I dont' keep up with every think that group does other then I know who they are and I am against what they do. If anyone hears of them planning a protest in East TN give me a heads up via PM and if available I will try to be there in support of the families of the service man/woman against them. I don't have a working motorcycle to help with the honor guard escort but if nothing else I might be able to be there in body.

TSA Out of control: Takes 3year toddler teddy bear and requires pat down
vontar replied to Harold's topic in General Chat
BTW I heard that if you refuse to go though the body scanner and decline the pat down at that point you do not have the choice to simply leave the airport. If you decline you can get a 10,000 dollar fine as well. In the Cast of the man that was declining to be patted down I heard the video where the TSA officer told him he had a choice to not fly, but the tonight I was watching a show and they said and showed a document that if you decline the pat down after declining the body scanner you can not just leave but you face a 10,000 dollar fine. They are using Al-Quada as much more of a threat then I believe they are to thump up security and keep people scared sheep. I am not going to go to much further here other then to say, this is exactly what Big Brother wants and they are using Al-Quada to keep people scared. Plus factor in that Al-Quada would be happy just to have people scared for little to no continued effort on their part. (And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars) -
Thank you, I know I searched for something like that in the past and never found it, I wonder if that has been updated since I last searched. I have not looked in about a year. I know the last time I searched I could not find a law that required a min time for yellow lights. Now I have something to back my complaints with. Thanks. I know I have directly complained to the city several times, I know recently the light I have been complaining about has not been as much of a problem as it used to be. I have raised allot of complaints on it, even with the mayor.

Legal to carry a unloaded handgun without permit?
vontar replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I do not know what OS profession was but I believe he may have missed his calling in the legal department. He certainly is on top of us gun laws. -
Ok, not an expert on how much modifying one can do in the Class III area. I kinda joking and wondering at the same time if you did all the paper work, got the stamp if you could modify down that much, I guess not.

hmmm, adult store sells winning ticket? ouch...
vontar replied to jeremy155rr's topic in General Chat
Honey, serious the last big winner brought there so it is really lucky to buy tickets there. -
I am 100 percent against the cameras the way they are used. I have seen the cameras malfunction here in Oak Ridge. I have been out in the middle of the night with no traffic and I have seen the cameras just flashing about every 5 seconds with Nothing in the intersection. I know a person is suppose to review all the pictures before a ticket gets sent. I would LOVE to see a Review Board of this process and I would love to see the true number of malfunctions and other times the camera goes off when it is not a violation when they determine they need to toss out a picture. BTW, The contracts many cities sign with the camera companies are written in such a way that the camera companies are expected to get X number or dare I say a Quota number of tickets per day. In some cases in some cities when the tickets dropped below that number the camera companies hit the cities over the head with the contract and raised the rate at which they charged the cities and or moved the cameras. I will see if I can dig up some of the information I used to have on this topic. I had a hard drive fail and lost some of it, but I know it is still on Youtube. I believe most of what I am referring to is in AZ. What gets me probably the most upset about the camera's is they keep the Red Light timing screwed up at those intersections. They have very short yellows. In short they do not give a person property time to make a good judgement call whether or not to continue to stop if you are at a certain point even if you are at the speed limit. You then have to decide hit brakes or continue and get a ticket. It is a trap in most places that you can not fight. Places a camera is going to be set, their should be a REQUIRED TIME for YELLOW LIGHT, probably 3 seconds at least. I know places in Oak Ridge are less. BTW, no matter what, if you get a ticket, you have to pay, even if believe it is not yours. Lets say it is a speed related ticket and there are 2 cars in the photo and you believe it is the other car not yours. You still have to pay court costs to fight it. You still lose(money) even if you win. You just can't fight a camera ticket even if you are right and can prove it, you lose more money. Here is an example I got a Toll road ticket from a private company in Colorado in the mail recently. I have never been to Colorado. It was a photo camera that took it and they made the mistake. I believe I have it fixed over the phone. However had that been a traffic ticket mistake I would have to prove it in court. Which would cost me a hell of a lot more then to just pay it.

hmmm, adult store sells winning ticket? ouch...
vontar replied to jeremy155rr's topic in General Chat
I thought that was funny when read that today as well. It was a group of friends that won. I bet that porn shop gets extra business now as well. Numbers have shown in the past, people trend to buy more tickets where past winners have been sold. -
I have to take this, minor hijack, sorry, but under this if someone uses the Class 3 firearm act and modifies a shotguns or rifle with all the proper paper work can they legally call it a handgun? I am referring to directions found in thread at http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-law-faq/21578-what-you-need-know-about-national-firearms-act-nfa-class-iii-restricted-items.html Lets go out on a limb and say, someone modifies a .270 into a shorty, 12 inch barrel, under the class III. I guess it could be called a .270 hand gun. (it kicks like a mule and jumps out of your hand every shot) Or am I combining 2 many laws into something that was never intended?

Going to Detroit, leaving tonight...Which gun to carry?
vontar replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Seriously, Detroit? Have you not suffered enough? I hope you are being paid well to go there. With out checking out the current laws there, I would say everything you can legally get your hands on. Why risk being unarmed when you come up to the first street corner. Ma Duece is a good start. -

In a case with ammo in a separate area of the car/truck is transporting it, while carrying it on your person is closer to going armed. I am not a lawyer nor did I stay in a fancy hotel last night. Wear it around in your home, like the rest us us while you get your HCP. We all had to go though the period of time from class and paper work and waiting on your HCP. Just don't make the mistake of once you are waiting for the HCP to come in the mail to get in trouble with a going armed charge. Someone posted about the trouble one of their friends had to go though for that, I think their friend lost a gun in the process. -
I have heard good thinks about Lisa on this board. I have not dealt with her but I have heard of us, always good. Welcome back to TN.

I am not sure I can give a good answer and I am not sure suing after an event happens would be good either. I have read and agree with, I don't want my family looking down at me in a coffin saying at least he followed the rules, while the criminals just walked past the signs. (Tried my 12, then carried by six). If at all possible, I am going to do business at a non posted business. My wife and I both try to do business when possible with local business' when possible. When Lincolns opened in Oak Ridge, we went, then the Guns in Bars act passed and they posted, I have not been back, screw them. I didn't carry in before, I didn't even have my HCP at the time. Even if they where not posted, I most likely would be a drinking customer so I would not be armed now but since they posted I will not darken their door step. Tonight my wife and I went out to eat. Spent about 40 bucks plus tip. I had about 3 beer, we had a nice meal and she drove home. I went unarmed as I knew I would be drinking.

In short, we need more racing Tech applied to our interstate highways to make them safer. I get it.

Interesting show on Discovery right now, Track me if you can. From discovery We live in a world where we are being constantly watched and monitored. What would it take to wipe the slate clean and live a life free of big brother? Security expert Aton Edwards takes the viewer on an amazing journey off the grid and under the radar. Looks like it will repeat about 11p.m.

Yea, I find it interesting that places that are Posted are making offers. They are getting cheap advertising but if a Vet with a HCP wanted to carry in they would be in violation of the law, how nice of these posted restaurants.

Glad no one was hurt. Good thing that is not something we hear of every day
-
Very true. We can probably add a few more but I know I have said a few of those to my wife and I am still a live.
-
Where did you get that email address. I want to send them a reply but I want to make sure local people see it, not some idiot from another state. I want the local business to get it. I have one written up ready to go, but I am trying to locate another email address that might be more direct to local, otherwise I can use the same one.

I would hate to have been that guy. However I am not certain, was it over thrown or did the catcher just miss? I know by default the catcher probably most of the credit for not catching but it looks it was a little high to me.

I was expecting something like this YouTube - Soldier turns into Chewbacca when hit with a Taser We might have to send you back for round 2

Mysterious Missile Launched over Southern California coast...
vontar replied to Zulu Cowboy's topic in General Chat
Here is something interesting. Some News stories have the Military/Pentagon stateing they had no navy ships in the area. However if you look into the events of the crippled cruise ship stranded. The USS Ronald Reagan is giving aid as of Tuesday, and they said it turned 50 to 60 nautical miles to the south. It or one of it's escorting subs could have been farther north on easy enough on Monday evening easy enough, it is not like they are going to tell us about fleet movements, A carrier like that would most likely travel with a Sub. Another tugboat helps tow crippled cruise ship; passengers welcome aid - CNN.com BTW, as long as the government is not admitting what it is, I want to be the first to call it as UFO for what is truly is, Unidentified Flying Object. I believe it is earthly in nature by all means but we don't know for 100 percent what. -
Mysterious Missile Launched over Southern California coast...
vontar replied to Zulu Cowboy's topic in General Chat
I agree. The base of it was 2 dam big and you could see it' angle into the clouds as well and what appeared to be the burning end. I am certain there would be radar data available from multiple airports that probably tracked it as well as Norad. The Speed would tell the story, a missle starts slow and builds its speed. If it was a one of our missles, I am sure they probably used a self destruct most likely over the horizon.
