I found a holster at the gun show for my Taurus Judge 3 inch chamber. For the past year, the holster I had was so bad I only used it to keep it safe and to go to the range when I wanted to shoot it. This is a Hand made by the Amish, who knew they made holsters. I had no idea. They were one of the few vendors that had leather holsters and I walked over and told him what I was looking for and he picked up a holster with a blue plastic Taurus Judge 3 in chamber in it. He told me a price and before I had time to even think about it, he lower the price. I put my Judge in it and it felt pretty good. After leaving the show I put it on and carried my Judge for probably 8 hour and it was like nothing. Put it on this morning and it just feels natural like it belongs there. I like it, there are some minor improvements in my eye that could be done to make it better but after having my judge for a year it is the best holster I have found so far. However I am talking with someone about having a custom holster made and this one is probably going to be a blue print for my starting point. I have about 4 changes for it and I believe it would be prefect for me.

TGO David, I don't care what they say about you, you are a smart man using big words like 'catharsis'. I had to look it up, but that is fits me exactly. I am not glued to TV, but I have it on, listening to it. Today is not lost on me. I told my wife as much as I don't want to go to NY, I would like to visit ground Zero some day. Maybe I will take a trip there just for that and leave. I don't want to spend the night in that city though.

U.S. Court Rejects Challenge to State's Concealed Gun Law
vontar replied to Tim Nunan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The judges over steps their bounds by pretending to be Nostradamus. In trying to follow form rules, I won't directly quote but the 'honorable' judge said something about if they have access to a loaded gun it might lead to a lethal road rage event. So even though the plaintiffs don't current fall under the category to prohibit them from having a concealed permit they have been blocked from having a permit on the grounds of what they 'MIGHT' do in the future. I did not know they had the technology from 'Minority Report' available for judges yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWL3Uw7872s -
Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2001?
vontar replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I agree. I too went out to buy an American flag, however I was turned off by the fact that everyone I picked up was made in China. I made a stand that I would never own an American flag that is made in a foreign Country. There is just something fundamental wrong if we can not buy an American flag that is made in America. Of course you can buy American made flags but you just can not buy them in every store. -

I was a sleep when the first one hit and my mom woke me up. I was between job at the time. I was between jobs, so I had moved back with my parents for a couple months.. Mom woke me up and I was glued to TV. As soon as the second plane hit, like everyone else, we knew it was at planned event but we did not know by who. Allot of shock, disbelief, after the second plane hit figured we would be at war but didn't know with whom which was scarely. I know I went out and started getting all the cars and trucks filled out and the price of gas was already going up. -
Goes with out saying I will be carrying as well. Heck, I will be carrying today. I don't have a 1911 either.

As I have liked many of the posts above, I agree with most everything that has been said. If/when you have a meeting with the school, remind them they have a zero tolerance policy on guns and she should not be beinging it up nor should she single him out in front of the class. That in fact she was trying to provoke him. If any trouble comes to your son over this, made certain a mark hits her record as well. I remember a drug questionaire when I was in high school, we were took to the library and told to NOT put any names on the form. Of course we all treated it like a joke. question, who would you ask advise about when it comes to drug? one of my friends wrote down stuff like the guy that sells pot, and so on. I wrote down cartoon names on mine. I think Donald Duck was my go to person.

Mexican city plans to train citizens to fire guns
vontar replied to MikePapa1's topic in General Chat
more specifically states that are more restrictive places like Illinois and New York and things like Fast and Furious" in the border states with Mexico. Also I got an email from the NRA yesterday where Alexandria TN is going to be voting on banning Guns in DeKalb County Fairgrounds. We know there are anti out there trying to take this right away -
interesting. Will be more interesting to see what caused it if anything other then an accident. You know someone out there is wondering if it is terrorist. You now some terrorist is like we should have done that, while others are lining up to take credit. Truth will probably be some endangered bird grounded out a wire and later some activist will try to use the power company to make the lines safer.

Mexican city plans to train citizens to fire guns
vontar replied to MikePapa1's topic in General Chat
So that is where our gun rights are going, to Mexico with everything else. I knew or jobs and other things where being shipped out of the country but I didn't expect them to quietly ship some of our gun rights to Mexico of all places. Thanks ATF and project gunwalker. Since I never served in the Military, I have considered putting some time in on the civilian border patrol, but right now I can just really get my own bills paid. -
at least there is no red eye. You might have a trophy, let it grow up

I don't want to have to resort to this either. Tgo Hats and Tgo Trucker Hats

Got pulled over by Texas Highway Patrol
vontar replied to hammerdrop99's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
glad you didn't get a ticket, now fix it. I know people that would drive around for years with a blow bulb and risk tickets when a .50 cent bulb and 10 minute of time could fix it. -
Any idea when TGO Hats will be available again? I thought there used to be a link around here to order one but I guess that was a while back.

It was funny when I opened it there was a commercial for TN Education association. I thought that was going to be a spoof add leading into what you linked.

Bloomberg wants Washington's help? Wait, Washington and the other founding Fathers already did help. It is called the Constitution and the Amendments. He should really take a close look at number 2. Can only lead a horse to water, just can't make him drink.

Long story short. Saturday out for a 4 wheeler ride we had a close call. I had took my wife on a short trip and on our return home we grouped up with another group to go to another place before going home. I ask how the trail was before going. They told me it was not bad. It had been a few years since I had been on it. I am leaving a bit out out this to make it short. After we ended up though some rough trails, they said don't worry there is an easy way out, kinda made me wonder why we didn't take the easy way in. Long and short, there was this one long and fairly steep hill, not so steep to one should worry to much about but not to take to lightly either. The first 4 wheeler doubled his wife up, no problem, next with doubled man and kid up. Next a solo rider, and another solo rider. Next a Kid followed by Me and my wife. This was a hill that the first group just went one right after the other about 30 feet around. The hill was long but no need to get a racing run at it and not steep enough to worry about flipping. About half way up the kid in front of me lost traction completely. It would not have mattered had I stayed at the bottom and gave him time I would not have seen him for the trees. So there we are, he is spun out and I had to stop behind him. I am worried he is going to come rolling back and crashing into me and my wife. He he yelled back, he was sorry but he had enough traction to hold. I was trying to get my wife to get off my 4 wheeler and get her to go stand behind a tree. My first thought was get her to a safe place. I got her to a safe place. Then I got my self off mine while still holding the breaks. Now I am in a spot that I can get away if he comes rolling back. I ask him if he had any rope and what kind. He did. I surveyed out the options. I directed him on how to get backed into a tree, really his only option to keep his 4 wheeler from rolling back off the hill into mine. Then I had him get the rope and tie mine to a tree to secure it to prevent it from going backwards. At this point both 4 wheelers are safe half way on this hill. I climbed back on mine and tested the grip to see if I could pull out on the hill and I could. I had him un tie the rope and I took mine to the top expecting the others. Come to find out they had went further up on. I walked back down the hill to my wife and him. I decided to use the pistol I was carrying at the time to fire a single signal shot to get attention.(I knew the direction the group was, and I fired into a good backstop in the other direction. I started to shoot a tree, but I considered the land owner and did not) You will love this. I was going to take my taurus Judge along, however we decided for my wife to get some target practice in I would just take the walter P22. The Kid said is that a GLOCK. However the Walter P22 with stingers made enough noise to get the attention as soon as I fired it I heard them fire up a 4 wheeler and turn around. (I believe the reason his 4 wheeler could not make it up the hill, something was wrong with the 4 wheel driver system, I watched, it seemed like he was not getting power to the wheels correctly) However I don't plan on going for a ride with them again. That is not the type of riding I normally do. I am still sore from the ride. We ended up going back down the hill and out another way that was actually easy. I am just glad no one got hurt, that could have turned out bad. Sometimes it isn't what you do, others have just has much impact as what you do or mechanical issues.

And if I remember right, this guy managed to walk back home before police found him at his home right? The police must have had a good idea who he was to have found him after he got home. I don't walk near a school, but the school has their runners run on the public side walks near my home were I go walking. Trust me, I don't even get near the school zone carrying when I go for my walks. I walk a couple streets away from the school near my home, but the runners run about 2 miles or more away from the school at least near my home. I would not want to OC as I know it would just draw unwanted attention. I am sure if someone saw a gun all hell would break loose for a bit. No need to scare the sheep.

A friend of mine was in the Marines and he was instructed to get 50 yards of beach front. He went and requisitioned a backhoe and dump truck. He delieved a load of sand back to his commanding officer. I love all the wild goose chases the military sends people out on. If you want your fill of them, check this out. Got pulled over this morning with handgun in vehicle
vontar replied to 93civEJ1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I figured since you had to call police and wait, there was a time delay since you spoke to a dispatcher. Sounds like you didn't have much time to even put it in the glove box or were ever you put it. Come to think about it, the only time I have been armed and found my self talking to a LEO I was in a GUN shop. No big deal there, everyone was armed. I was probably and most certainly under armed.
