Just goes back to "so what" It's either have an increase in taxes and punish the good, or tax the guilty and punish the outright careless and dangerous.

Would anyone commit a crime if they knew a cop was watching them? To me a speed trap is something in which you can not avoid or something in which you have been forced into doing unintentionally or unknowingly. Getting caught when you thought you wouldn't be is not a trap.
-
What points to it being a speed trap? I certainly don't agree with those at all but I don't recall reading anything in this story that indicates that's what this is. From what I gather, it's a 'speed enforcement' van that's positioned randomly about. I suppose it could be argued by some that the mere presence of such a high-tech, high dollar van could be called a 'speed trap'. To me, it's just another tool to help slow people down. Now if it was positioned down in Benton, or any other infamous area known for ticketing drivers for not slowing quick enough after passing a 55 to 45mph zone...

I love these type threads. Some like to post about their tactical urban badassness and criticize the actions of someone because they did not do it right. Others like to post like they have never told someone to kiss their ass. Others like to post like they have never been a bit too loud while out with some friends. I'm sure that everyone here has done the last two. We all know that telling someone to kiss their ass isn't the best thing to do in today's world.....but again, we have all done it. As far as what they did after the Derringer was pulled.... well, I would have shot the bastard the split second I saw it leave his pocket.....but that's only because I'm much, much better with my gun handling then everyone else here That said, I'm kinda in the boat of disbelief on the story too.

I could care lees if it's about money or not. I can't even understand why people have a problem with that anyway. Fact is, money has to come from somewhere. It's either gonna come from higher taxes.....or people breaking the law. My choice is the latter. I say to all the speeders and red light runners.....thank you!

This....and what Kimberchick said. "securing" our border usually means to put up (or finishing) a fence. A fence along our border will keep illegals out about like a fence around a garden will keep critters from eating your tomatoes. The fence-less desert is only one way that they're getting in. One tiny way. There's also air, underground, and by water. Not to mention that what little part is actually fenced now, doesn't work. They still go through it, under it, and over it. The only way to stop it is by either Mexico becoming as good or better the the US. Or, by the US becoming as bad or worse then Mexico. Sadly we're not that far away from the latter, eh?

Voltage regulator is going out. Replace the alternator if you don't know how to replace just the regulator. Guaranteed. Funky, jerky gauges is the first sign one is going out. All of the other electronics acting weird is the next sign.

This thread may be a bit harsh but try to understand that what you are doing has been done previously.... without very flattering results. No one here will be willing to go 'on record' for a former CA journalist after the CA's constant badgering and negative bias towards gun rights and gun owners in TN. If you would have shown that you are not biased, or even natural to the subject, early on then you would have had much better results. So far, all you have shown is that your worked for one of the most anti-gun news agencies in the state. I would suggest visiting The High Road....they seem to be happy to help people 'willy-nilly' there. GL!

Google "Man Show Womens Suffrage petition" I did too

Nope. Not that it would matter anyway. I kinda like it when guys make comments like that about the GF. It lets me know that I'm doing something right If I don't hear any comments like that, I know I'm doing something ugly

I dunno. Here's their site The Niña & Pinta - The Columbus Foundation It's accepted by some that Columbus was a pirate. I could care less if he was or not....but for the sake of the pic's theme, he was That's just rude. You wouldn't tell someone you do not know that they're ugly to their face, so why do it here?
-
This is the Pinta. She is a pirate ship docked downtown.... This is her from the side. If you look just off of her bow, you will see her companion, The Niña.... This is a lovely pirate. She's out in search of whatever pirates search for. But wait! I think she hears something... Oh, look! A ninja pirate! She's out to take the lovely pirate's ship and claim all her booty!... Looks like the ninja pirate has the upper hand... Will the lovely pirate ever defeat the evil pirate?.... .

Never heard of Winicator. Have plenty of experience with Taurus revolvers though. They're durn good guns....inspite of what DaveTN says(he only recommends S&W). As for what would be good for your mother; I gave mine an NEF 12G to use at home. She loved it and felt very comfortable holding it and pulling the hammer back and pulling the trigger. She was pretty weak and fragile as well. She was able to hold it with both hands very easily and the operation was very safe )she was not a gun person). I was 100% confident in her with that gun. The heavy recoil was of no concern to me as she would only be shooting it at a boogie man. I also let her play around some with my Taurus 851. Our intention here was to let her pocket carry it when away from the house. She liked it as aswell and was comfortable holding it. Pulling the trigger required use of both hands and a bit of strain but it could be done. I always told myself(and her) if she ever HAD to use it she probably wouldn't even notice the trigger....but I was still fearful in the back of my mind that she wouldn't have been able to, yaknow. My advise is to give her something that she is comfortable holding and operating and do not worry about the recoil. You mother having a bruised butt from falling after shooting a shotgun is better then her not being able to pull a trigger. If she is comfortable and is able to use a revolver, then great! If not, a simple shottie may just be your answer. Just 2cents from someone who was there just a few short months ago.

Masaad also says you'll be shot by simply pulling up your pants. If that were true then we wouldn't have as many fat and old guys running around
