  1. Dam you, no freaking warning. Just for that, I am going to quote it again.
  2. GOING DOWN. Ladies Lingerie, nevermind, Basement. splat.
  3. I have not used Kindle yet, I have the software on my droid. However I will say I have a co worker that has Kindle software on his IPAD and said he is finding all kinds of free books. So they have to be out there.
  4. Yup, I am not going down that road. BTW, when I first heard about this kind of Fire protection service, It kinda sounded like Mafia Protection money. I think this thread has enough directions already. I don't have it with me, but in my First Aid/CPR book, there is a section the Good Samaritan law. There are times when it is OK to move a victim if they are in more danger by not moving them. I know we discussed this in detail when I took my CPR/first aid class. In general, you don't move a victim but sometimes they may be in more danger by not being moved, due to fire or other dangers. If the person is awake of course you have to get consent to help. If they are unconscious it is implied consent. Articles - TNTLaw.Net - Nashville TN Attorneys I continued to read and they had some examples on this site, that physician in the example was horrible.I think this may be the current TN Law
  5. slippery slope turns into Scare the masses into line. Other areas are about to bring this time of program into affect. Before this event I had never even heard of this type of service yet this had been a fact of life for 20 years in that part of the state.
  6. Lucky I am not a Mod, I would consider removing your posting ability until your post was true
  7. That seems to be the general feeling here. I am not for that in a fire department. When it comes to Emergency services. Take care of the Emergency first.
  8. safeandsecure To answer part of your, the news crew was on scene with the firefighters. The footage shown at that point was to late to save the house, but from what I gather was around 2 hours after the event started. It looks like the fire was still going when the fire department was packing up and leaving. Still a danger to spread to anything else I guess. IAFF Condemns Tenn. Dept's Decision Not to Fight Fire | Firehouse.com same link from other posts Seems there was about 2 hours of time from the fire getting out of control to getting to the Trailer. BTW, a no pay, no spray maybe setting up other dangerous situations, like was pointed out in another post. Back to Gene Cranick , this guy seems to have only missed paying this year. He had paid in other years. What if someone had been trapped inside, sorry, you have not paid your fire protection fees this year. I am not saying he was not at fault. Put out the fire, sent him a bill. I am in agreement with others, it seems in the time available, they had time to get the pets out. He failed to pay 75 dollars this year, so he gets to lose his home in a one time event. Lets tally this up. He Failed to pay 75 dollars, should have then changed him X amount per hour to fight the fire. I think someone said Rural Metro is 1200 an hour for example. Lets say 3 hours. $3600 Instead, he is going to be making a claim to his insurance company now for probably, and I am taking a wild guess maybe $20,000 maybe more. I know in the video he said he didn't have enough. I have no idea how much coverage a person can get on a double wide trailer is. He will start rebuilting. Like most people, I am am probably a little short on my home insurance coverage and need to look into that since it has been several years since I did. I just updated my auto insurance 2 months back.
  9. I should have included that was from 1990 and still my best buck. I got it on the jr. hunt that yr.
  10. I see my bad grammar/writing skills, lack or proof reading attacks again as well. going back to clean that up a bit. I did some edits.
  11. I finally picked up one of my deer heads from my parents house and brought it home. It is holding a 20 gauge shot gun, from about 1948-50. I looked it up once. Behind the gun and out of sight is the .270 brass and Lead that killed this buck. I picked up the brass and kept it in my pocket until we got to the taxidermist. When we skinned out the deer, dad found the lead and I ask him for it. He didn't know why I wanted it but he gave it to me. I already knew the deer was going to be mounted and I had a plan in mind. When we got to the taxidermist and ask him if he could put them on the board as well. It was funny as Dad did not know had them with me.
  12. One of these days, we are going to have to have long talk with that boy(Jethro),
  13. edit, remove
  14. Grade on curve About 2 minutes in
  15. If Glen tells me to pick up the serpent and drink deadly poison, I don't think I will be doing that either.
  16. I wonder if Fire Departments are setting themselves up for trouble with rural subscription based fire protection because what if say there are 2 fires at a time at 2 separate subscribers and they can only respond to 1?
  17. Well, it was a strange day, 5 guys showed up at my house that day. It was back In Late June on one of those Hot 100 degree days. 3 guys showed up to do the job, I guess you would say the grunt work. They ended up needing to call another guy to bring up some additional Duct work as they were just a little short for the job., That was the 4th guy. A 5th guy showed up later in the day, not sure what all he did but I know he went in and programmed the thermostat. I guess that is when the confusion set in. One of the guys installing and been telling me, lets say educating me on how heat pumps work as I didn't know. I will tell you this. I watched the guy program it, back in the summer and I had told him I wanted the gas to come up as a higher temp then normal and he was telling me that really wasn't scary but I remember he changed it from 35 to 40 before the gas would have changed over. He also told me that was the installer section of the thermostat. Had I know this fix was just a reprogram of the unit, I could have done. Because the guy that sold me the unit told me I could set it to either have a soft glow or have the back lite off if not using it. When first setup by the first guys the back lite was off so I didn't say anything as I preferred that. After the last guy programmed it and left, he had turned the back lite on. I found the only way to turn off the back lite was to get into the installer setup and change 280 it from a 1 to a 0. I have complete directions. However believing I had the other outside unit I could never have set it up correctly.
  18. Not a lawyer but I tend to agree, during normal school hours M-F say 8 am to 5pm a school type, however can't forget about those Wednesday night services not that I have been to one on Wednesday night in forever. I know I am going to badly mis quote the AG as I am not certain where to find the AG opinions so someone will correct me. I know I read somewhere about the AG has an opinion on I believe local parks when being used by schools, may turn in to a non carry zone with out being posted. So this is my opinion I believe a Church would only be a no carry zone under the laws covering schools, when being used by or for a school for a school function. Sunday school is a Church function. Vacation Bible School is a Church Function. However AG opinions are just that until ruled by a judge and or made into law.
  19. Well if one shop offered her 300, then she went to WD and accepted 100, it is her own fault. END OF STORY.
  20. Is there anything that says a 21 gun salute can not be aimed at those protesters?
  21. lol, never seen that site. LMFAO, subscription to Anger Management Journal
  22. THe reason it lowerd the temp in my house, the program was trying to heat, but what it was doing was running AC. Example. last night, I went to bed with it off, inside temp was 68, woke up at 63 inside, Outside was like 42. I didn't lose much with it off.
  23. interesting. I have a Halloween Costume idea but nothing like that.
  24. Well, that video tells how the fire started as well.
  25. I know what you are saying, 75 dollars on the spot does nothing, 5,000 on the spot does nothing. The City is needing to get the money upfront to put in a general, lets say Fire department fund that that they can draw on as needed though out the year. Until this event, I had never heard of a Pay time fire service. I grew up in a rural area that didn't even have a volunteer fire department. They have one now back there. Where I live now I have Oak Ridge Fire Department. It is clear he did know about the service as he had paid in years past, even last year. I guess this horse is has been beaten enough.
