More Wasteful Spending - The Breastfeeding Edition

sorry for not providing a link. I found a few but none mentioned the amount... The obesity thing is unrelated -
The only people that think GUN! when they see a fanny pack, fishing vest or a guy pulling his frickin pants up are folks on gun boards. The same guys that say a clip should only be called a mag. Yeah, we get it. You want people on the internet to think you're abadass operator that knows everything

I just made you 10 years younger. Some doctors make good money for doing that. Edit: @ ohshoot's post count

I would normally agree with you as I've been called young and dumb by the old and senile more times then I care to count. But in the case SD fighting, age and wisdom often has an advantage. Not to mention Mike's post did come across like one of a kid telling another kid his toy is stupid. No one likes the guy fresh out of collage with all of these ideas of how things should work because his newly found knowledge and 4 years "living on his own" is not real life experience. Same deal here. I'll take the word of an old guy that's survived a lifetime carrying a revolver over the word of a young guy with three or four years experience and a training class(es) taught by the tacticool guy of the month. Sure the old guy may not always be right, but his "this is how I made it through it" story is worth listening to...

There's advantages and disadvantages to every gun. Auto loaders are big, are prone to failures under stress and require more training for efficiency and ****-up control. Tap-rack-bang-bus. On the up side, they hold way more and are much quicker to reload-especially under stress. Revolvers are much less prone to fail and require less training for efficiency and ****-up control, and give more powder for the bang. On the down side, they hold less and can become clumsy to reload under stress. But neither one sucks. If you feel the need to carry more rounds, then carry an auto loader. If you feel the need for more reliability whilst skimping on rounds carried, then carry a revolver. For me, I carry both at times. I figure my chances of having to ever fire more then a couple rounds are about as slim as me hooking up with Megan Fox. Ergo, I could care less how many rounds I carry the majority of the time. To answer the OP; I do sometimes. If I'm downtown Chattanooga late night, where gangs often run loose flash mobs have occurred, I will carry no less then a 1911 and an extra mag or 20.

Has anyone ever found a Black Widow spider in their mailbox?
strickj replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
I was fine reading this thread, even with the spider in the beard comment-I'm sporting a beard atm- but that pic is just too much! Pics should only be posted as links so those of us that are arachnophobes do not have to suffer : shutters: cajun, I'm sending you a bill for my ruined underroos -

Married guy 'Kitchen Pass' Strategy and Tactics?
strickj replied to QuietDan's topic in General Chat
Never understood the asking permission thing most guys do. I'm not a child. I don't need permission to spend my money That said, tell her to make you a samich (which she should be doing automatically soon as you walk in anyway) and when her back is turned.... IF you need more time, tell her to get you a beer... -
By all means. TGO doesn't shield against bonafide complaints (even if it's a TGO vendor)

Yeah, because throwing love out the window after a simple "in the moment" act or accident is totally forgiving them

I have stated on this forum before that I have very little family. I have a niece (I tolerate her parents) and my father whom I've only recently started associating with. The rest are either dead or I have not seen or spoken to in years. So I know exactly what you're saying here. But the thing is, a child is not like family. A child is your offspring. A child is automatically the most important thing in the world. We can all understand kicking a child out of your home over tough love or because of other uncorrectable circumstances. That happens everyday. But to say that your child is dead to you is a whole 'nother ballgame. That is sad. It's week-minded. It's pathetic. And to do that over sex, something everyone does, or because of what belief one has, is even worse. As Rev says below, the good book (any of them) teaches love and forgiveness. But apparently some choose to forget about that teaching when it comes to the teaching that sex is for married people only You think that only those that live by the bible are capable of love? Love is something you feel for someone else. I don't know about you, but I do not need someone or something to teach me how to feel.
-
Whatever. I listed one very non-specific term that is in no way degrading you or your christian believes. I think you are just angry with me for saying it's sad and pathetic that someone would throw the love of a child out the window and you're just using the one excerpt from my quote as fuel.

Point to one post where I have ever antagonized anyone. Again, I NEVER mentioned Christians or any other faith. I was simply pointing out that some religions say sex is wrong. If you're butt hurt over that, then get over it. What? You are seeing something that is not there. I am not mocking anyone. I have not said that your god sucks, your religion sucks or anything else of the such. The purpose of the post you quoted, and the only reason, was to express my dismay of people saying their child "would be dead to them". The particular sentence you're taking out of context was to express my dismay with people choosing to hold onto their good book instead of loving their child. If you're offended for me saying it's stupid to throw a child out with the bath water because she pee'd in it, then I don't know what to tell you.

I have never knocked you or Christianity in this thread. I have simply pointed out that some religions (any of them) says sex is wrong. You are seeing something that is not there and that is your problem. I am not apologizing for it. As far as my ignorance goes, how do you know what I have studied, read or once believed? Do you call everyone ignorant, petty and intolerant that does not hold to your believes?
-
Oh brother. I never made a jab at you or your religion. Some religions say eating certain foods is wrong. Some religions say that listening to music is wrong. Some religions say having sex is wrong. You take religion out of it and she did nothing wrong. That's all I'm pointing out here. I never said that sleeping around or cheating is right. This girl was not sleeping around. This near legal adult was having sex with her bf. No one knows what the 3rd guy was doing. Maybe he was watching tv in the other room the story said she and her bf were nude and the other guy was clothed... The same story that alleges the father hit her 100 times also alleges it was a threesome. I never said I have a problem with marriage or god. I simply said marriage is a thing of man. Sure, you can get married outside of church. You can even be married by common law....but the gov is not telling us premarital sex is wrong, which is what this thread is about. Only some religions tell us that.
-
Naa... not a spoiled word for me at all. I have no problems with it. You just made my point for me. You do not have to have marriage to only have one mate for life. Lots of people do that very thing. Does it make someone evil and worthless if they have only had one mate their whole lives but failed to repeat a few words in a church?
-
Would you disown your child for stealing? Would you tell them that they're dead to you for pocketing a Hershey bar? As for the rest of your post, I do happen to believe sex is natural. Marriage on the other hand is not natural. Marriage is the invention of man to appease god. That's why they're called religious ceremonies. You can call me sick for believing that all you want. I don't really care what your opinion on me is based on a simple act that we ALL partake in. Fact is, I simply do not believe in your religion. I simply do not believe my god (and I do believe in god, btw) cares that I do what is only natural.

The state of TN is spending 7.5 million dollars in order to promote breastfeeding in public restaurants. That's right. Due to budget restraints, cops and first responders in the state are being cut. Teachers and schools are so underfunded it's crazy. Many schools are so deplorable that they've become safety hazards. But as long as Buffalo Wild Wings and Chilis know they can allow moms to breastfeed in their restaurants....
-
No, it's never been banned from the forum, far as I know. I never said anything about your religion or anyone else's. I said "your opinion". I'll keep what the obvious penguin says about the connection between sex and religion to myself. But I will continue to express my displeasure of the hypocrisy found here over the subject of sex. The "I had sex but by god, you're evil and worthless if you have sex too".
-
I'm really surprised at some of the "if that was my daughter, she'd be dead to me/living on the streets" comments. Why would y'all rid yourselves of family over a kid being a kid? I get the whole sex is evil thing. But isn't family more important then that? Isn't family more important then your opinion on what an old book says? Isn't family more important then some little mistake? Isn't the love for your kid the most important thing in the world? And to toss all of that out the window over a kid's experimentation is sad. It's really sad.
