St. Patrick's Day kicks off State-Wide DUI Checkpoints for the season,
Murgatroy replied to a topic in General Chat
I understand to a degree where you are coming from.I am sure there are better ways to catch drunk drivers. Sitting at the exit of the parkinglot to a bar would be one. But that would be entrapment. Expecting folks to make the right decision while still sober would be another. I am not sure what the answer is. Harsher sentencing? But then again, those that will break the laws, will break them. Consequences be damned. How many repeat offenders are there for DUI? How many of those habitual DUI offenders even have a license? Now, I am not screaming that habitual offenders need to be locked up for life. I am not screaming that alcohol is bad and should be illegal. I am not sure what the right answer is. But if a sobriety check point gets a drunk driver off of the road and saves a single life, then I don't think it was money wasted at all. But that would be a hard statistic to track wouldn't it? With the driver sitting in cuffs and not driving. With all the money being wasted hand over fist, I don't think a sobriety checkpoint is at the top of that list. -
Close, but not quite.

I think Daryl is going to kill Shane after the commercial break.

Having lost a beloved family member to a drunk driver, I don't think sobriety check points are a waste of money at all. -
I have to admit a slight bit of jealousy here...

Oh, you done it now... You will never think of another pistol the same.

The Expo Center is a lot better than Chilhowee. But of course, we have a local star going, and I am going to Louisville...

After watching so many LGS owners come on here and fiscal suicide, it is nice to see someone who cares what the community thinks. While it appears that this is about one customer, it is and it isn't. One customer is a small loss of profits, granted, no one wants to lose one customer. But if that one customer complains, that could be two lost customers, maybe even three. In a market such as this, selling a specialized item, if someone was mistreated and then goes on to tell others who spend large sums on this specialized hobby item, it could lead to ten or fifteen lost customers. That is bad business. Now here is the fun part, one customer treated bad will tell ten people. One customer treated well, might only tell five. Then you have this scenario, the customer told a hundred people, now those hundred people watch as the proprietor makes it right. Those hundred people, who might have dismissed the whole thing other than to be one hundred potential last customers, will now each remember this, becoming one hundred potential customers impressed with the business, who might in turn tell five people each. That is five hundred potential customers gained from one mistake. You can't buy advertising like that. And it is much preferred this way than the way that others have come here acting, such as Dolomite's thread about someplace I have forgotten the name of other than the fact I won't shop there, or the Frontier debacle before that... The list goes on, but this is a shop I will remember fondly.

Same here. I did an Excel spreadsheet that even my wife approved of.

Yeah, you have fun with that. I will just use a real holster that offers retention and a covered trigger guard without stuffing anything up my barrel.

If the round doesn't go completely into battery, you can use the forward assist to force it into battery. Great in a do or die situation. Not so great in a range situation where it could create a catastrophic failure if there was a reason the round wouldn't go into battery. You of course could use your finger to push the bolt forward, as done with A1 slab side M16s, or rerack the bolt to cycle a new round.

Glock 19.

That is on the list as well. Bardstown is a little out of the way though, as I will be working by the airport. I really wanted to stay <30mi.

My wife asked that "Do we have to become horse people?"

Just take it off, mount the rail too it, then it would be just like a railed section. If you want to change the rail section, you have to take it apart.

Got to the range this morning. Just to function test. One magazine of 62gr Monarch .223 brass, one magazine 62gr Monarch .223 steel. 25yd, all shots on the 12" target, nice group all to the lower right, about 6" group with the brass, the steel was about 10". I had one FTE with the steel cased, but it felt weak. No stoppage, so I finished the magazine without issue. Tossed all the shells about six feet at 5 o'clock.

Yup.All the furniture on that is Magpul MOE. It bumped the price of the build up a little, but I am very satisfied with it. That build I posted is all PSA. I have a thread about it. Before mags and ammo I have $750 in that, including the MBUS, shipping and transfer.

Glad you enjoyed it. Tennessee is about the best place on earth in my opinion. I am dreading leaving it.

I have labeled them for you. For the common user, these are not necessary pieces. I have no opinion on it. If I had not gotten into building my own, I would buy the Sport any day of the week.

Yes. Any attachable carry handle will fit.

I have been talking to several of the folks that work out of our Louisville office, they suggest Oldham County, and if I can't afford that, Bullit County with Shepardsville being the most highly suggested.

The job is mine. I am due to be there the first of April. Technically the second of April. The wife has been packing all week. We are looking at Shelbyville and Shepardsville. We don't want to be in town, but we don't want to be more than thirty minutes out of town. I can't seem to find a Kentucky version of here, so I have a feeling I will still hang out. I have kinda grown fond of the place.

I think it is $40 now. I can't remember exactly, but I am pretty sure it was $40 when I renewed last year.Norris is the bee's knees. It is pretty much the only range I go to unless I am taking a new shooter out and they want to rent something I don't own. Matter of fact, I am headed up there tomorrow morning to put my new AR through it's paces, as it is the only day I can sneak away before the move.

All interstate firearms purchases require an FFL, longgun or handgun. Private interstate sales are illegal. Even if you purchase a handgun at an FFL out of state, it still has to be shipped to an FFL in your home state for transfer before you can take possession. You can buy a rifle (depending on the state) from an FFL and take possession then.

I have their first album, a buddy bought it for me. I love it. I like that they have the classic heavy metal sound, almost bordering on hair metal. Lizzie's voice is so awesome for screaming and singing. The lyrics are unapologetic and heavily laden with innuendo, just as heavy metal should be. They have a new single out I heard the other day, I look forward to getting their new album.
