  1. Ducktown, Turtletown, Copper Basin, Farner, Coker Creek. That whole lovely area. You don't get much more backwoods then deep in them there mountains. I have kinfolk up there that still don't have indoor plumbing or lights.
  2. The first time I watched an interview with Andrew Lincoln I was appalled, that wasn't Rick's voice!
  3. They had t-shirts with this on it at machine gun shoot this weekend.
  4. I am glad I am not the only one who thought that.
  5. Good thinking Rick, I knew that was what had to happen, Rick won't lose his hand it seems, as the leg made up for it. That was a good way to start the season.
  6. Fifteen minutes, I am stoked.
  7. Yeah, it is coming back, should be around Feb. After The Walking Dead is over this season. That is how I tell the seasons. There is Sons of Anarchy, Walking Dead, Justified, then nothing on TV for like six months...
  8. While I was heavily creeped out by Boyd's new look, Tig had me busting at the seams the whole time. It is interesting to see Jax's business sense and long term for the club.
  9. The problem with EVs is that battery technology isn't there. It should be, but it isn't. Most EVs have less than 200 mile range, and off of a solar panel setup they would take nearly a week to recharge. However, for skirmish/raiding tactics, that would be perfect in a PAW. EVs and Diesel are two viable options, as producing your own vegetable oil would be slightly easier (though less fun) that producing alcohol for your gas burner.
  10. I followed a thread of his for a while. Not only did he drop it out of an airplane, he threw it off the roof of his house onto his concrete driveway. Shot it with a .22LR, buried it in a mixture of baby powder and water...That was the single thing that caused me to get past my distaste for Plastic Austrian Bricks. I figured if a Glock could take all of that and still work, then I had no worries of carrying one.
  11. I can offer you my thoughts and hopes from the distance.
  12. Now I have seen that at Academy too. They had the Ruger 10/22 Carbine listed at $190 on their site, but $197 on the shelf. They told me that they don't price match their website. So I payed $197 for it.
  13. I am impressed with Israel. I am not a religious person, so I have no opinions on Israel regarding religion, or any sort. I like their history, they way they continue on living regardless of anyone else's opinion. I like the way they handle things. I am also fascinated with their weapons, which is in no small part the reason I carry a Jericho compact. I guess it is kind of complicated to have a modern capitalist society in the middle of a country that has always been at war on it's own turf. Which is why you see teachers carrying rifles, or chicks at the beach in bikinis with an M16 slung across their back...
  14. Jericho was the much better show.
  15. One of the rules around my house is to give something three chances before you make a solid decision. I won't buy an album from a new artist until I have heard at least three songs off of it. I will take at least three bits of something before I say it isn't fit to eat (sour milk is an exception...) So I was impressed with last night's episode. It doesn't make up for the lack of prowess of the first two episodes, but it does develop the characters a little more, and make them more palatable. I guess I will watch the fourth episode...
  16. I like it. I think Berettas are a beautiful gun. Never shot one though.
  17. Being a sucker for Israeli designs... I like it.
  18. I saw something about this on Spike a few years ago, I think it was one 1000 Ways to Die or something similar.
  19. I guess he took Opie's death pretty hard...
  20. Yeah, I can't buy it. The dead mother who is now being held captive. The Uncle who just happens to be the bad guy's best friend. The imaginary faraday cage that now encompasses the world, except for the little necklaces. The fact that the father was in on the conspiracy, but he never built a computer and joined the private chat that the others did. The naive Katniss Everdeen clone that won't let her uncle kill a bounty hunter, but can suddenly kill a warden in cold blood. Then there is the whole American Flag/Rebels thing and the outlawing of guns. Sure, that is nice. But all in all that is all I can take away, and then even then the premise of the 'militia' suddenly overriding everything else... Nope. It is The Postman, Falling Skies, The Walking Dead, Flash Forward and The Hunger Games all rolled into one plot that is supposedly viewing gold. I am not sure I will make it through the third episode.
  21. Yeah, I got a little diploma paper thing with a carbon copy beneath it at the time of completion. I haven't made it to page two yet, but I assume you got took for a ride and your course wasn't the state required course as it was advertised to be? <And now I am caught up,> Yeah, I gotcha. I took my class through a reputable (in not well thought of) shop in Knoxville. Cost me $90, about 15 of us in the class. Not trying to be mean, just trying to play the Devil's Advocate here, but did you do any research on them before you signed up? To be honest, I would consider the money gone, and I would be calling anyone at the THP that would listen to me.
  22. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  23. Most anything that isn't a Colt, Ruger or Smith is an Uberti or Pietta with a different name on it. There are a few other names as well, Freedom Arms comes to mind, but you are getting rather expensive at that point. I have heard good things about the Italian guns. I think you can pick up a Uberti for $350 with a little searching.
  24. I bought a bunch of stuff from PSA right when they were becoming big. Several different orders spread over a six month period. Top notch, good stuff, I had good service all throughout. We handled everything by email, same way my FFL handled it, and I was pleased through the whole transaction. One of my ARs is a complete PSA build other than the MOE furniture. Couple thousand rounds through it and not a hitch. Accurate, tight and a joy to shoot. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
