Or this one http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/324792 Almost sounds like someone make this up just to stir the pot and just my opinion but I would not put it past the media. Maybe my tin foil hat is on a bit tight today.

Mom gets 20 years for firing warning shots!?
vontar replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
actually to stop the threat. A shot to center mass normally does that. (remember it is not to kill just to stop them) A co worker suggested a warning shot 6 inches above center mass, but I told him center mass was the warning. -
That should be sent to every one that is against guns.

I still say collecting tax is the responsibility of the Merchant, I don't care what deal the state made with them. It kind of sounds like that deal was illegal come to think about it. I can not leave wal mart with out paying the tax. I can't buy a gun with out paying Tax plus an extra (tax) TICs. I know Amazon is playing by the agreement with the state, but I believe that arrangement the state made with them to be illegal.

I have an idea, He should take us to the Range with his toys.

Parents lost the ability to take care of their own kids when they choose to not discipline and let the kids get away with everything at home and out in public. You know a person has failed as a parent when you see them out in public and the kid is getting the parent what to do and getting it their way all the time. I know everyone of us has seen out of control kids with their parents while shopping. When you see a 4-5 year crying and begging for an item and then the parent gives in and changes NO to Yes , they have just gave that kid re-enforcement that if they act up they get their way, meaning fail as parents and then look for other things(people) to blame. I know my Dad kept me in line and he didn't abuse me either. I don't recall every being a brat to my parents probably because they corrected me if I did early. If a parent does not correct their kids from the start they lose control as the kid gets older. When I was in school like most of you, they had corporal punishment as well, I will admit k-8 I never went a year with out at least one or 2 visits to the hall way. I still support corporal punishment even though it is not considered PC. The hell with being PC all the time.

I do have firefox installed but Testing IE 10 myself and I like it so far.

As I support IE where I work, I try to use it at home. It sounds simple and crazy but we get allot of How to use the internet calls. I mean allot of the calls we get are just over simple stuff. Now I know allot of people don't use computers, but I figure people that are younger then me, that grew up with computers should be able to do the basics.

I will hold back allot. Due to the 9 minute lie, that could taint any testimony he gives in the future cases. Some defend lawyers could use that to state his memory of events does not always match actual events. (the door to door part).

I got this issue resolved. Had to turn on Compatibility mode for this site. Sounds simple now but it didn't jump out at me. I kept lowering security settings until I turned them all off, nothing changed. Turned on Compatibility mode and it started working. Reset security settings.

My wife and I both agree.

Hundreds of thousands may lose Internet in July
vontar replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
I will check in to this later as I don't have time. However I regularly format reinstall my OS on all my computers. My routers do not have default passwords. (routers is correct as I have more then one, non standard router). However I know allot of people do have default passwords on their routers as I have accidentaly got into other people's routers while working on computers. The last time I was working on my in laws computers. I was surfed into the router making changes and it was not fixing the problem I was trying to solve. I finally turned off their router and was surprised I was still connected. A neighbor had another router running all default. You may ask why I used a default password, It was because during trouble shooting I had factory reset their(in laws) router. After I figured out what I did, i put the neighbors router back to the way I found it, changed the channel on my In-laws router, changed the SSID, stopped broadcasting of the SSID, set encryption/mac filtering and changed the password. BTW, the issue with intermittent surf was also fixed by getting their computer off the neighbors network. It was a strong signal that would drop and come back. -
I agree with what you posted btw, I just don't like how amazon is doing it. It is like you get a statement at the end of the year. BTW you owe your state this much money. That was not the terms of check out. I am just saying if taxes are due, the retailer should collect them. I can not leave wal mart with out paying by tax and ask them to send me a notice at the end of the year.
-
Yea but amazon moved in to the state, kinda like newegg did. Newegg charges it but Amazon does not. In a way it could be said it gives Amazon an advantage in the market because they don't show tax at check out and people might choose to use them over another business for that reason.

I searched and didn't see anyone else post this. I am posting because I got my letter from Amazon today and I needed to vent a little. Also wondering if anyone else got them or has opinions. Amazon is now sending notices to customers in TN about taxes from last year. http://timesfreepress.com/news/2012/apr/24/a1-amazon-sending-tax-notices-tennessee/ My thoughts on this ..... Amazon.com is sending emails to customers in TN advising them that they might owe TN tax on items they brought last year. I say there was a meeting of the minds at the time of check out and they gave a final price and any taxes due from that point forward that they did not charge customer are the responsibility of Amazon. It is not our fault they did not change enough. per the attached link ""Amazon.com says it's too complicated to collect the tax; " That is wrong, NewEgg.com started collecting TN tax at check out when they put a location in TN and Amazon can as well. Some of my purchases last year where based on price and I could have went with other vendors such as NewEgg.com.

Does your girlfriend/wife know the combo to your safe?
vontar replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
Yes and if she forget it, it is locked up nice and safe at the bank as well. My mom also knows it. Is that the AR you brought her for some spiecal event, (Christmas) that when she found it you said Merry Christmas and you take it to the range to keep it in good working order for her? -
I just wanted to post and say I am trying windows 8 with IE 8, (the customer Preview) and I am unable to log on with it. When I click sign in, I get the loading boxes up top, however the pop up for the sign in never seems to load. I will check more to see if I need to enable/disable something. So far I have disabled pop up blocker to no avail. I tried to add it to the trusted sites but since it is not HTTPS it would not allow.

My IP with comcast changes about twice a year, and then only if there is a problem at the local hub. It may be different in larger areas though. The last time mine changed was when I changed Cable modems. I used to use Dyndns.org, but now I just use network solutions and forward a url direct to my home IP. I need to update that I guess as I recently changed modems and haven't done that yet.

The past couple months I have been so busy at work, I hated to look at my computer when I got home. I peeked in a few times and do some reading but other then that just been to busy. Things are claiming down a little which is good. I was able to get out and fire up my Grill Last Sunday, was happy to do that. Other then that, not much going on. Nothing to complain about.

I got it for Christmas but I have not played it yet. 360. I get the feeling this thread has not turned out like you hoped

NYC arrests another HCP holder (this one from TN)
vontar replied to R_Bert's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I heard this coming home and thought crap. Next thought wonder how she got up there I hope she didn't fly. Remember a couple years back, similar thing happened in Chicago. Heck, I really would not want to be in NYC with out a gun, guess while that place is like another country I probably never will go. -
One more add. While reporting this, I was carrying. I called in to the police and ask to have a report. It only took about 30 minutes for an officer to show up. I knew since it was a late report it would be low on the list but must have been a slow day. Anyways he walked up and I already had my ID in my hand. I just handed it to him with my HCP on top and advised I was carrying. Just in case he might see it while we were looking at the car, bending down around the tires and such. He never said or ask anything about my gun beyond that which is how I felt it should be since I had not been doing anyting wrong myself.

As for the street parking. Normally my wife parks under the car port and I leave my old truck on the street. 99 percent of the time. That day I came in with a load of firewood and I had unloaded it under the car port and she came in and parked before I moved my truck. Her car was parked on the Street for 1 night and under a good street light. The house across the road even has a motion light that cars sometimes set off. No about the only thing that could have helped other then watching the car and or moving it would be to go back to having outside dogs like allot of us grew up with. They would bark if anyting was strange outside and people would get up and know to check things out. However, in town they would alert to often and not make you any friends with the neighbors probably. A car alarmed probably wouldn't have helped as everyone was most likely sound asleep and they probably didn't touch the car other then the tires. My concern is if they do it again. As for changing up the parking there is not allot we can do. A few years back we had one hit and run in the middle of the night, those are the breaks. I concerning finding out the range of the motion detector in a game camera and setting it up. I don't own one but I might get one. Been wanting one anyways. Might have to test it around the house.

Not far from there, other side of the Hospital off of Pennsylvania Ave. While I was at the tire shop gettinga Police report another person said he had 2 slashed on Nixion which is just off New York the same time frame. He said he also reported it. I am going to try to turn it on on my insurance it might off set some of the cost a little under Comp.
