  1. as bad as my spelling is, it would be worse if I used auto correct I see.

    WOW

Does that make people feel safer on airplanes? Hell I would not feel safe in the airport now.
  3. That was a really good read. It sounds at least on the surface the company is doing all the right things after..
  4. Congrats. As they said keep your guns handy she might want to start dating in in a few years and you might consider it in about 30 years. First time my wife took me to her house, her Dad showed me several of his guns. I pretended to not to get the reason he was showing me guns and proceeded to check the chambers of each to make sure it was not loaded and handed them back to him. I knew what he was doing by showing me his guns. I think it helped that I was not scared of the guns.
  5. That was a terrible war, but that war helped build America into a Great World Power. I would hate to see what this world would be like had we stayed out of that war until it was to late. I've known a few family members that served during WW2 and I have met some other people. Always thank you VETS and those that serve in the armed forces.
  6. Looks like Reagan on the left side behind the guy on the brench too.
  7. When I openned up the forum today to catch up, I didn not expect to be reading about KWIK again so soon.
  8. Next time you can't sleep, Youtube will help
  9. I know shortly after this event I know I read that the pilot that filmed this I believe said he watched it for several minutes, almost 10 minutes. A missile would be traveling to fast to watch it for 10 minutes unless that was a cover story after the fact. I have heard the same, as for a diesel everything can be turned off, but the nuclear subs have to keep the reactor and cooling systems running at least on low. They are shielded and insulated for sound as good as they can be, however they still make some noise. However, The diesel's still have to get from point A to B, either by surface diesel power, just below surface with diesel and a snorkel, or as they did in WW2 run surface of the night and electric underwater during the day. However while moving they all make noise, even the Nuclear ones. I know but I can't think of the exact name of the system the US Navy has in the pacific ocean to passively listen for subs, but they is a network of underwater headphones that we used to monitor the Russian subs during the cold war.
  10. I really like his movies. I especially liked how he could keep a straight face though some of his comedy which just added to the humor. Airplane was my favorite
  11. I got my song. I posted on yahoo answers.
  12. Looks pretty good. I am bookmarking the site. As for RedDawn 2. If MGM would go ahead and get it released they could get paid for it. A major solar flare as we know could not directly harm people but all our nice modern toys, which would cripple nations, supply chains would be cut.
  13. I can tell if I don't stop that is going to take all night. I have things I need to do tonight. 1, watch the Walking Dead and other internet reading.
  14. I have to say, all last week, I carried a 38 special daily while out hunting now that I have returned to work, I feel odd with out it.
  15. It is like Dr. Suess wrote our laws. If only we had green eggs and ham in there. I really dislike Oak Ridge City parks being posted. I know I am going to be keeping parts of this thread handy. It is easy to see where his concerns where with the gun buster being from an outdated sign.
  16. I know my walgreens is not currenty posted but if they decide to post I would ask to speak with the manager and advise I would be transfering all my family's meds to another store
  17. I am going to go back to the same place for the fall turkey season in a few weeks. I have never been turkey hunting but I want to try to get a turkey. With my work I will only have 3 days to hunt then as I had not planned for that hunt.
  18. I just want to win an arguement with dad at this point. He and I went around this a few times over the last week. I had no internet access to look anything up when I was at his place hunting either.
  19. I went with Beneficial to science. However I am a bit of a nerd. Guys just think of it as the worlds larges gun in a way. BTW, we have a similar device in Oak Ridge, Spallation Neutron Source. I some how got invited to the Oak Ridge SNS for their Open House when it was just being brought online. Not sure how but I ended up with an invitation and my wife and I went. I drove my rusty o pick up truck back in there to the secure area. They invited us to bring camera's as well. I don't know what hard drive those pictures are on right now I have some, not allot. I have also got to stand next to the Calutron(I hope I spelled right) that used during WW2 to enrich uranium for the early atomic bombs, back in 2005. http://www.smithdray1.net/angeltowns/or/calutronsplowshares.htm
  20. I still recommend all men should wear athletic supporters at the airports now. You don't know, the screener might be just too happy to go to work in the morning. Seriously do they thing that would stop a terrorist? I need a job in government chairing common sense on some thing. I think they should have drug and bomb sniffing dogs along with the metal detectors, if a person sets those off then their would be reason for a more in depth screening. If just the metal detector give them a chance to remove the offending item., if they alert the dogs well pull them out of the line to figure it out.
  21. thanks I just got back from hunting. I am check out the link that OS gave me. I wish exception 1 went into more detail like exception 2 does when it talks about magazine. In short I wish exception one made it crystal clear that there is a difference from chamber and magazine or tube depending on the gun.
  22. Been hunting for a week. I didn't shoot at anything. I saw half dozen doe and could have killed several easy, however they where not in season where I was at. I almost had a shot at a buck that something had scared, I heard it running from a direction I was not expecting but I got ready for it, had my gun ready. I Knew it was a buck the way it came around the hill grunting and snorting before I saw it. There was one clearing and I was ready ( I thought) I broke though that clearing in the brush in high gear. He was darker color then Does, typically for a buck, However I could not see his head to see if he was legal or not. I had only seconds to make the shoot don't shoot call. I did not shoot. He got out of sight. I still believe he was a buck, I saw his ears, I know he didn't have a hugh rack, but I didn't have time to see if he might have been a legal spike. Shortly after he got past me I found why he was running, a dam coyote popped up. I raised my gun and it was gone. 5 minutes later it was back and gone again. About 10 minutes after that suspected buck got pasted me I heard 2 shots around the hill side. I don't know who was over there but I suspect they might have got him. I was hunting close to the TN/KY border. I was on TN side confirmed by GPS and also knowing who's property I was on. I believe the buck was shot at on the KY side as that was the last day of buck season in KY. I was hunting for 6 days. Day 1. Saw 4 deer 5 turkey Day 2. Saw 3 deer 1 coyote 3 turkey Day 3 1 turkey day 4 nothing day 5 1 deer day 6 1 deer Dad got an 8 point day 1 about a mile from me Day 2 another person got an 8 point a mile in the other direction Day 4 another person got an 8 point close to where dad killed his Day 1, it sounded like a small war broke out. I was in a good place, but there were more people hunting the area then dad or I have ever seen. If you drew an X it seems I was cut off in all directions as someone surrounded me on all sides and I was cut off. We had some idiots riding around on side by sides I will only saw I will the game wardens had been there to check. I suspect them of thing I can not prove so I won't go any further. I will try to get a couple pictures out of my phone in a bit, I am pretty tried right now. I have a good picture of a bear track that was found in the area. I debated telling this next bit. I had my phone and I wanted to video it but I was a afraid if I moved 2 much I would scare them off so I just have my memory and you have my word this is true. On day 1, about 9:40 a.m. a mommy doe and her little one came out, about 150 yards away from me. They walked around and I am not sure why but the little one did something and the mommy doe got mad and stood up on her back legs for a moment. After that they went back to eating. (I suspect it tried to nurse) They ended up about 75 yards from me and after about 10 minutes 3 turkeys came out and walked around. One of the turkey's walked right up to the mommy doe and stuck its neck up to her and the doe reached down and they met nose to beak, stood there a few seconds then the turkey walked back to the other turkeys. They All stayed there for about 10 more minutes before they call wondered off in different directions. I still have my shirt tail since I didn't shoot and miss, but I have I at least get a shot before season is over. I am going next week on my off days. Plus I took Doe season off. I Know where I can fine a Doe. Also with all the turkeys I saw and heard I plan to go fall turkey hunting when season starts in a couple weeks.
  23. What about a self-defense pistol carried while driving to/from the hunting spot? I'm wondering how the game wardens look on that...don't want to be accused of "road hunting".
  24. I was trying search first. I know I have read many threads about this but would like help finding the actually law. I am looking for help finding the Law about HCP and how it relates to long guns with ammo in the Mag or tube as long as one is not in the chamber. Search lead me to http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tennessee-politics-legislation/36520-carrying-loaded-rifle-shotgun-vehicle-now-its-legal.html and I got most of the answer I needed from Fallguy and his post but at least one of the links has changed. The amendment part was still there. I was wondering what if there are any opinions on how Game Wardens would view this while hunting, going to and from a hunting spot? (don't worry I don't need any warning about road hunting, I know better and have an actually plan) If there are no conflicts as to when it comes to hunting I might just load my mag with 4 and go.

    Dear PETA

I don't like PETA. However, I do agree they have the right to their opinions. My opinions are very different. About 12 minutes into this Vice President of Peta admits she needs her animal based medicine. Yet they are against animal research. This link is not work safe. It is from Penn and Teller's Bull**** show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9ijLulwUTY&feature=related
