I like it. I miss old fashioned metal. I think that is why I like Halestorm so much.
-
I won't be able to shoot it for a little while, but it feels great. The build was solid, there is no play or rattle. The lower was easy to build and when it came time to mate the upper, they went together like they were made to. I am pleased.

I am thinking about getting one for a dedicated .22LR build. Dammit these ARs get expensive...

And done. PSA Lower and full upper. Assembled separately. Mil-spec MOE stock, MOE Grip, MOE Trigger Guard, MOE Hand Guard, rear MBUS. Chrome-lined 1/7 twist 16" M4 profile barrel. Tactical charging handle. A whole slew of Magpul PMags. And the downside? I am in the middle of a move, and I don't know when I will get to go shoot it.

I liked the episode to, for pretty much the same reasons.

"Sorry brother." I liked his character, thought tonight I agreed he was wrong. Carl is starting to worry me.

Good job guys!

D'oh!Ignore my #2 guess until tomorrow night then.

To be honest Greg I wasn't going to give this a shot until I saw your post and I was like, "Wait a second, I think #1 is a 10mm..." I agree with all your other choices though. *Edit* I renege on that, I disagree with #2 as well, it is a rimmed cartridge, and now I am stumped.

The point is, here in Knoxville, Walmart's prices are the best. Academy has the best prices of any sporting goods store, but Walmart is consistently $0.50 less per box of ammo. The Local owned and operated shops are consistently 25% higher on ammo and firearms than Walmart. I will pay a 5% fee to buy from locally owned and operated, but not 25%. I use the services that one local shop offers, training classes, gunsmith and shooting range, as well as transferring firearms, but I don't buy my ammo (unless renting) or guns from them. They are too high compared to Walmart or Academy. Gander Mountain and Bass Pro are even worse than Locally Owned and Operated stores for price increases, getting upward of 30% over Walmart's prices. We are a capitalist society. We are going to buy the best quality at the lowest price we can. Price, quality, service, in that order. If the quality and service are better but the price is exponentially higher, guess what, I am gonna go elsewhere to buy and deal with getting treated like dirt.

If you are going to go with out the box and no modifications, I would suggest the WASR. It will eat from the cheapest steel magazines you can find anywhere. The Saiga is the better rifle of the two, sight unseen, however it requires proprietary magazines that aren't as easy to find, or cheap as regular steel AK magazines. If you intended to convert the Saiga, then it would be a different story. For evaluation I have owned a Romanian kit gun (basically a WASR) and an Arsenal. For my next rifle on the AK platform, I am leaning heavily toward a Saiga build.

Great link. I was going to suggest lint from a dryer, but this is just as good and easier to carry.

I have been grabbing M855 5.56 at Academy for $8 per 20. I picked up a stack of PMags at the gun show this weekend for $12 a piece. All of this is a moot point though, as to sell on this site you have to be a benefactor.

That bothered me, if he had continued his Occupy thread, I was going to call him out on that. I have a feeling he supported it just for the idea of anarchy.

I don't know about the new software, but I am the admin on a fairly large automotive site, we use VB. It allows the user to log in, but they are stuck at the main page with a message stating they have been banned and giving a reason if you input one.It is also possible to ban an IP to prevent them from reregistering.
-
Probably cause he is logged on to the site, just cause he is logged on doesn't mean he isn't banned. He still can't see anything, probably gets a nifty message that tells him he sucks and he has been banned.

Oh, it still gets used. I take it out and shoot a few rounds through it every month or two. I just want it to be prettier. It has always held am important position in my household, and I intend to continue that tradition.

Finally got some detailed pictures up. Sorry for the delay. It looks worse than it really is, or at least I hope it does. It is still functional.

He will not be missed.

The lower is done. Kinda. One idiot mark. I taped the lower when I started installing the bolt catch, but It seems I tapped the punch through the tape and made an 1/16" idiot mark right there. I can accept that. I lost the pin detent on the front, I used the razor blade method, and it worked perfect. The second time. The first time I had a miniature projectile that I still haven't found. Because of that I just have my buffer tube and stock in place, but not fitted. I suppose I will head to the show tomorrow and find a detent. All in all I am impressed at how simple it was. I have watched a couple of videos beforehand, but I used Brownell's walk through to do it. I had to pause it a few times, but it was all pretty straightforward. The Magpul equipment was nice, has a good feel to it. I did have to torch off the Locktite they had on the screw that I had read about as well.

LPK arrived. I am excited.

Wow. I was thinking Britain or something. This is frightening. Very frightening. -
Just out of curiosity, if you dislike it so much here, why did you move here? Coming in and acting like an arrogant know it all who insults the locals is not bound to endear you. At all. Now, I don't have a problem with assholes, as I am one, but even the dumbest of coonhounds knows better than to #### where he eats. I guess a Yankee doesn't. Congratulations on making a decent flip. It is pretty easy to do if you have the capital to put up for it. However I am confused as to how you managed such a large tax refund, as others have mentioned, maybe you need to take a look at your deductions. If however you are like some out there (myself included) who has an additional amount withheld, I can see how one can get such a large check back. I am just confused how on a yearly basis there are so many of us (myself included) who barely break even at tax time, when there are so many that get a check for double from dear old Uncle Sam. I am a local, through technicality. Not born, and barely raised. I am a Navy Brat. I don't get on my with my father much at all, but there is one thing he said to me when I was a young man that sticks out to this day. An old Navy saying. Maybe it can help you. "One 'Aw ####, can ruin a lot of 'Attaboys!'" Keep that in mind. We here in Tennessee are a close knit bunch. While it might be fun to pick on the stereotypes, however, some of those backwoods toothless rednecks with a mouth full of tobacco could teach you a lot about manners, and probably surprise you about money and investments.
