Firefighters let man's home burn down over $75 fee.
vontar replied to Punisher84's topic in General Chat
BTW, I keep trying to find a new story that lists the offical cause of the fire, other then just someone saying someone was irgnoring a fire ban. If someone has a link that lists an offical cause please post it. -

True if you forget to pay your health insurance you have to pay the doctor yourself, but the ER won't turn you away if you show up with with a broke leg. They will fix you and send you home with a bill. -
Glad you are ok, Now for the Jokes. There are easier ways to get bucks. At least it didn't go though the windshield. That Nissan seems to have more metal in the front end then I would have imaged.

At least that was an easy fix as well.

I think everyone should be made aware of the fact that if they do not subscribe, pay the protection money, they will not have any fire department services. This case is a good example. Man forgot to pay his bill and was not covered when he needed them the most. -
BTW, I am not saying I want to see anyone get ripped off either. I don't want to come across that way.

BTW, Daniel, I like the image you are using now. Much easier to look at. back to the topic. I wonder how late he was on paying. But it is kinda screwy if he was just a little late. -
Well, I am fixed up. The problem. I thought I had a Heat pump with Aux heat. That had been talked about. However what I brought and my contract was not a heat pump, it was an AC unit/gas pack. no heat pump. The guy that installed it thought it was a heat pump system as well, and programed the Thermostat for a heat pump/ aux gas system as well. It didn't take they guy long today to figure it out and re program the system.. It is working now,

I don't know about 80 but in this day and age, I regularly know 60-70 year men and women on the internet. Most watch TV. Most know first offer is not the best. OK, before this thread gets dragged though 10 pages, perhaps someone should contact the shop and get the other side. Seems I remember a thread about 2 months back that got dragged though the mud for several pages then we got the other side of the story.

BTW, believe it or not, I have TEXT disabled on our phones by the carrier. We all know the saying. Some people just can't walk, talk and chew bubble gum at the same time. Some people are just naturally more coordinated. I will talk hands free while driving, but texting and other takes a persons eyes away from the road which is a major problem. Also, i limit phone calls to those have to calls, I don't get on the phone just to be on the phone while driving. In my like of work, doing tech support, me and another co worker have dealt with the same person, who insists on doing his trouble shooting his air card while driving down the road. He tells us, it is OK, he is in a rural area, no traffic. The way we figured it out was his cell phone kept dropping. Of course we tried to encourage him to either pull over or get to where he was going and call back. Told him we where available 24/7, but he was in a hurry to guess what, get his email.

+1 I watch Pawn stars all the time and I get angry with the customers that have no clue what they are trying to sell. If you don't know what you are selling, Do your own research. Like that lady on Pawn starts wanted 2,000 for a Fabergé pendant. Rick told her he would like to give her 2,000 but he had a conscience and offered her 15k for it. Then she got greedy and ask for 17k. In her case, the CASE she had the Fabergé spider in even had the word Fabergé spelled on in it. Had she done her own research before going to a pawn shop she would have know what she and probably could have found someone that would have paid top dollar instead of going though a middle man that has to make money as well. I do wonder what he would have gave her had the cameras not been there as well. On the flip side, I also have a background in TV/radio production and I know they could setup some scenes like that for ratings as well.

I heard about this yesterday at work, I heard different tales on how it went down. None as detailed as I have read here on the forum. One main difference I have heard and I DO NOT know if this is true or not. A person at work said it was not like the guy never paid it in the past. One tale circulating around the office was that the man had paid it for like the past 15 years and was just late this year. If the man was just late on his payment it would be a twist on this. Watch the Video at , found in the same orignal new story posted. Rural Tennessee fire sparks conservative ideological debate | The Upshot Yahoo! News - Yahoo! News The home owner said he paid it last year and the couple years before. He said he just forgot to paid it this year. -

Yea, but there where more Crimes in just 1 Memphis then Chatt. Chattanooga, Tenn. Predicted annual violent crimes: 114 Memphis, Tenn. Predicted annual violent crimes: 203 Memphis, Tenn. Predicted annual violent crimes: 233 I think this means we Memphis wins hands down. However, both cities, My chances of becoming a victim here (in one year): 1 in 9 So from now on, every 2 posts where we bust on Memphis, we have to bust on Chatt. at least once to be fair. -

Same. We are talking straight up pot, not someone that smokes a little weed and mixes in some other drugs that causes unknown effects. -

Going to try and reply from my phone. I meant make it legal and tax sales. Once it is legal then your backyard personal garden should not be affected. Just like corn or anything else people legally grow for personal use. My tax intend comment was for commercial sales to be legal. -
I am not worried, I mainly use Wood heat. I just didn't want to build a fire yet this year and figured I would test the new system. Kinda glad I did to find out it was not working correclty now. Better now then later. I have a wood burner and enough wood for this winter already cut and stacked.

Yea I had gas before, but this one is a a Dual, Heat pump with gas Aux.. The old one was Just Gas. I will tell you, the EM when I turned it on puts out more heat then the old unit ever did.
-
Thanks, kind of what I thought. This morning waking up it was like I had been camping. In a way it felt good, except I had to go to work. I have the EM heat on right now and I know it cycles on and off as needed. However, when not at home, I am turning it OFF. This unit in EM, seems to dump heat in my house at faster then the old unit ever did.

I have already called my installer and I have an appointment. Tell me if this sounds minor. Brand new system installed 3 months ago. 10 year Warranty so I am not worried. However I have only been using AC until last night. When they installed it, we turned on the Emergency heat and burned off the new. it is an Heat Pump/AC with Gas Aux. This is my first Heat Pump, as it was explained to me, it is basically AC in reverse down to about 35-40 degrees, and normally would not use Gas, unless turn on the EM Heat. Well last night, temp started dropping, inside the house it got down to about 66 and my wife started getting cold. Outside was 55. So I turned the Heat on. The fans came on, The fan outside on the unit was running. However the air coming though the vents stayed cold even 30 minutes later and the house temp dropped to 64. So I turned on the EM heat when I knew they told me no matter what would over ride the heat pump setting and turn on the gas heat. It only took about 30 minutes and had my house back up to 70. I think put the setting to automatic, just in case where it should control temp with in 3 degrees, and went to bed, WRONG, woke up and it had cooled my house to 56 inside , outside 55. I had to turn on EM heat for my wife again. So, do you think maybe they just wired something up incorrect? I have a Honeywell Thermostat, frigidaire 2 Ton unit.
