  1. Well it is not a Duty to assist, but it is option if you fear for a 3rd party but you had better be right (big example you don't want to step in and mistake a plain clothes LEO for a bad guy). You can also be a good witness.
  2. I knew a person that used them to quit. He liked them pretty good. Also he used them indoors. I as a non smoker could not smell anything beside him. Be careful, there are some pricey scam things out there that try to get you to sign up on packages. They hook you up on a free setup but sign you up on a membership and deliver you products every month. Don't join those. Do some research. My aunt almost got sucked into one of those scams. She got out just in time. My Friend at work, brought the E-cig, a recharger and refills. he had what seems like a bit of an investment upfront but then his refills were dirt cheap. He was recharging the e-cig instead of buying new ones like some of the plans.
  3. the trigger has to be pulled, unless the gun is in serious need of other repairs. Remember this next time someone says a .22 pistol is not worth carrying. It all comes down to placement.
  4. Best made good friends with him, you may be seeing allot of him. Lets assume he was just waiting on the school bus with his kid.
  5. Seaslug has hit the nail on the head with a 10 pound hammer. If you OC, you are asking to be checked. Be glad TN allows OC with a permit. The way our law is written we can at least OC or CC. There are some states that are so stick that if you even print your gun though your clothing you are in violation of the law. It was explained to me once, TN's law was written this way so that if someone was trying to CC and accidentally showed their gun or failed to CC they would not accidentally break the law. Until we have constitutional carry, expect to show your papers, er, your HCP if you OC. If you OC, and are checked that is time you will not get back. Just another reason I CC.
  6. in the Old TN HCP video, a guy returns home and an intruder was in the home and runs toward him and the door. The home own just reacts and shots. Our class was advised that was a justified because the intruder was already inside the home and coming toward the home owner. The home owner is not required to back down/retreat or determine threat. With the intruder already in the home, it can be assumed they are there to do harm. (I am not a lawyer nor a spokes person for one.) I might go to some of my neighborhood watch meetings this year. Just to see what they are about. I haven't went to one yet. A couple years ago, some people a few houses down set it up and it just seems like they want to be in control of the neighborhood. So I have declined to go to any meeting. I kinda felt like who put them in charge. I may go to a meeting and see what kind of people they are this year. This year they went around asking for people's email address's so they could email if someone important happened. I gave them one, figured what could it hurt. I can always block it or auto trash can it if needed.
  7. And that is why I am not a lawyer. I just like to argue. When I was in college, I had some grand ideas of going to law school, however that was not in the cards. I beat the odds finishing high school and then college as it was. However now that I have been out in the world I sure would like to hit college again. I want a do over.
  8. Yea an announcement like that should probably be stuck to the top of each forum, at least for a reasonable period of time (maybe 1-2 weeks) until most members have had time to notice it. Unlike when you call almost any 800 number. Please listen to our menu as it has recently changed. The same dam think has been playing on some of these numbers for years. What do they consider recent. Where I worked I suggested they remove that from the phone IVR (incoming voice recording) to shorten the message and I kid you not one of the people in the meeting suggested if we made that change we would need to make an announcement about it on the phone. They choice not to change the message and left it, Please listen as our menu has recently changed.
  9. LngRngShtr, you are right there are so many possible uses for this. Not just burns but many open sores I bet. I beat even after surgery to reduce scars as well.
  10. I also wonder how effective it would be on a massive riot. Every weapon has it's intended use. I believe that would be ineffective on a large crowd, say 1,000's. Small Gang where you could take out the leader or members new each other it would have more effect when they see the impact on the individuals and the effect would not be lost in the crowd.
  11. Yup, allot of time outs this morning for me as well.
  12. Guess he did not learn in basic, never volunteer for anything.
  13. I bet that Jap rifle is gone. I bet ammo would be a bear to get. I might be a nice collector and I bet it has a story behind it. I know a Face to Face in TN should be legal on something like that but for information. Other then just those little forms people here suggest filling out and keeping, any other concerns anyone would have on something like that. The thing probably would not have any type of readable serial numbers. Pre 68 of course and being a war rifle I bet they were not concerned with that in Japan back then.
  14. At least we are in the General Off Top ick Forum.
  15. You are correct. I should not have said they are aloud mistakes, but that even the media makes mistakes. However I was in a hurry to write a funny and I had that pun on my mind.
  16. I guess even the media is aloud mistakes.
  17. To give you a bit more of an idea how we plan to use it. At work, we are on the phone all Day. Headset normally on our right ear. We are allowed to listen to radio/music over an ear bud in in our other ear. So I plan to combine them both to one ear bud, so I have music and the EMS/Fire turns out the music when needed. Myself, I am quit good at dealing with my Tech support job while listening to music in my other ear and recently I have started using the Y connector to listen to the EMS/Fire Radio along with my Music. (A co worker is trying to get me into a First Responder class this spring.)
  18. I feel sometimes Judges need entertainment too. I would almost like to be in the court room that day.
  19. Just wondering if anyone knows if they made something like this. I am going to try to describe what I am trying to find for a friend and heck if I can find one I might want it too. Lets say I have 2 Sources, both have stereo output 1/8 inch. Lets say I have Source A and Source B. One of the sources is going to be plugged into an EMS/Fire Department radio that is only going have traffic/voice very intermittent. The other source will have music 100 percent of the time. The Goal is EMS/Fire Department on Source A Music on Source B The plan is for music to be able to play as long as there is nothing on source A, however when Source A becomes Active is takes over with the switch and gets priority. (the switch goes automatically from B to A) When they finish talking the switch should go back to B. (I am fine with using adapters to get what I want in the end.) If we end up with mono out for both that is even fine. We don't want to break the bank, and it can't be a large device, it can't be a computer setup or anything like that. Kinda hoping something small portable. Right now we have a Y cable so both play though at the same time which can get confusing if when the Radio talks over the music.
  20. I suggest an edit with just a link with your thoughts on this. per TGO David's recent post at http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tn-gun-owners-announcements/53710-read-before-posting-copies-content-other-online-sources.html I need to a score card on this one Moore Pulled a gun on an unidentified man. Unidentified man ran off and is now out of the picture. Another man(Masten) reported the gun Moore used as stolen, which in fact he had earlier sold to Moore. So Masten is now charged with a false police report. Masten has been in trouble for allegedly selling guns in the past and recently charged with selling another gun to a convicted felon. (I almost want to bet the unidentified man is probably known by Moore)
  21. I went to read the News and found something was missing, then I read the TN Gun Owners Announcements. Message has been received.

    Hail Cannon

There we go, I like that idea. Effective or not.
  23. Wow, now they have proved it can work. Now how many years before they start using it on a large scale? I can only image someone that sees this report, knows about this now and a year late might need it and find it is still not available and they end up scared for life when this could have been used instead. I would like to know more and I agree more research will need to be done. However given the choice I bet most people would jump for that over the current choice.
  24. Agreed. Day one in College, my 101 Intro to Psychology class, I remember one of the first things my professor said. He was a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist and he could have anyone of us commented indefinitely, (poor Jamie wonder if he ever got out).
  25. Agree. That is what I meant by saying they are trying to force places to post an invalid sign to try to sneak in a invalid posting. Until a business decides to fight the TABC and leave down the signs and make the TABC take them to court we dont' have a court case on it. However the law a posted
