  1. gave me some good laughs.
  2. I will go so far to say if they have a drill like that over a major population center they really need to publish ahead of time in the news to keep panic down.
  3. O yea, I expect nothing else from "The Mayor."   Should have ask how many bullets they had in their mags.  More then 7?
  4. Funny, I was in the boy scouts as a kid and never knew any of the politics of it.  Our Scout leader was a woman which at the time I didn't find strange.   Looking back on it after talking to other former boy scouts, my troop never went on camping trips, built fires, and allot of other stuff and I really think she was the troop master because no one else stepped up and she kind did it for her to boys.  I don't even remember how many badges I obtained but I know I had allot.     I enjoyed the meetings we had that I remember but I also know I didn't get the full experience.   Just kinda pointing out at least now looking bad I thought it was odd we had a woman troop master, not even sure if that is allowed in their rules or not.
  5. with in X number of years we will be fighting our old equipment.
  6. BTW, I am not really believing the missile launcher.  That is a repeat from another news stories weeks ago.   http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/12/there-were-actually-two-rocket-launchers-were-turned-las-gun-buyback-program/60390/ Plus why are they buying that at a gun buy back.  That is clearly not a good and can't be used.   Probably something from some novity shop like we can buy defused grenades and I have also seen some empty bombs.
  7. They went though 80,000 dollars of gift cards 100 and 200 dollars allotments in 2 hours?   So they got between 400 and 800 guns?  That is allot of sheep lining up to sell their freedom.
  8. I just got my radio and it sounds good for it's size.
  9.  Someone should stand out their offering estimates for the value of the gun before they trade them in for little gift cards.
  10. I believe this should be clear as mud.  I am going to refer to AR's and such as PDW or Personal Defense Weapons.  I was never big on calling them assault weapons anyways.     http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/01/26/if-assault-weapons-are-bad-why-does-the-dhs-want-to-buy-7000-of-them-for-personal-defense/ The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to acquire 7,000 5.56x45mm NATO “personal defense weapons” (PDW)
  11. This is is one of the main reasons we are in debt.  Those things are not cheap by a long shot
  12. For those that don't know, the threshold changed to 100,000.     https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/how-why/terms-participation To cross the second threshold and require a response, a petition must reach 100,000 signatures within 30 days.
  13. I am glad to see David is already looking into this.   Next month isn't that far away hehe.
  14. I have heard a rumor that Oak Ridge is getting an Aldi's.   I just heard that last week with a possible location.
  15. In short, if Military guys are sitting around the a table having a drink, one buy might show his coin and challenge another guy at the table.  If the challenged guy cannot produce his coin, he has to by the guy a drink.  However if he is able to present his coin the challenger has to buy him a drink.  ]   I did some research a day or to ago and found some interesting history as well.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin
  16. I work with allot of ex military guys and some of them have very neat challenge coins.  One guy is very proud of one some general presented him with.  I can't recall the general or what it was for either.   They don't pull challenges at work but I got to looking at some and I don't want to be that guy that buys a military challenge coin from Ebay to carry around.  I did order an NRA one from Ebay only because I could not find one currently available at the NRA.  I figured that would be good to carry.   But the whole thing kinda got me interesting in maybe collecting a few as I go.  My first thought was TGO
  17. yup, good way to start up a rotation.   I started my rotation with about 100 dollars give or take like that.     That is 3 cans a day/ 2 people for a month. if needed.   If times were really bad that could be rationed to late a bit longer.   Probably going to do another 100 or so to add more variety
  18. David, I have an idea for you, you will either love it or hate it.   Lately I have kinda got interested in Challenge Coins.   I thought it would be neat if TGO had a Challenge Coin.   I found a place that makes them and the price seems reasonable with 100 min order.   http://www.coinsforanything.com/
  19. I got my order in,  Almost missed out.
  20. hardwood floor with a crawl space.   I put the safe in a corner on an outside wall where there should be a couple floor joist close together.   I will inspect that a little better when it warms up.
  21. I am not helping them jack the price up,  If I can get one retail I will but I am not paying a couple hundred over
  22. OK, I am bolted down to the floor.  Felt like 2 of them I was able to get into a floor joist.  The other 2 where a complete miss.  I think I will let it warm up a like and make sure those two are drilled completely though the floor and run a locking cable to them under the floor and into the safe..
