I had a change to buy one right before the recall. I didn't know anything about the recall coming. I was showing them to my father-in-law. I was showing him a place online explaining we could order and he would have to have his shipped to an FFL in KY while I would have to have mine shipped to an FFL local. We started to order but he was not certain were to have one shipped and I wanted to wait about 2 pay checks before I ordered. When I went back, no one one had them.

They have gone 2 far. That breaks the first Amendment and is unconstitutional. I like the example of posting pictures of Mohamed or insulting jokes about political groups. That is still freedom of speech Maybe I shouldn't link it, but there is that company that sells that un PC gun oil, wonder how he could advertise it in TN? I believe this will not survive though the courts.

That being said, I better put one in my hand before I cold order one. I want to try one, as would love a pistol that shots .22 mag. Maybe someone else will get one soon.

If the one of Son of Guns is anything to go by, that thing will need a serious cleaning. To bad it had been defaced. I got some ammo from Privi Partizan for one of my rifles, I have yet to try it. Some 8x56r. Still meaning to take that to the range

I think that is the barrel change. I believe they already changed the barrel on some. I remember a barrel recall a while back. I think we have a board member that has one and got replacment barrel but don't hold my feet to the fire.

I shoot both 3 inch and 2.5 inch in mine. However, you make find some .410 shells don't like it as much. I found some that when the brass expands after firing they they needed help to extract. Federal Premium for .410 hand gun personal Defense work well, as do the Winchester PDX1 which are really made just for it. I really recommend picking up a box of Winchester PDX1 3 copper disc and 18 bbs. I know mine does not like Remington .410 shotgun shells, I found some of them less then perfect, one would be tight in a cylinder, remove it, put another one it and it would go in right. After firing the cheap brass on them expanded more and they tried to get hung.

there has been an update to the Keyhole problem on the PMR -30 keyhole problem. They believe it is isolated to one particular brand and weight of ammunition(CCI Maxi-Mag). PMR-30 Status Update - New Barrels - 1:11 twist and Ammo Recommendation | Slickguns Seems everyone else shoots just fine and this is only a random problem. Maybe they will start shipping these again. Update as of 7/11/2011 At the right price I would buy one, near the suggested retail, I was not going to buy one at the marked up prices they started going for.

well here is my range report after the cleaning. I was at Norris late Friday. First couple rounds it was pretty smooth, then as it got hot, it was harder to open. Problem solved on the spot by cocking it and then working the bolt. (note this was not helpful the last time at the range) During the clean I had found the clip on the face of the bolt that grabs the shells was sticking, which is not free. I am considering doing a spring job on the firing pin, considering if I screw up, I can replace the spring for only 8 dollars. I have recleaned it and I might take it back to Norris tomorrow. However I was able to put 20 rounds though it which was far better then the first range trip so I am much happier, plus I know more about my gun.

is the Super Magnum the one that can shoot 3.5 inch shells? trust me if if is anything like my Rem 870 express synthetic you should be very happy with it. I got the 18' BBL CYL bore. only 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. Which barrel and what is the max shells you can load? I can do 6 plus 1. I knew after the first few shots it was the prefect 12 GA for me. You should be happy with it.

My job can be done from home, however it is one of of those thing if allowed by management. It is allowable from time to time. I have a great record so I can get on the list with no problem; however since I live very close to work, I have less lag then using their VPN with the IP phones. Something about the IP phones over the VPN just don't sound right to me and have a strange echo. So I would rather just drive in. However, I recently changed positions and barely use the phones so I may start working from home again.

I just have not had a chance to get back to the range. Sunday I had a headache from hell and been busy after work. I am itching to try it again now that I have had the bolt completely apart and cleaned.
-
The only reason I was going on about the bore was for those that think there might still be cosmo still in there. I believe this issue is with the bolt. I will probably had out to Norris again tomorrow. Hoping what I have done does not leave me with one stuck in the chamber. Mike if you are out there, would be happy to let you see for yourself. At this point, I am comfortable taking apart the bolt. I have had it completely apart checking it out. (yes I do know how to check and set the firing pin).

termites ate them or we would have received one. Right now, I can not get it to lock the bolt with a spent round. Remove the round and it closes correctly. (these are rounds I shot last Saturday). A co worker suggested it might be the brand of ammo I got and is going to bring me a few spent rounds of some other brands to see, but I think it is something with my bolt. I have went from loading to having problems ejecting to now having a loading problem. Right now I have the barrel separated from the wood I have used a drill, brush and made sure the bore is nice and clean for the next time I do go to the range. the inside of the barrel has been cleaned numberous times. Probably the cleanest barrel I have at the moment(today). I am slowly but surely learning to take the bolt apart and clean it. My bolt has a little visual rust. Part of the problem was the little catch that grabs the round was stuck, I freed it today. It was causing the rounds to not match up to the face of the bolt correctly I believe. ************ EDIT EDIT change to another spent round it worked, hard, had to hit the bolt with my hand but it closed and openned. Keep in mine, no firing to heat up anything.

Check Co Ops and Mayo Garden Center. Last year both had them. Last year I know I brought some at an Ace Hardware Store, it has since went out of Business.

Coldblackwind, somehow I bet my 1932 hex is a bit harder to rack in the next round. Matter of fact, if all Mosins were this tough, I now know why they had those bayonets as standard equipment. Fire one shot and charge. I think the guys over on the pistol range thought I was shooting a muzzleloader, except I was too close and not smoking up the place. I am going to get this sorted out.

nope, still does not like this in the gun. Going go check for the video's jonlisha suggests

I don't think it is the ammo. I am watching this video Mosin Nagant Bolt - Take down - YouTube on the bolt. I just took the bolt apart and I found on the face of the bolt the emtpy rounds are not matching up very well with a small part that was stuck, a small clip. The clip is now Moving more free after a bit of cleaing.. Now just to get this bolt back together. almost got it, however. I don't have the very end back right. so far one part after I set it, is loose which tells me I don't have it in the right spot so have do so the last part over. But I am close. Scatch that, Bolt is back together. out of the gun, the empty rounds are not going up to the bolt better then they did last weekend when I took it apart or an hour ago. Going to chamber an empty and see. I just might have it out at the range again this weekend.

BTW, problem with my Mosin Nagant Bolt Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I took my Mosin Nagant to the range last weekend for the first time I only got to shoot it a few time. It feeds well, however and bare with me, after firing a round it is very difficult to work the bolt up to to the point I had to hit is with the open palm of my hand several times to get it open. The shells are NOT getting hung in the bore. It is not having a problem resetting the hammer I though of that at the range and even pulled the hammer back which did not help. Later I even put a spent round in the chamber and had equal trouble ejecting it. At this point I figure I need to disassemble the bolt. That is the only part of my Mosin I have not taken apart I think I better have someone that knows what they are doing help me with that part. If there is no round in the chamber the bolt works fine, slightly tight but from what everyone has told me, Mosin's are so I expect it is about normal. Maybe it should be a little more free. I suspect it is not grabbing the shells correctly but that is just a guess.

Just wondering, anyone went synthetic mosin nagant yet? I am considering buying a Synthetic Stock for my Mosin Nagant just because. One the wood stock on mine is not the best looking, I haven't got all the cosmo cooked out of it yet (still working on that) There are some interesting Russian marking that I want to leave on the wood or I would have it sanded down and refinished. So I want to keep the wood in the current condition. Wondering if anyone else has brought a synthetic or other replacement stocks. I was checking one out at Advanced Technology Intl, LLC Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R Monte Carlo Stock, MOI0300 Shipped it is only about 65 dollars. If you know a better or cheaper place feel free to clue me in. Place it might be nice to turn my Mosin into a black gun.

a co workers invited me yesterday as well. I haven't had time to set it up yet but I will.

I was discussing blue laws at work and I said they should be outlawed for the simple reason, separation of church and state. No one agreed with me. Funny thing out of the people discussing it I believe I the only religious one discussing it. They had other reasons to keep blue laws on the books. Yup. I am sure some would have been closed for the holiday and others would have choose to be open if giving the option. BTW, many of them are small business and I bet the employee's don't get paid holidays so they end up with a mandatory unpaid day thanks to that law.

I had Austins in Oak Ridge order me on, I think I paid about 120 or 130 for it. It started out I walked in to ask him how much it could cost to have one transfered as I found a place selling them for 75 as I don't have a C&R and after transfer and shipping he was just a little higher and less hassle. I figured I would just have him order. I think he ordered on Friday and I had it on Tuesday or something like that. It was still in the Cosmo and it was a 1932 Hex. Most places charge extra to hand pic you a Hex if the even have one. So I will probably hang on to this for a very long time, o yea the bore very good deep rifling. I got it a few months back, took it apart, cleaned it, but 880 rounds for it and have not even taken it to the range yet. (just been 2 busy at work) I might get it out on the 4th.

I suspect it won't be that long, you might want to print it out and put it in a scrap book if anyone still does that, at the very least bookmark it now. I also suspect you got a better kick out of it then your wife. I suspect she came to you to tell on him.

Man shoots self in head while showing how the safety works.
vontar replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
Rule 4 number point a gun at anything you would not wish to destroy. quote from the trainer at the suicide bomber school, "guys, Pay attention, I am only going to do this once." Review 3 rules for safety. 1. Keep all guns pointed in a safe direction. 2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. 3. Always keep gun unloaded until ready to shoot. You pretty much have to break 3 rules at once to hurt someone or yourself. -
Gov. Rick Perry signs SB 321 (Parking Lot Bill)
vontar replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I was talking to a person in Texas on the phone doing tech support( I am contracted to his company). He told me his company is not going to be very happy about this, but he knows several employees that go to the gun range at lunch time to shoot that will be very happy about this bill. I still want a good solid parking lot bill here in TN.
