  1. However, the suppressor falls under the National Firearms Act (NFA) Class III Restricted Items. They should have included it takes about 5-8 weeks, sometimes up to 6 months for the background check and to be approved for the tax stamp. My information comes from http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-law-faq/21578-what-you-need-know-about-national-firearms-act-nfa-class-iii-restricted-items.html
  2. Tonight at 9pm eastern. New show Direct TV 278 I believe Sons of Guns : Discovery Channel
  3. I think those shops are called stop and robs. I don't know, those signs generally keep me out if I can avoid them. I prefer to spend my money where I am welcome and not disarmed.
  4. I think the law should define how the posting should be. I believe the posting should be post the same as the No smoking signs they are so proud of. Notice, it is never hard to spot a no smoking sign, they put them in your face, but the GB is sometimes almost hidden like the OP found. I think the GB should be required to be so close to the door handle to make it legal. It should also have to be of at least a set size. I know places where it is 90 degrees off set to the door of a building where you could walk past it and not even know about it, because it is posted high and to the left or right of a door not in plain sight. Wouldn't that fall under, they only posted the section inside past the second set of doors, like they partly posted the building, the first section sounds like it is not posted.
  5. I second that motion. all in favor? I am sure he was just cleaning it, you know the only way to clean a loaded gun is to pull the trigger first right?
  6. I expect this all to turn out bad.
  7. I bet right now the factories that make High capacity mags are offering all the OT a person could work and are turning them out by the semi truck load asap. If someone owns a factory and is not producing them on mass right now they are an idiot. If there was one of those factories close to me I would be knocking on their door asking for a job. When not working at my main job, I would be trying to work there too. Funny, I am able to get 40 a week and sometimes up to 8 OT and I am looking for more. What is wrong with me.
  8. I bet we will have runs on ammo again. I am mostly stocked up, I bet I buy more too.
  9. steaming :poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop: If I say anything else on this subject I may get banned I just found the limit is 30 per thread post. Next we will have a symbolic jester by republicans to repeal it like Obama care, even if they can't get the votes. However I wonder what they will do next term with they get all 3 branches of government if they will repeal anything then.
  10. I have recently been finding myself more interested in books. One the topic has to really get my attention in some way. Right now, I have a topic on my mind that I want to explorer a bit deeper and I expect some of you know more about some authors and perhaps may have read some of these. Right now I want to find a good book on John Paul Jones. My first search on Amazon turned up this Amazon.com: John Paul Jones : Sailor, Hero, Father of the American Navy (9780743205832): Evan Thomas: Books , and I thought it might be exactly what I wanted, then I found another that might be better based on reading reviews.. Second choice, Amazon.com: John Paul Jones: A Sailor's Biography (Bluejacket Books) (9781557504104): Samuel Eliot Morison: Books I thought maybe if people here have read either of them or might have some insights on the authors it might help guide my decision. the authors are. First one, Evan Thomas Second one, Samuel Eliot Morison I am not a fast reader so I probably don't want to read both. I still have not read Lone Survivor, however I did pick it up and it is on my list to read. I will get it read as well. Then again someone may have other recommendations as well on this subject. I know there was a movie made about him in 1959, but as I understand it was pasteurized for an Ozzie and Harriet audience. This got me thinking, It might be time for Hollywood to right a wrong and remake a movie that needs to be remade. However they pro baby would not do that some a subject that just might stir patriotic feeling in people.
  11. She is the resonsible party. Hold her accountable.
  12. I believe that is a Class 3 firearm, it may cost you a 200 dollar tax stamp. confirm with your local gun shop.
  13. I know my wife used one and when we canceled a few months later they reactivate and started billing her again. She had to complain to the CC company to get it stopped and refunded. It was rhapsody. Also with rhapsody unless they have changed, once you cancel, you lose the rights to anything you paid for while using it and the license expires. So you only have your music while you are a customer.
  14. Well I got all 8 of my hours of OT this week. I still have 24 regular hours to work, however they did not approve me to work any more OT. Only 48 hours this week. (trying to get as much as I can as we know there is something going to change this summer and we do not know how it will affect us, may be good, neutral or bad). So I am trying to rack it up while I can, pad the saving, 401k, stock options and visit my doctor and get everything in order. In short, stay prepared. If it is neutral to good, then I am just that much better off.
  15. Is that your way of say you want to be included? BTW, I thought tngunowers was the only (cough) gun club in TN.
  16. True, the bank has insurance for the money. Kinda like defending a 3rd party, it can be risky. My family and myself first. The bank should have had better security in the first place.
  17. What Snow, I just got up in Oak Ridge TN, still rain here Bring the Snow. I am only allowed a few hours of OT a few and after that I have to get approval. I have already done half of my OT this week and going to get the rest this morning and if others call out I may be able to get more. I love SNOW
  18. Personally I would have liked to have seen a parking lot bill before the carry in bars. Perhaps because it would benefit me more. Were I work, I can not leave my pistol in my car at work or have it on me at work. Not a major deal for me as I have a short drive, but I know some people that drive about an hour to get to work and it affects them driving 2 hours day with out their gun because they can not have it with them traveling to and from work because they can't leave it in their car. (work has a standing policy of possible searching cars/trucks on company property although we have never known of them doing it.)
  19. His note probably had a picture of a glock.
  20. Most of AT&T tech support is in India. Comcast has support in Knoxville. I used to support Bellsouth fast access, before AT&T brought them back, and last week, I was helping a person with their AT&T and I only needed the password. The password call was 15 minutes with the tech in India. No problems, no problems verifying any information, he just took about that long to get it reset. I was not taking him how to do anything to the equipment. He actually had more questions for me about what I was doing, why I needed it. I just needed it as I was resetting the modem to put the router in PPOE mode and not using the modem to authenticate. I waited until I was off the phone with the tech before I did any of that. While I worked for Bellsouth, they didn't ofter of a good package and I got a better deal with Comcast. I have been with Comcast since 2001, actually since it was a service called @home then Comcast brought them out. Broadband is like real-state, location, location, location I would not take AT&T for 20 dollars a month right now I am so happy with Comcast, however I know some people hate Comcast and love AT&T. It comes back to location.
  21. This is going to be an interesting thread to watch. I am starting to look for a gun safe and my concerns is wil my floor even hold it. I am considering putting block under the floor where the safe is going to go before getting it. Still a bit concerned bringing it in.
  22. stealing this from my wife. She came up with this yesterday when reading about this. Calgon take me away
  23. I carry in Y12FCU as it is not posted. Someone even posted a while back that they talked to one of the higher ups about it and was told they would not post either.
  24. Don't under estimate a .22 headshot on a zombie. You can carry allot more ammo and it is just as effective in range..
  25. Remington Model 33 This gun has some age on it, from I believe I am the 4th person to have this gun. Dad had it as as Kid, as did his dad. Dad new who brought it new. Allot of people in the family has tried to buy it from dad as well. It has probably killed 1000's of squirrels and other game.
