about time I get to add this joke. Marry a Lawyer and Get Screwed A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands. On their wedding night, she told her new husband, "Please be gentle, I'm still a v1rgin." "What?" said the puzzled groom. "How can that be if you've been married ten times?" "Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative: he kept telling me how great it was going to be. Husband #2 was in software services: he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me. Husband #3 was from field services: he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up. Husband #4 was in telemarketing: even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be able to deliver. Husband #5 was an engineer: he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method. Husband #6 was from finance and administration: he thought he knew how, but he wasn't sure whether it was his job or not. Husband #7 was in marketing: although he had a nice product, he was never sure how to position it. Husband #8 was a psychologist: all he ever did was talk about it. Husband #9 was a gynecologist: all he did was look at it. Husband #10 was a stamp collector: all he ever did was… God! I miss him! But now that I've married you, I'm really excited!" "Good," said the new husband, "but, why?" "You're a lawyer. This time I know I'm gonna get screwed!"

Did the Congress Woman Have a Gun?
vontar replied to TnEngineer's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Agreed, like in war, they say you never hear the one with your name on it. She was probably the first target. I do not know for sure. If you are the target and you are not aware then as said the assassin has the advantage to pick and choose when/where to shoot. I also believe she would be against all the anti gun law crusade being carried out in her name while she is in the hospital (I hope I am right, I am tried of eating crow). -
that is how it was when I worked with I used to work with tnxdshooter in Oak Ridge, they gave us 6 months notice, and pretty much told us to go find other work. I believe they even told us they did not require a 2 week notice if we found a job just give them as much notice as we could and it would not be held against us as they had gave us notice they would be laying us off in 6 months. I found a job that was hiring in 4 weeks and I worked to the Friday before, (gave 2 weeks, I took 2 days off then started my new job). They even let people leave work to go to interviews, I left work to go take my drug test. Once they give you notice, you can't pass up a sure thing job over doing the right thing and giving 2 full weeks notice if it costs you the job in this job market.

I will put it this way, I like an alarm that will wake the dead. I want an alarm that is so loud they know the tripped something and I hope they their pants dropping my to get out. Sure a camera is nice but I want a loud alarm with a flashing light to disorientate them as well. Image, 110 db siren Flashing lights and barking dogs (also a recording but they would not know that)

If you go back to my early posts on the board before I got my HCP, I was asking call kinds of questions about the class, even posted a picture of my shots at the B-27 target asking if that would pass. BTW, at the class my shots where much better then my practice. I was probably one of the biggest worry warts, now I can't way to get my wife into the class this spring. I have her shooting now, she never shot a gun before last summer. Also, the very last 6 shoots and maybe this was my instructor, but he had us move back to the 3 yard range and, gave us instructions that when the command was given to fire as fast as we safely could aim and fire. I just opened up, probably the fastest I had every shot 6 shots. Also something else, at the very beginning of our class, the instructor ask who in the room had any CPR/first aid training. I put my hand up. He said if anything happened he would take lead and I would be backup. He then pointed to a big sign. Clearly marked with the location/address and picked 2 people if an emergency happened to be 1st and 2nd to make a 911 call if needed. Very well organized Let me add, my class was not at Coal Creek Armory, just speaking about my experience in general.

I don't know about the one in Knoxville, but the RT Clapp in Oak Ridge has treated me fairly the few times I have dealt with them. I looked the one in Knoxville just now on the map they are 2045 E Magnolia Ave, Knoxville, TN, which is a bit East of UT, closer to Cherry Street.

With a year, you have time to squirrel some away and time to search for and equal to better job. That is at least a bit of good news.
-
Maybe that is part of the lesson. Don't over prepare for it like I did. Make sure you and your fiancee know how to handle the firearms you plan to take the class with. Make sure both of you know how to operate your pistols, load, use the safety, and are able to safely put some shots down range. The class/test don't' sweat it to much.

With only 3-4 computers, I would lock down the DHCP pool as well, with Static IPs. If the router has wifi, unless you are using wifi in the office I would disable it. If you are using it, I would enable encryption WPA2. DHCP would be fine, should not effect speed in any measurable way with only 3-4 PCs. I can not help with the quickbooks part as I have never used quickbooks. I use static IPs in my house, but you don't even want to know what I have going on. Multiple PCs, 2 xbox media centers, 2 laptops, 2 droid X wifi (those on a separate wifi with only 2 wifi DHCP IPs) 4 linksys routers, all of which have been hacked with 3rd party Firmware DD WRT, 3 of which are acting as wifi bridges. I have everything encrypted. I really need a tinfoil hat just to walk around in my home due to wifi pollution.

Sorry to hear about your job. Here hoping you find one soon I am going to send you a PM to a place to look into, however I assume the closest office I know of to you would be 2 far. I do not know if they have anything in Memphis or not. But it might not hurt to look with all of your certs. Mike it the nail on the head. I have said it for years, if your jobs could be done at home or remotely, it could be done in another country just as easy and they know it. About the only jobs that are safe are jobs that require a person hands on. Low tech jobs are the safest, manual labor, the things we were told to go to school to avoid remember? I remember my dad telling me to go to school, get an education so I would not have to work in a breaking my bad in a coal mine or factory, but if they keep sending all these good jobs overseas that is all that will be left.

OK, I bet most of you forgot after a few weeks, fuel will be a major problem. I have a solution. Going back to my Anti-Zombie Transport. Since I picked a diesel fueled snow plow, it can also run on bio fuel. Once diesel fuel becomes short, my plan is Zombie to Fuel Technology. Now that I have your attention, this is my patent pending idea, call Z2F. It is a bit gross, and one must wear all the protecting clothing required for this process but once mastered fuel should not be a problem for the foreseeable future. The process is to take the zombies that have had to be perm killed (double tapped) and render them to separate the fats/grease from the other tissue. The process will also work on zombie that you may fine dead that others have killed and other dead animals. Run the grease though a fine metal mesh to separate most of the objects you do not want in the fuel. Then use the finest fabric or other screening device available. Remember the more you can refine your fuel the better. I am not suggesting trying it, but make sure you do not use any of your cookware for this, as eating even a small amount of zombie is known to be highly toxic which is why birds and insects avoid zombie corpses as well. I believe the process of rendering would kill the Solanum virus and or the T-virus, but I would not risk my life on it. Be careful Protective clothing at all times when working with this fuel. (also remember, even though a diesel engine can run on bio fuels, there are some conversions that are remember to prolong life. Deterioration of rubber fuel hoses can occur and make it more reliable if you change the rubber fuel hoses to Synthetic hoses)

Dad and I were a pair of the TN hunters. I will say while I was in the woods I heard many shots files and I saw some dead deer. I did not hear of one person injuried around where I was hunting either.

Ok, here again, I let you guys run while for a while. Now here is my idea. Fuel, diesel so bio fuel is usable as well. I have room to haul supplies. Enough light armor to protect against zombies, could be upgraded to protect against small arms if needed. Just pick one up at your Local DOT when the time comes. Also this is well with in reason for most of us, if/when the time comes.

Oak Ridge, so I guess I had to go with Ktown.
