  1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA1RsmxYtCmKeV1FkrgJNFg Some interesting videos here on how well rounds penetrate barriers. Maybe not all that scientific in his methods but some of his videos are interesting.
  2. I have similar issue with keens , some models a 12 fits and others it is an 11 that fits. Not an issue if I buy in a store but when ordering it is. I have a pair of Danner boots on the way. It has been 20 years since I purchased Danner.
  3. thanks , always heard good about Merrels but have yet to try them.
  4. Yankee transplant by any chance ???
  5. You pretty much just said you are wanting a 155gr 10mm , I would suggest the Dan Wesson RZ-10 to go with your round of choice.
  6. ?????? not so sure on that....take some blade training and compare it to what can be done with a pocket pistol like a .22 / .32 etc. If I get to pick the blade I would take one over several pistols I can think of.
  7. I still have primers to use from the other clinton that was in the White House.
  8. Currently wearing Keens at work , how does the Keen sizing compare to Merrells ? Keens run a little small to me.
  9. I have been surprised by the number of people who think that is a real gel shot.
  10. The pendulum has been swinging back to the 9mm with alphabet groups such as the FBI. They will probably stay with it until they have to shoot someone 136 times ....AGAIN !!!
  11. 2 pages and nobody has started quoting physics to prove 9mm is the best ????? Is everyone here new to Al's internet?
  12. ......are we really going to use HK as an example of what to buy because of another companies customer service???? That is so special.
  13. Never met the man or been to any of his classes but he has a good youtube channel if your into them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNqR_xHiG5ibzgm4xXmF-Sw
  14. outside diameter 1.0 inch , inside diameter .88 inch and a thickness .115/.120 will stop the cap just a little before it activates and gives minimum slack for the temp on button
  15. Tried packing a 6P years ago and it would always find a way to turn itself on. Pocket carry and on the belt in a kydex comp-TAC gave me the same results. After the Fight at Night class I wanted to try a little more lumens so I cut a couple of rings for my lights and so far problem solved. That is Mr. Pickle modeling the light. Now the lights are only temp on with the button and no twist to stay on.
  16. Would you believe my account has been closed on warriortalk and the fake posts are gone ??? Screenshot suarez fake post.htm
  17. Check this out.... http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?134222-The-Stakeout-14-quot-non-nfa-870&p=1858950#post1858950 Hellbilly is a username I used there years ago. I looked through the old posts for the username and they are mine. I did not post this one on the stakeout........is biz so bad they have to fake posts????
  18. Might be a good thing I have family coming this weekend , my auto insurance plan might not cover that. Friend was a volunteer deputy some years ago , he did it because he thought he could get a deal on ammo as one of the scares was underway and it was hard to get. We were doing a weekly training day at the time and we had a vehicle day. After the training was over for the day I went home and made him a motivational poster using a picture of his F150.
  19. The Riposte target in the link considers the 2 x 4 inch box over the nose and eyes to be a stop and the 2 inch wide area down the center ( spine ) to be a stop as long as the hit is high enough to shut off the arms. Aim small , miss small.
  20. What accuracy standards do you train for ? Many targets are pretty generous on the kill zone. Different "gun skools" use different targets for different reasons. This is one of the tighter accuracy targets I have used. https://shop.actiontarget.com/content/riposte-3-kentucky-national-guard-close-quarter-cardboard-target.asp What do you use ?????
  21. Attended this course Saturday and tactics have changed since my last night training in the mid 90s with the new technology now available in a small light. Side tracked by a dirt bike addiction problem for 10-15 years or so. I still have my Surefire 6P from the 90s and the 2 AAA battery Streamlight I used in the class is brighter with longer lasting batteries than the old 6P and carries as easily as an ink pen in a shirt pocket. The course started with some lecture , then some hands on drills to show how important it is to be aware and not let a goblin get a jump on things in their favor. Seconds matter and Randy showed us how to gain a few in our favor. Pistol skills are perishable !!!! My last course was late 2012 and I probably had not fired 100 rounds since that class. When we were running malfunction drills I had to really concentrate on things that were on auto pilot 5 years ago. Ran the malfunction drills with my 2nd gun , a compact and was once again reminded I do not like small pistols. When the live fire started I pulled the first shot low. Practice people and practice again !! In my defense I was shooting a man's caliber and not the .380 long rifle that is so popular these days. Drills covered different distances and different amounts of light. With lights , without lights and a fiber optic front is no better than a plain front sight when the lights go out. I have tritium on some of my handguns and some I do not. Brought a pistol with fiber optic front and plain black rear to this class. We shot paper as well as 3D targets wearing shirts , worked from cover/concealment and up close within an arms length. Do not want to give away to much detail , sign up for the next class if you want to get the details. The course is worth the time. I work night shift and am out an about a lot more after dark than before. We put a few rounds through an RMR Glock and fired some defensive rounds at the end of class to compare flash. I had 2 boxes of Double Tap sitting at home that I forgot to pack and would have liked to get comparison on , maybe next time. On another note....I left work early Friday to drive down from Kentucky and then did not make it back home until about 4:30AM Sunday morning. My dog was happier to see me than my wife so guess who I took out for a vanilla frosty Sunday afternoon and who I left at home ????
  22. It has to do with the recoil spring tunnel at the front end of the slide. The slide will not go into the pusher far enough for the actual pusher screw to line up with the dovetail. The Glock method of mounting the sight is the easiest to deal with. More companies should use it.
  23. I do not doubt it is a nice pistol but for that money not a chance I will have one. There are many good pistols in the $5-600 that will do the same thing. Now if they do a 5 inch one in .40 cal I would think about it before buying something else.
  24. That is an off work weekend.....will have to check into this a little more.
