I love this thread! You can take our guns but you'll never take our machine shops and protractors! Derka?

I'm right there with you Mike. I hate a thief just as much as anyone but there's always room to show people a little love and compassion... especially when the theft or con was done out of desperation and with "good" intentions. It's not like the Grandmother did this to support a crack habit or to buy a new life of lux. I commend KFC for honoring their $30,000 pledge to help the little girl. That said, I do hope the Grandmother (and anyone else involved) is charged for the crime.

Both of those examples are perfectly reasonable. Blondes and Dodges have no room in my life :D

Has anyone really done it this way and is it worth it.

You can microwave pizza cheese side down to keep from getting a soggy crust. But you're both wrong though. Leftover pizza is best served cut up and in scrambled eggs! :) -

Me too. I nuke everything to 80% then pop it in a hot oven to crisp it. Only takes a couple extra minutes and it makes a huge difference -
He's now part of the TGO 3% :)

Gross! At one time there was a Japanese restaurant in Knoxville that was named Fuku (or something very close to this).

Finding something you really want on Ebay and its not buy it now
strickj replied to Rightwinger's topic in General Chat
Anytime I find something I want on eBay, I just hop over to Amazon and buy the damn thing. :D Seriously, they have the best/same price guarantee and the price is usually inline with eBay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Everything is better on a stick

I had to google that to see what you were talking about. I can honestly say that the only time I've ever listened to Boy George song is when he was on the A-Team.

I agree that more/better training is needed. There should have been two dead thugs instead of just one. Better training could remedy that.

It's a little hard to get used to doing but it's always best to leave your doors unlocked, unless you have a car alarm AND are within earshot of it. Thieves will get into you car whether the doors are locked or not. At least leaving them unlocked will save the cost and clean-up time of broken windows. Here's to hoping they will pawn that GPS and get caught!!

Well, he has the 18x55 that he can use indoors. I assume he want's to take pics of the kids playing in the yard or a ball games, which is why I suggested the x200. If he's planning on just taking the "be still a minute" portraits then I agree, the 50mm is hard to beat.
-
Ugh... The 50mm is fantastic if you can stay within 6 feet of your kids at all times. If you do not plan to keep the kids on a leash to take their pics, then I would suggest the 55x200 for a few bucks more. It will give you the reach that you need to capture your kids outdoors. For indoors, I would compensate for poor lighting with a Yongnuo speedlight mounted on the camera. And forget the modifiers... just keep it pointed up at the ceiling. :)

As long as I have a margarita!

I think I have a way out of this. We, uh, call the police, and we have 'em send over one of their sketch artists. And Miss Balbricker can give a description. We can put up "Wanted" posters all over

Should be easy to pick out in a line-up if he ordered the Doritos taco. Think about it! :D

They carry primers too.

That's not a lawnmower. That's a go cart with a deck. It should only count if it can uniformly cut grass.... and has a beer holder.

I've been MIA for the past several months. Life -- it's thick sometimes. Though I haven't really been active in that time, I have tried to lurk and poke my head in every so often. I do miss the playfulness, sense of community and banter that we all had here in the early days. I met a lot of friendly and great people through the forum. Strangely enough, a lot of the people I've met were nothing more than random strangers at the range, LGS or gun show that spotted me and said "hey, aren't you that guy from TGO?". I guess it happens when you're the only tactical gimp in a community of only a few hundred. I'm glad that someone has missed me. Screw the rest of y'all! :D
