  1. A few of those rumbling have been good in the C&R forum as well, with pictures of one of the mosins. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/curio-relics-black-powder/57790-mosin-91-30-a.html From what I hear they are 40 to 43 mosins (made during the war, round receivers)
  2. I hate to answer this, but this site that takes public information and created a data base (IMO because they are anti gun and I wish it would be pulled off the web-I feel I should put a disclaimer here. I agree with free speech, just not them putting up a database of those they disagree with.) Tennessee Handgun Carry Permits Information & News from The Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) So go nutz. I use it to look up politicians to see if they care enough to get permits. I found out only 1 of my city council members has a permit for example. Public information.
  3. I watched a show on History about the AK47, it made me want one. (or heaven for forbid a slightly smaller version) In it, pretty much said John Wayne would carry one, because John Wayne was practical. They talked about all the abuse you could put an AK47 though and said if you were to go to another planet and not know what to expect when you got there and could only take 1 firearm the AK47 should be the firearm to take. They said an AK47 should be the first firearm a kid has as there is not much you can do to it to make it not work. One of the guys said he watched an afghan soldier dip his boot laces in motor oil then pull them though the barrel to clean it and that was good enough for them.
  4. plus 1 And Knowing is half the battle. G.I. JOE. Mail that to your congressman. I can't find it now, but there was another story where they were going to use another metal that was going to come from China that was $11/pound. I made a comment that was nice they were going to replace lead with something that weight and preformed the same as lead from China so China could slip in lead later in the process and we would never notice and still pay $11/pound.
  5. Edit, unable to sleep tonight. That is what I always thought, but that section states big game. I thought it was intended for deer season, but it says big game and big game defined in another section on same page as Big game animals are deer, turkey, bear, wild hog, and elk. . The exception seems to be turkey hunts. .So I believe wild Hog requires our Orange year around, unless they change the rule this year.
  6. I deny it. I just like guns. I don't even drink white Russians.
  7. I might like to go pay him a visiit on my day off next week. I believe I have the disease.
  8. At least it is State Park, so you can carry. Nice thing about State Parks.
  9. Per Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Big Game Hunting Wild Hogs are Big Game that just does not have to be tagged and checked out. So it seems we are required to wear our Orange right? ( example if we went hunting them in the middle of summer ) Notice, even archers are required to wear it if archery-only deer season dates overlap with another big game gun season (i. e. bear or boar). I figure a bit later in the year, it might look strange when I hit the woods in non deer season with my .270 wearing my orange. I can image that someone calling the game warden. (there is some guy deer hunting) Game warden comes out to check me out, Buddy what are you doing, Me., Hunting wild hog. I suggested to dad we might go hog hunting / scouting for deer sign a few weeks before deer season. If we don't see any good deer sign we won't waste our time there in deer season. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Feral Hog/Wild Boar for wild hog seasons, (Feral hog season is open year-round on private lands ) see link for others and details.
  10. Great, I bet you brought them closer to me.
  11. Back when I was in college, they had a housing shortage my junior year. So they ask a few of us to move out the standard housing into a 2 story farm house on Campus. It had been fixed up and was nice better then standard housing. 6 of us lived there, co-ed. Now to the stories you actually ask about. We all had cars. So when returning to the house from the outside there was no way to tell if anyone was there or not. I never noticed anything strange actually happen in this house, however when I came home I had a track record of when I put my key in the door and walked in I always knew if I was the only person in. It did not matter if TV's, radio's had been left on/off. There was this strange feeling that I always got when I first walked in. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck when I walked in. So really closest paranormal thing i have experience is the strange feeling I had walking into that place and knowing if I was alone there or not. Again, Nothing strange ever happened while living there as far as paranormal. I never saw anything strange. The following summer I lived in that building by myself. (There was also a class room in this farm house with a lab, it was a pretty good place to live) I was living there the summer TWA flight 800 crashed. One of the professors from the college was over and we had been drinking beer that night watching the news.
  12. That is good to know. Because I know I really want one when I replace mine. The pitch on my roof is steeper.
  13. I hope someone did after the camera faded. They did cut the camera like 2 seconds after.
  14. The white SUV that was behind the car that hit him, did a good job of missing him when cut over to miss the black car. Picture yourself as the driver of the white SUV, you cut over to miss the black car then there is a guy in the road in front of you out of no where. He has to cut over to miss him as well. (this guy was lucky to not be hit again) That driver was good to be paying attentions and lucky to have an opening in traffic to make the turns needed to avoid collisions.
  15. Woot, Now I need to see that, then I need to find a land owner that wants some hogs killed. I this fall I plan to do some hog hunting. I probably won't do much until this fall but I am serious I want to kill a some hogs. I am certainly going to go to Scott Co at the very least. Maybe a few other places I have a good change. Heck, I would like some fresh Hog, I bet dad would too.
  16. not sure why, but you can see traffic slowing down a little in front of him, and his wheels are smoking a bit as he slows down. Not saying he was doing anything wrong, He was alert and trying to stay out of an accident himself; Note the car the rear ended him, also hit the car he was following (double rear-ender so to speak). He was pinned in a bad place with only a second to make a decision. I don't want to quarter back it after the fact watching the video with time, he didn't have.
  17. I know in about 2 years I am going to have to redo my roof as well. I have considered Metal, however I use my Fireplace allot. I have to make certain there is access for cleaning the chimney yearly. My chimney is in the center of my roof. I guess I assumed walking on the metal roof would not be the best thing for it. Your chimney can be reached from the outside edge at least.
