  1. First I am very glad everyone is OK.     Sorry to hear about all those guns and mags  that fell out  :D
  2. Poor Dog   You have to tell me where to get these 2 year old 10 year life batteries at such a nice price.  Something like that might put me back in the game.
  3. Google.   It was when I renewed by interest in getting HCP.
  4. OS nailed it.   Sounds like Cooper was in the wrong all for trying to avoid some paper work.
  5. I didn't say I agreed, had OP said he had put it down I would have suggested a post deletion to protect him from self incrimination.     I remember the first time Dad took me hunting, someone gut shot a doe.  It wasn't even doe season and it came near where Dad and I was and died. I will never forget the yell that deer made before it died.   Dad was even able to talk to the person that shot it and told them where it was and they refused to go get it or even check it.  He said they knew they shot a doe and were just going to leave it.   Dad set a good example for me, by going and talking to a Game Warden to see if he would go get it.  He wouldn't said he had already collected 4 or 5 that day.  He wrote dad a permission slip to get it.   Dad and I went back after dark and got it.   I remember I was only 8 or 9 at the time.
  6. I tried to get some tonight, however they didn't have it.   So I walked away disappointed with my bottle of Devils Cut..   Mmmm
  7. In a general nut shell.     One, Road kill in TN is not against the law.  Not recommended though. 2.  He is correct, you legally cannot finish it off  He could but normally I believe they get permission from a TWRA agent.   Call TWRA and they will take care of it.   Also road kill deer, you have to have permission from TWRA as Deer has to be checked out so to speak.   No, I am not looking up references tonight.  If I am wrong someone will point it out.     I am not a lawyer and I did not stay as a fancy hotel last night.
  8. I will say this, it makes me feel better that at least a vendor go some new stock in.
  9. I keep looking at solar but batteries seem to be the tipping point.  I figure batteries will last 2/4 years (based on nothing other then knowing batteries go bad) and will have to be replaced.  So the entire battery cost is going to cycle ever few years even if the panels hold up perfectly.   I just find it hard to invest it it where I have my home electric bill down to around 50 a month on average.  Except when I run the AC heavy in the summer.
  10. well I got in, checked the wolf 223 and mags.  They are out again.
  11.     I would probably have empty hulls all around my home.   That way if I heaven forbid had to use my firearm in self defense they would not be able to count shells and I could probably honestly answer I don't know how many times I shot. Instead of them finding the mag with 3 bullets and finding 7 hulls and doing the math.
  12. I had heard the rumor, kinda took it as such as when I tried to fact check it I keep getting articles dated like March last year.   However I had not heard that walmart made the statement about no recent changes.  I guess I missed that.   Either way, they don't have ammo currently.
  13. I got an email that they had 223 in stock and some steel 30 round mags.   I TRIED to go to their site.  They are crashed hard right now.  I guess everyone in the country got those emails.
  14. Sure it started high, but it has had 10 bids   Starting Price   US $39.95
  15. I do have some bic's in my pack, but this is just another light weight back up.     BTW, I am not just cutting the straw in 2 parts and using the extra room for some cotton and still sealing with hot glue.   I have no reason to believe candle wax wouldn't be just as good.
  16. I will check at my local liquor store for it, they carry some of the higher beers and may have it.
  17. But that has the bang factor you don't always want to use.
  18. Yea, I figured I was the the first to do this.   I have known about cotton balls and petroleum jelly but didn't even think of putting some cotton in the straw.  Future ones I make I will.   In short, These in the picture are all I have made.  So I will probably test with them and make new ones with cotton for my pack.
  19.     Well tell me, did they have a good supply of ammo at least?   I was in their the day before the CT shooting and they had so much ammo I couldn't believe it Since the Shooting, I am wondering how their ammo supply is.
  20. This is just a reminder.  For anyone that uploads pictures here or other places make sure you are not giving away your GPS location. This is not horrible for while say on vacation photes to the grand canyon but you don't want to give away your GPS location say for example taking picture of valuables at home such as your family or guns.   This site I found, http://www.findexif.com/ you can double check your pictures with out uploading them.   I have my camera on my phone set to auto upload to photo bucket and Normally have my GPS off.  However before sharing a picture, it is good to double check the link for meta data.   Remember most phones with GPS add the mega data to the pictures.
  21. same here.   Side note, When they make weed legal, I will be the first inline for a Willie Nelson concert.     See, he doesn't have to worry about running for office ever again.  He will say, and done what ever he wants.  We have to depend on our Senators and Congress to do the Right things.
  22. As I am building my 3 day pack I was thinking about multiple fire sources. Anyways, I had the idea to cut straws into 3 pieces and put 3 matches in each. I used hot glue to seal them in. 2 heads up, 1 head down to get the fit right. They are water right, however as you make them you need to make sure you don't have a bubble and that it seals completely. I figured these could be dropped in a couple pockets, they are small and add almost no weight. So far they seem good. I am going to sink a couple in a bowl of water and free it and then let it thaw back out and test them. The 2 long ones on the side, I am seeing if possible to get more matches and anyways, I believe the short with 3 is the best.
  23. I know this is Tinfoil hat area but doesn't anyone else find it strange that we are not even getting a glimp of sighting of new AR's, Lowers, and ammo hitting the market place?   I know when some magically hits a shelf it is going to be snapped up like there is no tomorrow but for them being in full production, one has to wonder where it is going.   The walmart on Clinton hwy website shows they have some .223 in stock, they have show instock since about Friday. However I was down there both on Friday and Saturday and s manager told me they didn't have any.   They scanned the sticker in their ammo case and it reported they have 29 boxes.  Either a inventory mistake or they would not put it on the shelf.
