1. Good read.
2. That looks promising.
3. Michael Rooker is a great character actor. With some of the shows on TV now, it is nice to see some movie character actors getting quality roles and becoming known. Sons of Anarchy and Justified are two that come to mind.
4.
I do not care for kids toy guns for gun owning parents at a young age so there is no confusion between a toy and the real thing, and so there are no bad habits from shooting each other with nerf projectiles etc. Once old enough to understand the difference, the toys are OK, but at age 3 or 4? They could think the real thing is a toy...!!!
My wife's family doesn't get it. My daughter is a tomboy from hell, so they made a smart remark about getting her toy guns for Christmas, as they feel she should be a little lady. My wife (a former liberal) explained that we don't allow toy guns in the house. It was a priceless explanation when my wife explained to her family that our daughter had her own rifle, and we had taken great pains to teach her how to use it and what it could do. We did not want a toy gun in the house to disrupt all of that. I know that is not a popular move, even among gun folks, but it has worked. My daughter doesn't even eyeball toy guns in the store, but she will stare longingly at pink stocked rifles and tell me how badly she wishes her rifle were pink.
5. My daughter has been around guns her entire life. I carry my Glock 19 in a Bladetech IWB holster. Holds it fine, never had an issue. My daughter has been raised not to touch. She is six now, and it has never been an issue. It is not that I leave them laying on the coffee table, but they are around. She also goes to the range and shoots with her own rifle, has since she was about four or so. It was always a fun afternoon to have her help me load magazines as well. The most important part is to make sure she knows what to do around guns. Hiding them and acting like they are taboo is not how you go about it. Then the gun has a mystique and she will want to play with it. Take the mystique away. Show her what it is, and take her own and show her what it can do. When she is old enough of course. The only 'incident' we have ever had was several years ago, she was around three at the time, she was holding my hand in line at Walmart. She was swinging around and having a good time. She slammed into my hip and smacked her head on my gun. She screamed at the top of her voice "Daddy, your gun hit me on my head!" Seems it scared the woman in line behind me bad enough she had to pick another line.
6.
You should insist that the complex management make to towing phone call. It's their rule to enforce and keeps you out of the line of fire from your neighbor. The beef should remain between them and the management. Not you.
Yeah, make them be the bad guy, not you. That is not the kind of retaliation you want to deal with.
7.
My wife always says I drive like a grandpa. I know some of you on here are grandfathers, so please don't take offense. I will preface this by saying that I have not been one much for speeding, but I have found the best way to have hassle free interstate driving. I just set my cruise about 3-4 mph below the speed limit and park it in the right lane. I rarely have to pass, and I just let all the people in a hurry, blast around me on the left. It makes things a breeze when you don't have to worry about merging in and out with people at different speeds.
When I have the brood with me, that is how I do it. I don't need cruise though. I am one of those rare folks that can pick a speed and stick to it. Which is nice since my daily doesn't have cruise. And I don't have patience.
8. Tanfoglio Witness. For reference, I have a Jericho Compact, and the top of the magazine is identical. Tanfoglio is an Italian maker, Mecgar was a parts supplier for them.
9. It takes the better part of 20 years or more. When folks no longer ask you where you come from, or where you lived before, you are on the right path. The stickler in this conversation is the whole California bit. Unfortunately there is a stigma that comes from that. I ain't never met a normal Californian.
10. I want one.
11. I hate folks like that. When I was 18 I had a pretty little Mustang. My first car. This was way back in the days before insurance was mandatory in the state of Tennessee. I was making a left hand turn. There was oncoming traffic, so I stopped, waited and then BAM! I was hit from behind, shoved off the road and into a ditch. The car that hit me took off like a bat out of hell. Sheriff's Deputy showed up and took my report. We got to the part where I had no insurance and he told me in a rather stern tone that it would be in my best interest to get insurance. Then he also told me it would be in my best interest to forget the whole incident as there wasn't much could be done on a hit and run, and if the papers were filed, odds were good the state would get me for damage to the tree I hit. My stepfather agreed with him and we tore up all the papers. Three days later my stepdad got a call, they found out who hit me. It was a very valuable lesson in how things work. Both in Monroe County and the world.
12. I have two threads going about this to keep up with, so I will just copy/paste my opinion from my other thread.
I haz givenz DiG a twelve hour grace period. So. Who is the villain here? So I was sure that Philip was going to cross the line last night with Maggie and show us that he was in fact the bad guy. But once again, he stopped just shy of being a villain. What he did was uncouth, but it was a demoralizing tactic used to extract information, which just happened to work. Then on the flip side of it all, Rick and his group of Merry Marauders go to visit some old hermit, then stab him and throw him still alive to the walkers. Would you like some KFC with that? WTF? Even Oscar stood back and thought to his self "Damn, these folks be crazy." The ####ing inmate. He had scruples about breaking into homeboys house, and killing him. And through all of this we are supposed to affiliate Philip as the villian? Who is the judge here? Michonne? The weakest character of the season who squandered her first half of the season with poor writing and brooding over the death of her friends?
13. Cat didn't deserve to die, but he was playing a stupid game, and we all know that is a good way to win stupid prizes. I have a friend who works loss prevention. He got somewhere upwards of twenty stitches from a shoplifter who used a box cutter to try and slice his throat when he was confronted. I don't have pity on them.
14.
Brought to you by KFC...
WTF? How long have they been waiting for a scene like that to pitch us some food?
15. I kinda like it.
16. I made my mind up a long time ago about getting the same stock. I just need to get it now.
17. All three of my regular haunts (Walmart, Rural King and the LGS) are stocked up on Ammo just like before. All common pistol and rifle calibers. I haven't noticed a difference.
18. Someone having an ID-Ten-T error?
19. The phonecalls were just in his head. They are his link with those he has lost. It will help him cope, even if it is unhealthy. I don't like Andrea. Never have, still don't. I think Glenn and Maggie could have handled Merle better. Either shot him, or talked him down. After all, who hasn't had a gun on them in the ZPAW? Then again, Glenn spent a considerable amount of time with Merle before Rick showed up, so maybe he would have been justified to shoot him. I really wish they would quit with the moral cloudiness of the Governor and show him as evil. Right now I feel that they have shown him as an opportunist, but not clearly as evil. Similar to Rick with a bit more selfishness. I think the coming episodes will solve that issue. Please, can Michonne stop being a whiny character who is there for nothing more than appearance? She has bothered me this entire season. She has so much potential to be a hard ass like Daryl, yet they just show her being a whiny cross between Lori and Andrea. The scene where she shows up with the formula is pretty powerful and I feel it was her best scene yet. Carol! I knew she wasn't dead. I wonder where her character goes with Daryl? They have bordered on the romance, yet they have steered away from it many times as well. I wonder if it has to do with waiting on another character to come along, or if they just want to show Daryl as being too hard to love? Even though they have clearly shown he has emotions and feeling for Carol (including a deleted scene when he and Maggie went for formula.) And I kind of liked Carl's conversation with Daryl. "Yeah, your drunk mother burnt herself alive, I shot my mother. What now?" He has an interesting character, he and the baby both as they are first generation zombie kids. They won't really remember the world before the ZPAW, and survival is all they will know.
20. I am fond of a hand held steamer. I bought one just for milsurp items. Melts the stuff right off. I use a big plastic tote from Walmart and just start at the muzzle and work my way down.
21. I don't care for camo rifles, but that does look good. I might have to rethink my stance.
22. Yeah, I don't think I have ever been to a turkey shoot where you could use optics. To be honest, I don't quite think it is sporting.
23. If it don't come out of a box or a can, I don't eat it. Cause my wife don't know how to cook it. That isn't fair though. She can burn just about anything. I grew up on everything. If it moved, we ate it when it stopped. I remember one summer, my mom made up a mess of chitterlings, had my uncle over. He didn't have a clue what he was eating, but by gawd he was a eatin' em. Then he found out what they were. I don't think Ed ever came back over for dinner after that. It is all I can do now to get my wife to make me a mess of collards. Damn Yankees.
24. Gordon, I agreed with you when the link was still there. Posted as much. To the folks that feel that the issue WAS related to our 2nd Amendment Rights, you mean to tell me that in the wake of everything we try to do by the rules, you advocate giving criminals guns? I am appalled. This is a privately owned and operated forum. It can be operated however the owner feels it needs to be operated. It is not a democracy. Your opinion doesn't matter. While that is harsh, it is the way it is. I am however glad that this site is operated in such a manner as to make our opinions valid, but at the end of the day, they aren't required.
25.

The 33 rounder with the extension, what spring did you use, is it reliable? That fascinates me.
