Your freon is not low. If your ac only blows cold while your moving then you probably have an air flow problem or bad ac clutch. Clean out around your radiator and condenser cores,your evaporator box and check fans. If it was the actual stepping on the gas that makes it cool (higher engine RPMs) then your clutch is giving out. Really, A LOT of ac problems are really, really, really simple. Freon is not always needed and should be one of the last options GM doesn't use expansion valves. They use orifice tubes. If the orifice tube is clogged then you'll have a problem elsewhere like a compressor going out or improper oil.

The only reliable way to test an alt or batt is to take them out of the car. The roll out tester that parts stores use can only tell you if your battery is charged and your alternator is working. It can not tell you whether or not your battery is holding a charge or if your voltage regulator is working properly. seeing how your battery goes dead only after it sits for a couple days and you're looking at $$, I would get a cheap trickle charger instead of the jump starter.
