Yes,that is true,but I have never received a citation for doing these things,and I live two minutes from one,and go under it multiple times a day;Being stuck while turning,having to stop because of traffic,etc. These lights only get the folks that run the lights.As its been noted,there is an over site on these before the citations are mailed,meaning if someone is caught in one of your scenarios,you will not get the citation. ETA; The one by the house also sits in a school zone,and I have been caught under it several times from the crossing guard,and I have never received a citation from that either Thanks

Well it would seem to me that by adding an extra half second wouldn't do much except let one more car through to run it. Its like the speed limit.If the speed limit is 40 mph with countless speeders,it doesn't help the problem to increase the speed limit to 45 mph simply because the people that were going 5 over before will continue to go 5 over.(thats been proven countless times) Do you have any proof to show an increase in rear end collisions? Like I stated above,if someone rear ends you,its their fault for their poor driving. Also,like I stated,what if they are driven by dollars,and dollars alone?Whats the problem with the people running lights,and causing wrecks having to pay? I would rather their fines help pay to clean up wrecks,then me ..... I dunno,maybe I dont get it ...or maybe I'm the only one who does

If you get rear ended,then its because of two reasons. First,the car behind you is driving to close,and it will be their fault.Second,you frequent fruit stands No,because that is a moving violation where a person is at the offense,not the vehicle.Now if she were to run a light,or park in the fire lane,then it would be your car in the offense

All right,but Ill still go back to parking tickets where no one is present.Why doesn't people complain about them?It the same thing you're complaining about.No cop present to prove a person did something,or what person did it. Its your car,you're always in control of your car,even if you're not driving it. If you dont want to get pics in the mail of it under a light,dont let someone drive it without your presence.

No,its just a fine,like parking in a fire lane. Yes,there are some that have had there timing changed which is an effed up way of getting more moneys.I remember the one here in Brainerd was challenged in court,and it was proven the yellow light only lasted something like 2 seconds whereas other surrounding lights lasted something like 3 seconds. But,there is really no way to prove that the timing was actually changed though afaik.They just needed adjusting from normal wear,and tear But like I said above,it is a way to generate money,but at the expense of those running lights.I personally dont see a problem with that. If it doesn't help keep people from running lights,at least they'll have to pay for their reckless driving. I had a guy run one near Hamilton Place Tuesday nearly T-bone me after running one. 1) Its not a crime,its a fine.No different then getting a parking ticket where the meter maid(or whatever the pc term is today,,,meter technician ) where you are not present.Meter maids are also not cops,much like the cameras,but at least the cameras have law enforcement over viewing the pictures.You are also not convinced of anything ether.If you feel you didn't run the light,let the judge look at the pictures. 2)Revenue is a bonus,but not the reason they are used.People running lights are dangerous,the cameras are there to help with the problem. Like I said,dont run the light,and you wont have your "rights" violated
