  1. Dawn and Fawn had been mentioned a handful of times. Last season when she showed up Tig handed $12k without batting an eye. Knowing that if he gave it to her, she would come back, and he would see her again. Sure, now we know why she was introduced into the show at the time. If this Pope guy is as powerful and cutthroat as they make him, killing the daughter of the man that killed his daughter seems right up the alley of what modern television/movies would have us believe that a powerful member of organized crime would do. I don't think they are just now introducing Pope as a new gang, I think Pope is affiliated with the One Niners in the same sense that the IRA is affiliated with Samcro. However, in that thought, I am interested in how they are going to play out Nero, or as Gemma called him, the Mexican Pimp. If he is an equal to Pope (and through allusion, the IRA, or the Cartel) I don't see him being in the sidelines as long as this. Then again, the whole gig of this season could be how Samcro just went from small time gun running to the big time and they need to learn to keep up with the real movers and shakers of the west coast now. And unrelated to that discussion, did anyone notice the peg leg in the last scene? Was that one of the Nomads? Didn't Jax call one of them Peg Leg when they were voting them in?
  2. The scene with Dawn. I have a daughter. I couldn't watch it. I felt the pain between both men. Tig being my favorite made it worse.
  3. Wow. I couldn't watch. I had to get up and leave the room. Pope is going to be an interesting bad guy.
  4. Tig, Chibs and Opie are my favorite characters. Followed by Gemma and amazingly enough, Tara. I couldn't stand Tara until last season. I didn't like Juice either (I felt that Half Sack was the better character, and Juice should have died, creative differences aside.) Juice had a good run last season. I like Unser, this new sheriff, Roosevelt, I like him. The ADA last season, now that was one wicked cat, my favorite antagonist of them all. I like Bobby Elvis too, I hope he isn't being written out of the show. That is one thing I like about SOA, it took several really good character actors (Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates, Mark Boone Jr...) and put them in strong roles. I think one of the things that makes it so strong is the characters, the ensemble cast. Several of us admit to disliking the main protagonist, yet we still follow the show religiously. That says something.
  5. I think it is a brilliant idea. My wife doesn't agree, but for 24 bricks of bacon, I would be willing to let him crash on my couch. I mean, c'mon, it is bacon.
  6. Tig, Raylan and Daryl. I know I am in the minority here, but Jax is my least favorite character. Tig is just unstable enough to make him fun.
  7. This is one of three shows that I watch. The Walking Dead and Justified being the other two. I am about half and half on Breaking Bad, but I did catch this past season. Sons of Anarchy has had me from the first episode. I just want to know if Opie showed up.
  8. Can't wait for 10pm. The way last season ended, it is going to be an interesting episode tonight.
  9. I have always gotten great service at Elliot's. I have a couple of nice pair of boots from them. I am a pointed toe guy.
  10. I wouldn't mind the LCR in .22LR. The SP101 comes in .22LR as well. IMO Ruger has the widest selection of reliable and rugged handguns on the market today.
  11. Plenty of .22 centerfire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5_mm_caliber
  12. It was interesting. I didn't see the Walt/Jesse/Skylar thing coming there before the end. I think they keep trying to push us to hate Walt, then reign him back in enough to show he is human. I think what they are trying to show is that while Walt and Heisenberg are the same person, they are two sides of the same coin, a Jekyll and Hyde if you will. Actually, I think that is the exact allusion. I really didn't see him wanting out. I guess that is why I didn't see that coming. Then Hank at the end. I am interested to see where that goes.
  13. Awesomeness.
  14. I have a Mora Clipper I piked up at SMKW a year or so ago. I think it was like $11. Had the carbon blade, identical to the one Xring posted. I have used it as a general purpose beat around knife ever since. It hasn't let me down, and I kind of wish I had bought two, just because. Mine has a forced patina (I stuck it in an apple for an afternoon) and holds an edge as good as the day it came home. If I had any complaints, it would be the plastic sheath, but it does what it needs to do. I wouldn't mind a custom leather sheath for it though. My opinion, I don't think you can find a better knife for the same price, even if you fudge the numbers a good percentage.
  15. Yeah, reclaimed wood is big. There is the whole ecological hippy style that goes with the thinking, then there is the line of thought of how nice the weathered wood looks. I have never had a pole barn built for me, but I have built two or three when I was younger. I don't swing a hammer anymore for pay, so I don't have any suggestions.
  16. Browning Hi-Power. Walther P-38. Glock 17.
  17. Reddot, yes.BX25s, no. But CCA had them last time I looked (months ago.)
  18. I can see it being pretty big up here in Kentucky. I can also see it being a really useful skill to have. Not just the ability to make horse shoes, or to shoe a horse, but the ability to craft items out of raw metal. I am king of envious. As for making you rich, I don't know, but from what I know of you, I think it will make you happy.
  19. I have used PSA for my builds. I got them when they were on sale, $57 shipped, $70 transferred and TICs.
  20. One thing is for certain, I never stayed close to home when Momma was cleaning them.
  21. I love me some collard greens and chitterlings. I grew up on good soul food.
  22. My two main pistols are a G19 and a Jericho. So that kinda falls into the G17 and CZ75. I love my Glock, it is an easy shooting, cheap to feed, reliable, easy to accessorize and trustworthy companion. I can't picture life without it. My Jericho is the exotic, heavy, accurate, easy to live with hard to shop for mistress that I feel guilty for spending more time with. I am a 9mm person. I don't like to stock or buy other pistol ammunition. So I like to limit my choices to things that will eat from the same bowl. I don't have a 1911, and never have. They are nice, good shooting pistols, but they are a rare bird in 9mm. Sure, they are becoming more common, and the RIA have a good rep, so maybe, somewhere down the road, one will find it's way into my brood. A Glock is a Glock, but I am also one of those Kool-Aid drinkers that think anything other than a 9mm Glock is akin to the blasphemy of a 1911 in anything other than .45ACP (see the irony there?) Thus the Glock 17 is one of the choices I would be making of your four. The only other one that tickles my fancy would be the Beretta. Once upon a time I was not a fan of the slide mounted safety/decocker, but my Jericho made me rethink my stance on that, which warms me back up to the Beretta. It has a good record and a solid fanbase, and as such, one of those may find it's way into my brood as well. So, to interject my opinion, I would narrow your choices down to and in this order: 9mm Glock (17 for a range plinker, 19 for a plinker/carry piece) 9mm CZ75 or Clone (Tanfoglio, Sphinx, Jericho, etc...) 9mm Beretta 92 variant 9mm 1911 clone Of course, I am biased and I am not afraid to admit that.
  23. Well it is obvious in this case that the police sure as hell didn't protect...
  24. First, let me preface this by stating that I am a Toyota Faithful. I am also a Ford fan. I have been driving my heavily modified Celica for twelve or so years. Granted, it isn't stock, or anywhere near it anymore, but that isn't the point. I have owned a half dozen or so Toyotas, Mainly Celicas and Corollas of various years. Last time I checked the Corolla was the best selling car in the world. You don't get there for free. Toyotas are a great car, last forever and retain their resale value better than most of the others out there. Kudos to getting a smaller car which is more efficient, but you have to take into account that it is a smaller car. We are a family of three, our daughter is six. Using my Celica (2 door) is a nightmare for all of us. We fit, and we are mostly comfortable, but crawling in and out is not fun. Hell, just me crawling in and out isn't fun. I am 6' at 180. I do have plenty of room once inside though. I have had the same problem with my Corollas. If I get into the car at the same time as someone else (using my wife as an example...) we have been known to knock heads. Quite literally. Now, the later Corollas are a bit larger, more powerful and equally fuel efficient. So that might not be a problem. We have an Explorer as our family vehicle (comparable to your Patriot) and we all ride very well, with plenty of room to spare. We are currently looking to add another car to the stable for my wife to drive that gets better fuel economy. We have been through the motions, read the reviews and at the end of the day (Blue Oval loyalty aside) we are leaning most heavily toward a Focus. The Focus hatch as more room than any Corolla I have owned (except the wagon that my wife HATED) and rates as highly as the Corolla in all reviews I have read. It also rates higher than anything made with a Bowtie or a Pentastar too. We all have enough room to be comfortable, and it nearly doubles the fuel economy of the truck (what we call Penelope the Pig, since she is an Explorer that was still based on a frame...) We will be keeping the truck, as it has a lot of good uses, and is 4WD. I will be keeping Chaos, my Celica. But we will add the Focus as a third car for my wife to run her errands and drive back and forth to work. I was really hoping to sway her toward a Fusion (the 2013s just look awesome) but she wouldn't have it. All said, a Toyota isn't a bad choice at all, just make sure you all fit.
  25. They don't. All they can do is ask you to leave. There are a whole bunch of things different in idea up here. Such as an employer can't prevent you from keeping it in your car, etc... I don't know the whole story. I do know from one of the local boards that LMP (Louisville Metro Police) do have a habit of not understanding that open carry is legal. There are several anecdotes of folks that have been harassed and eventually allowed to continue on their way. This is the first time I have heard of an arrest though. I have mixed feelings about it. I prefer to conceal, but there are times that I will open carry. Going out and looking for trouble with the law is not my cup of tea. Like I said, I don't know the whole story, and we should all know by now not to trust everything the media says. They are staging a rally for him this weekend. Folks are going to open carry past the police station and head on down to Arby's. I am thinking about attending, but my wife is concerned that some folks might start trouble. So I am not sure. I don't think I would be carrying, just for argument's sake.
