Anderson Co, Oak ridge and others are listed but are offline Anderson County, Tennessee (TN) Live Police, Fire, and EMS Scanners on RadioReference.com Well I took a stab at it. I gambled on a Iscan from Radio Shack tonight. The guy came down 40 dollars off the listed price while I was standing there. Told me how easy it was to program and it was almost self updating online. I brought it, read the directions, figured out how to program it, I could not get Oak Ridge city, I was getting frustrated. Then I updated the SD card from like version 6 to 59. the update I downloaded from the internet from dated Dec 11, 2010. Then I was able to get Oak Ridge City going on it. Currently listening. From what I can tell, looks like all the programming it down via browsing the channels and setting up playlists. I do not know if you can manually input any if they are not there. However I will say I am happy to have the City back in for now. I have found a few online scanners before but I never found Oak Ridge City that worked.

Well, i found out they don't do trunking programming. They would do the normal channels, I can do those and I found they don't have the new Oak Ridge numbers either. I guess for now I am waiting for more informaiton.

Here is my scanner. http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/Radio%20Shack%20Pro-97.pdf
-
My scanner is trunk capiable but might not be able to handle digital. I just called a second radio shack, they seem to know more then my local one. I just happen to be going that way soon so I am going to take mine and talk with them in person. I might get lucky. From what I can tell, at the very least Oak Ridge has changed channels. Mine probably needs to be programmed from scatch.
-
I believe they have switched to a digital trunking system in my area based on what a person at radio shack told me. I no I can no longer pick up the City of Oak Ridge on Channels I used to. I Just looked up the frequencies I had on those channels and they are no longer listed on the big list and other sites. My current scanner is a Pro 97 Triple Trunking model. Radio Shack told me yesterday that Oak Ridge is switching to Digital or may have already switched, and or choice they sell the new scanner but the person working did not know anything about it. So I am starting my research, before I consider buying a new scanner I want to make sure I am getting correct information. I still pick up other things, my scanner is not dead. At first I was thinking I just needed to totally reprogram my scanner but that does not appear to be the case now. I only found one channel or frequency for Oak Ridge City on the scanner list, I added it to mine and I have yet to pick up anything so I suspect it may be digital. I don't sit around my house and keep one turned on all the time but when crap is happening I like to be able to turn it on and listen.

I bet they don't turn down Holiday pay on Christmas either. I never met anyone that refused Christmas Holiday Pay or the day off (excluding some places that are required to remain open and normally those people get paid extra to be there). I know if I work a Holiday I get double and a half to be there. I have never known anyone to say I did not believe in Christmas and re enforce their point of view enough with I will only work for my standard wage thank you. Seems a true atheist would just reject the extra pay at least on that holiday.

Interesting, I might do it next year just 2 much cash going out this time of year. I just found out I guess NRA memberships are not a full year depending on when you sign up. I joined in July figuring I signed up for 1 year and I starting getting renewal notices in Nov. Well if anyone has any left a couple weeks in to Jan. I might be able but certainly let others that are ready inline infront of me. Consider me later if there are any left but like I saw I may not be able this year.

Theif Steals Your Car and Causes Harm - Now You Can Be Held Responsible

Clarky07, that helps me understand a policy at a factory I worked out. They provided safety equipment and if they caught you not using it or not using it correctly it was grounds for a write up. X number could lead to any form of action including termination. 2.5 years there, I never had a write up, although I did have to minor injuries, which they covered. -

Holy I just read though this thread catching up. I went back to the News story, probably the main reason for this suit against the owner is . Appears they never determined who the thief was. I know over the years I have heard of times where it was suspected a person wrecked a car, then got it reported stolen before it was found etc. Never knew anyone first hand that did this. Perhaps they are suing the owner as they suspect that, using the keys as proof of no forced entry type of thing.Moving on. In a case like this, if it is allowable to sue the owner and win, even if the thief is caught, next would the thief suing the owner as well. Something like car probably had a poor crash rating he was not property informed about and he will probably get a suit to see for personal injury against the owner. Kinda like when they break in a home, get hurt and sue. -

Not the thread that Trekbike is referring to, I think I need to see it as well, but here is another one, FIrst post. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/50205-thp-traffic-stop.html -
As Think ABout it pointed out. I would recommend Window 7 64 bit this day and age. Most systems now you are probably going to be aiming for 4 GB of ram to start maybe more in the future. Depending on what your use it. Right now myself I would not built a system for myself with less then 4 and I would probably go with 8, but I do some gaming. Kinda taking a gaming break right now.

Check Tigerdirect.com I have brought some nice refurbs there. I have got good deals. Just try your best to avoid rebates which they have gotten much better at over the years. Couple years ago, I got a 1600 laptop for 800 I got mom a desktop cheap with 6G of ram almost 2 years ago. I hope this link works Win 7, refrubs, price, low to high, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?Recs=10&Nav=|c:5138|&Sort=4 If you can, i recommend, trying to avoid Integrated Graphics. I generally built my own from the MB up. However I brought a gateway laptop I have been nothing but happy with. I did by my wife an acer desktop a few years back because I wanted her to have a new machine and not feel I just frankenstein her one out of spare parts. I also brought the gateway desktop for my mom for the same reason. I think gateway makes a pretty good machine, followed by acer. At work I deal with dells to much and i don't' like them in the work environment, perhaps because they are cheap models but I won't buy one.

well, I see However I still want to post. I got this first 2 tonight of the Friendship Bell in Oak Ridge However since you have what you need I will for go sending them as email unless you decide you want them. I just wanted to ahead and share them at this point anyways.

I have heard of this before. Look how close they have to get to you to read it. I am sure on a subway in a crowd it would be possible. You can also block it with aluminum foil folded in your wallet I believe. I know I saw a video on that as well.

That is suppose to be correct, as long as you cross the line while it is still yellow. however don't ask me to prove that in written law anyplace. My understanding is the violation does not occur until you cross the white line with it in RED light, hints running a red light, not running a yellow light.
-
I was looking for a different case of increasing yellow light times for safety reduced tickets but I found this one instead. The other one I was looking for I believe was in AZ. I will probably find it later In the other one, when the tickets dropped under a quota the camera company by contract was aloud to charge the city even more. source PhotoBlocker : Manufactures and sells License Plate Covers and Photo Spray, to defeat Photo Radar, Speed Cameras and Red Light Cameras. Avoid traffic tickets.

Here is one, Nov 2009 http://www.oakridgeobserver.com/images/stories/archives/November%205%202009.pdf It looks like back then the City of Oak Ridge had already paid RedFlex $250,000 dollars back then. There is even a break down of tickets, red light/speed, Resident and non Resident. The Archives don't' go back far enough but the story about the person getting the 36 and 37 mile per hour tickets in a 35 zone, at the time the zone was not posted correct either. I still have that newspaper.

if there is any way you can scan and black out any personal information I would be interested in seeing what they actually sent. Also where they want want payment sent to. I will try to dig up some of the info I used to have on them.
-
I live in Oak Ridge. I hate them. I bet I know which camera got her. I thought they had to give you a link with a picture/video. I have yet to directly see how the tickets are actually done but I know they take pictures. I have not see one of the tickets first hand. Tickets I have heard about, did include locations, time of day/date, speed, posted speed and I believe pictures at least. If hers does not contain any of that I would question it. Also camera tickets are i believe only suppose to be like a parking ticket, considered a non moving violation but don't quote me on that, I am not a lawyer. There are so many humors about what is and isn't legal about them. I have heard of people getting tickets 1 and 2 miles an hour over the posted speed limit by some of the cameras. Just a wild Guess I bet she was on N Illinois ave, where Robertsville rd crosses. The camera are set to get north and south traffic and guess what. Both sides is a down hill coast to the Red light and it is very easy to go over the 35 mile per hour right there. It is also a School zone part of the Day which drops to 20 or 25. This is the cameras I have heard about one person getting 2 tickets back to back days, one for 36 and one for 37. There are a few others around as well. I believe I know were they are all located.

With short notice. I will try to get you a couple things in Oak Ridge around the Park. I can think of 2 things that might be nice, however weather will be a factor. I would go right now but the Christmas Parade is about to start and taking up one of the area's. Couple things in mind like the Friendship Bell, http://www.brpas.org/g2/d/10956-5/Friendship_Bell.jpg This is not my work, I just googled it. I assume you need a fresh picture.
