Here is a good question, why are some traffic schools as much as 122.50 they send you too, instead of letting you take the 50 dollar ones on line that some people get to take to avoild the points. In short, why do some people have to pay more while others have the option to pay less? The cars did not touch but I got the failure to yield ticket then. My rate did not go up. A few years ago my wife had a minor accident in Knoxville and our insurance paid for damage on the other car and we submit no claim on her car. She got the ticket on that. Our rate did not go up and we kept safe driver discount. I am starting to think just a couple points won't hurt, If they drop off in one year. I was wondering if the insurance really checked. I know a few years back she got a ticket and there was no dispute and we did not notice a rate change. So it would be about 250 to avoid points if the judge would give traffic school. Plus have to consider the lost day of work to be at court. So about 350 verse 90. So really $350(with lose days work) to keep the 4 points off the record or pay 90 and risk it hitting the insurance some.

Pulling out from a stop sign, she got a failure to yield ticket. We disagree with it, however her word against his. He had to get turned around and come up though traffic to get her pulled over on a narrow road. It seems the ticket will be 90 dollars if she just pays it. It is 4 points on the driving record. 1. We are not sure if the insurance would automatically find out about that and change any rates or not. 2. If we decide to try to dispute the ticket, thanks to our legal system instead of justice system, we have to pay court costs even if we win. However assume we lose and are offered traffic school, we pay court cost, ticket, plus traffic school it will be expense but keeps the points off the records per the city website.
