Selective? You seem to be ignoring Romney's stance on guns altogether! From the Fox News link CCI provided earlier: Romney only changed his so called pro-gun stance for his POTUS run. Why do you think he is pro-gun? The proof is in the pudding.
-
Not ignoring it at all. I know how Obama feels about guns and what his history is. I'm simply pointing out that Romney is just as bad, if not worst. Also explaining why I'm less fearful of Obama making a gun grab then I am of a republican making a gun grab.
-
Facts? The fact that some hate O so much that they're willing to replace him with someone just like him? I'm confident that O and the libs will not push for gun control. If they do, I'm confident the republicans will not let it happen. I'm confident Romney will repeat what he has already done. I'm confident when he does, he will have the support of the liberals, the RHINOS and some republicans (that whole "let's stick together" thing both parties do). If you really feel that Romney is anything but anti-gun, then simply research his history. I provided a somewhat unbiased link above but feel free to look for yourself. What he is saying now is simple pandering.

http://www.issues2000.org/2012/Mitt_Romney_Gun_Control.htm From that link: Even if that was the only thing, wouldn't THAT be enough? We're talking about an AWB, for goodness sake! Massachusetts gun right supporters? Like how they supported high cap mags? Oxymoron? Yeah, well... so does Romney. I'm sorry if anyone can believe what is ONLY being said currently. Funny. Who signed an AWB? Like I said earlier, I'm confident that O and the libs know better then to push for major gun control.
-
6.8, Let me say I do not want 4 more years of O. But I'm confident that O and the libs will not push for gun control. Least not anything passable. I am not confident that Romney wouldn't, though. He has already signed an AWB and I feel he will do it again if made POTUS. He would have the backing of the democrats, the RHINOs and some of the other republicans (let's face it, the parties like to stick together regardless of the issue).
-
Someone posted in another thread two or three anti-gun things that has occurred under O. But we seem to forget that two or three pro-gun things have also happened under his reign, too. Like you, I refuse to vote for a man that has signed an AWB into law. O and the liberals know better then to touch on gun issues. They will loose all hope of control for a long damn time if they do. the question is, does this republican know better?
-
Honestly, Robert, I could care less about the "what ifs" concerning possible supreme court appointees. Just judging the two on gun history, Romney has more anti-gun stuffs on his record then O does. So what makes you think that Romney would appoint a pro-gun judge(s)? O is a socialist? Jay Leno said it best: "You remember Romney? He invented Obama Care before he was against it". Romney Care = Obama Care. Key author is the same guy, even. Social issues: It should be no secret here that I'm to the left on social issues. And Romney has more policies that I can agree with then disagree with. That alone should tell you just how "conservative" he is. Course, he also has a couple or so religious inspired policies... I suppose is why he's able to call himself an R. Problem is, he has flip flopped on these issues so who knows what he will actually do when the time comes? When it comes down to it, O and Romney are both Cali Libs, with the exception of a few social issues. So, explain to me again why I should vote for the guy that has signed an AWB?
-
I'll either vote for the guy that didn't sign an AWB into law or simply leave the POTUS blank. With the exception of a couple of social issues, there is no difference between Romney and Obama.

6.8, reread my post. I am not supporting the mayor. The mayor is in the wrong for forcing his opinion on Chick-fil-a by denying them a permit or license (or whatever it was?). All of this might be a moot point now? http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/breaking/chi-chickfila-spokesman-dies-20120727,0,6630683.story By making those beliefs law.

I'm not going off of a myth and I could care less what any politician says during an election. I'm going off of his record and his past speeches. He signed the AWB in Massachusetts, for Christ's sake. That alone should prove that he's either anti-gun or a pandering, flip flopping pussy that will say and do anything to get elected. If he was really so "gun loving", then he would have vetoed it. http://www.issues200...Gun_Control.htm The phrase "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me " comes to mind here. He's pandering to Brady and NRA as we speak.

Happens a lot in Chattanooga. Most recently with Benson and IHop. A politician's opinion about a business or it's owner should not be a prerequisite to that business opening. The city is there to get new businesses to come to town with tax incentives and other perks, and to make sure they're legal and safe by issuing permits. The city is not there to deny new business because of a personal opinion of the person currently holding office.

Romney Panders To NRA, Anti-Gunners. Simultaneously.
strickj replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree with this. Being a Mormon isn't a concern for me in and of itself. But it's no secret that Romney likes to bring his religious views to legislation. "Party of pussy" being the main one in the news of late. Obama and Romney are both Cali Libs with the exception of that in my book. -
I'm an Injun' (granny was half Indian) Norwegian, Scott hybrid apparently. I have bald spots, super duper blond (I'm talking colorless almost!) and red facial hair. Currently sporting a 4 inch'ish goatee and 1/2 inch'ish cheeks. I buzz it about once a week. I'm too lazy for maintenance.

I'm less afraid of O restricting guns then I am of Romney. O and the Ls know better then to touch guns again or they'll loose any glimmer of hope for control for a long damn time to come. Rs are not as likely to turn on one of their own... and as posted above, Romney is every bit as anti gun (if not more) as O.

A movie and a rub down? That's a bargain! Most want to charge extra for that. Where do I sign up?

I wore safety glasses until I had a hot casing get stuck between the outer corner of my eye and my glasses. I think I'll risk a little dust in my eyes over another scar... -
You do realize that, that cash probably came from welfare or EBT's cash back, right? Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy!

I've answered my door with gun in hand before. But I would never point my gun at someone while answering the door. If it's a cop, you're gonna get shot or end up in jail. If you accidentally pull the trigger, you're gonna end up in jail.

Real estate is not the best around the Chickamauga Battlefield. Guess that's a plus as you're sure to get a good price. But there is one small CW souvenir/memorabilia type place already. With the exception of one pawn shop, there are no gun stores in that immediate area and they do not have any CW weapons. The Rossville side of the Ridge (John Ross Rd and Lafayette Rd area) might be a good place for a shop like that. I worked at a gas station in this area for a while back before everyone had GPS, so I can attest there's lots of tourist traffic traveling from downtown Chattanooga to the Chickamauga Battlefield and the CW stuff on the Ridge. This area would be my first choice for something like that. The north end of the Ridge is not a great area... if you catch my drift.

Charlie Sheen to donate minimum of $1M to USO, troop morale

Never said that, now did I? -
Charlie Sheen to donate minimum of $1M to USO, troop morale

I like Charlie Sheen for his honesty and humor. And you certainly can't blame a guy for buying porn stars But I find donating a mere 1 percent of one show to be insulting. I think most of us here have donated more time and a larger percentage to helping others. Just saying... -

Only 1 million? He's worth 100 million and receives 1.8 million per episode. Still better then the celebs that beg for dollars for their own charities I guess... -
Half way through season 3 now. Werewolves have made their appearance along with Deborah Ann Woll. Show just keeps getting better
