this being the internet take it with a gain of salt. I was just wondering if that meant I could actually put the mag with 4 in the gun while driving to the parking spot now, leaving the chamber empty. I get it that I can drive from my home to my dads for example with them in the mag, chamber empty. I was just wondering how that law relates to hunting.

I know someone posted something similar to this yesterday but I can not find the thread. Seems a couple people catch a part of the news story and wondered if it was pro or how it was. I have been searching and trolling around this morning and unable to find it. If some finds it, please post a link or a Mod maybe link this post to it. On CNN this morning, there was a very short, less then 1 minute story about a Bank I believe in Texas. As I gathered it had been robbed in the past. The sound bite I heard from a person that they interviewed was a message for future would be robbers that they might leave feet first. It showed a picture of the door with a picture of a Hand gun and something along the lines of welcome Lawful concealed carry Welcome. Bank President said it has been good for business too. Here is a Link, sorry you have to go to CNN, call it recon. I found it online, bit longer then I saw on TV, it is very PRO. Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

Greatest Gun Platform EVER Built!!! A Small tribute to the A-10 Warthog.

I remember watching a show about the design of the A10, they started with the main gun and said build me an Airplane around it. -
There's Something Rotten in the State of Tennessee

I would also like to see the letter. I wonder if they are writing it in a way that gives the reader it really is from the government instead of a private group if it is coming from a private group. -
Just so you know, a cop can be videotaped by an individual
vontar replied to a topic in General Chat
actually that is important case law now. Here is a new story before it went to court, he was facing a 5 year felony. -
Thanks OhShoot. However I wonder, would that hold up in hunting season. I am looking forward to Deer season more this year then when I was 10 I think. Mainly cause I am going to be carrying a pistol on my side. Lets say I was with my .270 with 4 in the Mag, none in the chamber. Think a Game Warden could get me in trouble? Same going to and from my hunting spot? I know in years past, dad always had me unload but I believe the game wardens at the time told us having them in the Mag was ok but not in the gun. I remember having the mag with 4 in my hand and even being checked before with no problems.

Last thing we need is some group encouraging and scaring business'. -
Yup, never seen a white one before either. I have know people with several black ones. Those can certainly immediate people that don't know them. I don't care hope big of a baby they are, if a person don't know that fact about yours, they have a rep that proceeds them. If someone broke in a home to be confronted by a pair of doberman's, you would probably even up with a new door though the wall as they made a fast exit.

Yea I agree, with the Don't be stupid bit 100 percent. The biggest problem I have every had with a traffic stop was I was pulled over about 10 p.m. about a half mile from a Bar, reason given he said I was swerving and crossing the white line and he felt I might have been impaired. I had not even been drinking or at at bar that night. In fact I had actually just drove past it on my way to work. He did hold me up enough to make me about 20 minutes late for work while he checked my tag, license and what ever else he checked. The trouble, he had to find something, so he me clean my license plate. It was dusty. I lived on a dirt road at the time. No ticket or anything on paper from the event.

BTW, don't take this the wrong way, I still think the story is full of holes. As I said pages back, we only have 1 side. I am just adding it seems like he in some way consented to search, before the dogs checked for drugs. The order of events from Dan Howley was 2 paragraphs before he brought the dog out. The guns had already been checked. Seems he had already been searched to some point. As I understand, he could have said he does not consent to a search before that point?I am not fully up to speed on how that works, but I have watched a few videos on youtube about it and it seems pretty straight forward. Seems that would be the point to say you do not consent to a search before being ask to open the trunk, correct me if I am wrong as if I am I need to know.
-
I was kinda peacing together from the story and the comments. However, there is the part where in his story where he unlocked the box for the trooper. That seems like consenting to a search. Hanging out on this site, I have learned so much more about my rights, things I just took for granted in the past. I do not give consent to search.

I updated my firmware by going to setting, About phone, then system update. 56FordGuy, maybe that is why you and I had it a bit different. I did it from the phone and didn't use a cable. I did mine over 3G while at work and never plugged it up to my PC to update.
-
What is boils down to, the guy seems to have consented to a search. We still do not know where the Ammo was in relation to the guns.
-
Read some of the comments, people there have even more questions then we do. If I was not on my phone I would quote some of the good ones.

As for flash, it is funny. I just updated flash on my computer about 3 days ago. Then 2 days ago when I updated my Firefox it told me flash needed to be updated again. I was wondering if it was using a different plug in for flash. At any rate couldn't hurt to make sure your flash is up to date. It might have an impact on the youtube problem. lowbud is right, resetting IE could help as well. It may be a security feature in IE if you have IE 8. Some websites have issues with IE 7, where 6 works and 8 works. I tried to post from work, and I think the site had a temp crash this morning. Anyways, retyping it. Next I would look for Malware/vii problems. Some of the best anti malware programs I have found are Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes. Both are free. However I have donated to Spybot. Anti virus programs are like Ford/Chevy. Depends on who you like the best. They all pretty much update regular. No single program will stop everything. Personally I like AVG 9, however there are others out there that work just as well, maybe better. I actually use the Free personal edition. Anyways, make sure your PC is malware and virus free would be next. Let us know what IE you have. Let us know what IE you are using.

Since I (we)helped pay for the first buggy with my taxes and she was well feed and saving money not having to buy food no wonder she was able to support her other habits.

Let me add one more HOLE to this. BTW, Seems pretty odd. TN is pretty lacks on window tint, compared to the state of Virginia had been in. TN you are allot to be much darker then Virginia. I don't know the numbers but I know my car when I brought it was at the legal limit in TN, but I was told if I went to Virginia I could get a ticket.

How do you talk your daughter into carrying?
vontar replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I don't have any kids now, but when I have kids I plan to introduce them to guns early and have them shooting by the time they are 5-6. Dad had me shooting when I was about that age. When I went to college, started work and got married I fell behind on my gun knowledge. I find myself playing allot of catch up. Lord help me if I have a daughter, but I will certainly make sure she can hand a gun. Might even encourage chewing tobacco to keep the boys away. -
In the control panel, in internet options Or from inside IE Tools, then internet options, you need to clear your cookies and temporary files. If you have IE 7 or higher I go to delete, then Delete all. Be mindful if you have saved passwords on websites this wipes them out. I don't recommend anyone save passwords on websites. Funny I work in IT and one of our number one call reasons is I FORGOT my password in some form or another, however the call normally starts out, my password isn't working for some reason.
