  1. Notice the media had to dig this up, it happened on July 21st, and reported on Aug. 1st? ,I want itemized ammo count. Since they are just giving a number, they don't seem very certain on their facts. Notice that Black shot gun (possible rem .870) or similar does not even have an extended Mag Tube, it is probably limited to only 5 rounds. EDIT, I didn't see the video until now, charged with having a short barrel rifle? That barrel appears to be at least 18 inches.
  2. That is a good idea a protester lunch. However I believe our CFA in Oak Ridge is still closed for remodeling.
  3. I thought about going to heckle tomorrow, but I don't want to be mistaken for what I am not. However stores should bring in security guards and anyone that isn't actually buying have them removed from the property and ask to not come back. Maybe threaten to even file a trespassing complaint against them and have them arrested if they come back. However, they will just let this pass as I think they are ready for this to drop out of the news.
  4. Well lets make it class action and I will join you. I seem to have the same issue.
  5. No worry in that. Hell, they would rather be caught with porn then a gun site in their browser cache. As for the Hughes Ammendment, whoever votes to repeal that will have a life long friend here. All that is doing it driving the price up on what is on the market. They go up in price every day to the point they are out of my price range. not mine but I like. http://www.facebook.com/RepealHughes
  6. No offense to our local lawyers, but there are to many lawyers for that to happen. I once considered law school myself, however when I found out how much time I would be spending in the library I changed my mind. I only wanted to argue cases like you see on TV.
  7. It's a secret don't tell anyone.
  8. From a New Online OakRidge News newspaper, Oakridgetoday.com http://oakridgetoday.com/2012/08/02/y-12-protesters-plead-not-guilty-face-oct-9-trial/

    TEENAGER KILLS 8

I like. I shared it on my facebook as well.
  10. I really enjoy that song as well.
  11. I wish i had known, I would have went.
  12. I can believe that in this day and age.
  13. However even though the facts are not out, that doesn't slow down people wanting to talk about new gun/ammo laws. I agree with others, I believe he go off less shots then most people suspect.
  14. The other day I was buying ammo in walmart. I picked up some that was on a shelf instead of behind the glass and I went upfront to pay for it. The computer ask if the buyer was over 18 or 21. She ask for my ID and I said I am certainly over 21 and she didn't need it. She didn't ask for my DOB which I would have just gave her. After I told her I was over 21, she thought about it for moment and hit some buttons and it was sold. I didn't go in and plan that, but knowing I didn't have to show ID in the back, I wasn't planning to show ID in the front check out. (I didn't either)
  15. I am ok with them turned off, even on recess. But I don't believe schools should be able to dictate that they cannot have a cell phone on their person so that they can have them for emergencies.
  16. After an unexpected late evening knock at my door a few weeks ago, (long story). That is my policy. My door is also like the inside of a castle gate now, BARRED. Easy to open from the inside, but from the outside, I think it would take several hits from a battering ram to get though. Now If I am outside or somehow a sales person does get my attention, I ask them if they have a permit to be selling door to door. Not sure of the city ordnance but I have heard they are suppose to have a permit to conduct business door to door. I also have my no soliciting sign as well. I have told a few people that I will never buy goods or services that are peddled door to door.
  17. Well, there is away around the online sales with a loop hole. I believe it is aimsurplus that already has an ID system built in.
  18. Wow I don't like this at all. I guess I will be reported, so far reported isn't a crime, Might be ask why. I like to target practice.
  19. I see the same in every day encounters with the general public around Oak Ridge. Hold a door for someone, they just keep on going like you aren't even there. I was raised in a small rural area. Everyone knew everyone. Good manors where just part of it. However like 2 times in my life I ran into people that almost everything they said ended with Thank you honey, thank you baby to everyone, in a few sweet southern accent. I loved it. I remember one lady worked check out at a store in Middlesboro KY.
  20. Seems they took a person into custody after 2 alleged phone calls to a former employer making threats to blow them up. Seems he had been fired from that job. Per the news story, with a warrant his apartment was searched and 25 guns found. He was also wearing a t-shirt, "guns don't kill people I do" Unless the threats can be proved, they don't have anything on him it appears. I could be wrong, but if they can't prove the threat it is case closed right? if he passes medical evaluation? Just playing devils advocate, if a person gets fired and say the employer really wants to make things hard for that person, trump up a charge like that. It would be a he said, they said situation. Even if there was a phone call record, it could be as simple as asking when do I get my last paycheck. (not saying that is what happened) http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/07/27/12993058-maryland-man-found-with-dozens-of-weapons-says-hes-the-joker?lite
  21. The Gun Busters I have seen in theaters have been around the ticket sales window, not at the door. Sometimes they don't even open the ticket window and have you come inside to concessions to buy the ticket by-passing the gun buster as it is not at the door. (at least in Oak Ridge). Gun Busters if they are the law of the land should be of a certain size/color and be required to be on the door. One should not have to examine the entire building playing hide and seek looking for them. However I think they should just hang up a criminal buster instead as that will certainly keep the crime down in their eyes. Signs don't stop criminals.
  22. Yea, at least we didn't get any case law out of it. I have told store managers in the past that have a gun buster that it does not make anyone safer if I disarm, stow my gun in my car where it might be stolen just to visit their store.
  23. I can agree with that, however I was just thinking the FCC could be used a total to hit the media over the head some on their way.
