Well yes but I dont really see a burglar taking the time to rummage through your house to find a hammer and screw driver,then taking the time to remove painted on hinge pins.I guess it could happen though,but it still beats nothing. Your only looking at around 15 20 bucks or so,or if your really cheap Wallyworld has them for like 7 or 8 bucks Edit: just be sure if you did to chisel out enough room for the bolt to fully extend in the door jam

If you need a cheap but yet secure place to store your weapons put a dead bolt on a closet door.Unlike a lockable door knob it can not be pried open with a screw driver

Theres a thread around here somewhere on shooting techniques that suggest shooting at old T-shirts to help with it.Its sounds silly to people but I think its a great way to prepare yourself if TSHTF.Its just like silhouette targets just taking it one step closer to a real person on person situation
