Where to stay: Chattanooga Choo Choo. Beautiful hotel. They have the most elegant bar you'll ever see. They have an "up scale" eats on site that is mediocre, at best. But, you are within walking distance (or horse and buggy ride) from a few very nice restaurants. What to do: I love the Riverpark\riverwalk. 10 mile stretch of sidewalk that is absolutely beautiful. Once you get away from the downtown part, you'll get away from all of the tourists. Coolidge park and the North River area is great. Lots of outdoorsy activities and lots of yuppie shops are in this area. Great place to go people watch if nothing else. I can sit down there all day just watching the paddle boards. The park get's a bit harry at night but I doubt you'll be up that late. Where to eat: I like anything around "Jack's Alley". Taco Mac is a favorite. Great food. HUGE beer list. And if you don't like beer, they have 125 different verities of water. Seriously! Vaudeville Cafe is a hoot. Vaudeville Cafe Stand-Up Comedy and Murder Mystery Dinner Shows in Chattanooga, TN Someone mentioned Cheeseburger Cheeseburger. Stay away! Way over priced crappy burger. This place is only in business because of tourists and it's proximity to the aquarium. Gun shops: GT Distributors, bar-none. They're as cheep as any web based store and has just as much cool stuff, too. (note, if ya have something you want, ask them. They keep most stuff in the back and not in the show room) Pay no 'tention to the area comment. It's not that bad. Especially at GT's where you'll only find about 234297634 cops in the parking lot. Hamilton place is not a bad area. Neither is St. Elmo where the Incline is located. Maybe a few years ago, but certainly not today.

Do you feel that business should have the right to Opt-Out?
strickj replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Saying "they should not have the right to ban weapons on their property" is the same as saying "they should not have the right to carry weapons". They are both removing a right to gain peace of mind. As someone with a disability, let me say that comparing a gun to what someone is, is highly offensive. A gun is an object. An object that can be taken off. A disability, a race, a sex, etc. is not. They can not be taken off. why don't you compare a no parking sign with who I am next -
Tens units and muscle relaxers will do nothing for spine problems. Those will only help tension and pain in the muscles. As been suggested, stretching your spine and a Tempurpedic mattress will do wonders for you. An inversion table is not necessarily needed. You can simply hang from a pull-up bar with some light weights on your ankles. That's what I do. Works great! Epidurals are absolutely amazing but only lasts for a couple of months or so. They are very painful for me (I have super sensitive nerves below mid torso), but YMMV. You can see the HUGE needle in this pic running middle to middle left. Those are my deck screws mid right.

This is why I carry..especailly at night
strickj replied to lock n' load's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
the reports I read indicated the older man was the primary aggressor. He was angry at a cashier for overcharging him. He rushed to the produce section to retrieve a sign and in the process, bumped/shoved/brushed/whatever a woman standing in his way. That's when her husband shoved him. That story is not really a good one to evidence your concerns, regardless of who the aggressor was. A robbery is a bit different then a mutual scuffle. I do agree with you about $20 not being worth killing someone over, though. And that's why I choose to carry a gun. I'm not going to let some crack head kill me over $20. YMMV -

The point being, it once was debated the same we are debating abortion today. The same arguments were even used, for the most part. Had the anti-bc group won, it would have been made illegal. I'm using the given that the couple on TLC have not had any other partners and that they do not believe in birth control. If they can average one child a year, imagine how many kids someone could have that has had multiple partners. I once read that the average non-married person has a new partner every six months. You knock up two girls a year for twenty years, that's forty kids. if a person has a new partner once a month, which is not that uncommon today... well, you do the math.

“We like to imagine good and bad, right and wrong are miles apart. The truth is, very often they are all tangled up with each other.†And that's where we are today with abortion. Some feel it's wrong. That it's nothing more then murder. Some don't feel that way at all. So, who is right? Who's opinion and religious leanings do we side with? Why do some choose to force their opinions and religion onto others? And the last question is the answer to the first two questions. It wasn't that long ago, as a society, when we were having the same debate with the "week after pill" and the "morning after pill". Before that, the debate was about contraceptives and birth control in general. Some felt the wasting of sperm was wrong. That it was as good as murder. Even today, some feel this way. See the TLC show with the 40 kids for modern day application of this train of thought. Where would we be today if birth control was illegal. We would be an over-populated world full of unwanted bastards. If that ultra-conservative family can average one child per year, for twenty years, then some of us would have hundreds of kids ruining around. With all of that out of the way. I do not agree with abortion and would never have one, especially a late term abortion. But, my opinions are not shared by all and I would never force MY opinions and feelings about it onto others. I just wish others would share my butt the **** out attitude about things...

alcohol...carry, but not on person
strickj replied to 93civEJ1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
To whom cares, I am not advocating drunk driving nor drunk carrying. The person I have been replying to in this thread has made posts in a couple of other threads or so about his hate for all things alcohol, whilst maintaining a "I'm better then ye" attitude on the matter. These posts (his and my replies) are not about drinking and carrying, they are about drinking in general. -

Well, if I'm young and dumb, then you're old and senile. Tit for tat, et al. The whole problem with your whole assessment there, is the fact that there are millions of people out there having a drink with their dinner (or maybe breakfast) right now. These people range in ages from young to old. These people are not going to shoot and kill anyone. These people are not going to go insane. These people are not going to go to jail. These people are not going to kill themselves or others by having a few drinks. These people are responsible drinkers. You know, just like responsible gun owners. In fact, moderate alcohol has been proven to increase your lifespan and overall health. But, I guess the ones whom say that are just young and dumb scientists and medical doctors. What do they know... Cut out the preaching and the "I'm better then ye" attitude. I know I'm not the only one getting tired of it. You have been given all the warnings you'll get (in this thread and others). -

strickj replied to 93civEJ1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You are my problem. Ya see, you do not like people that drink. I do not like people who do not like me. That's nothing personal, it's just a tit for tat thing. If you drop the dislike for me, then I will drop my dislike for you. I'll even buy you a beer Now, you can continue to sit up on your little high horse and snub your nose at me if it makes you feel like a better man. But, in reality, you are not better then me. You are not better then anyone else here that chooses to drink responsibly. We are all adults here. We are all perfectly capable of making adult decisions on adult beverages. We do not need any help or guidance from you. We do not need our hand held. We do not need a nanny. We do not need a sippy cup to drink our booze from. What we do need is for you to take your preaching back to your AA meetings... -

You can carry loaded guns in your car in GA without a carry license. With that, It's no big deal even with three month wait.

Lol No handcuffs I used a d300 and d40 with an 18-70 and an 18-200 with simple rembrandt lighting

My advise is to add 50 to that budget and get a used one that already fits your needs. I'm unable to really answer the question about barrel size for gaming but I had no problems with my 18.5 in 3-gun without a choke.

really? I'll happily take the head coach job. I'll teach them about sacks, formations, the backfield, drills, unnecessary roughness... You can have your dirty towels
