Newest: She's only a V6 though.
-
I know we have some cats on here that see their car or truck as more than just a form of transport from point A to B. I am one of such. I have been driving, tuning, beating and repairing a twenty plus year old Toyota Celica for about fifteen years now. She is ugly. She is mean. She blew her shiny bits into an oily coolant soaked mess last night down KY60 as I was coming home. It isn't the first time she has done this, probably won't be the last. She is an mean little cur. So, after my promotion, and my relocation, I am putting 70 miles a day on her. She was 500 miles shy of 250k last night. I was crushed, but my wife has been trying to convince me it is time to move her to project only status and buy something else to drive. Last night was the final straw. I set out this morning on a mission. That mission ended at Oxmoor Ford in Louisville, and involved a deal on a 2013 Pony I just could not say no to. Base model, V6, no options other than the spoiler and the automatic, so my wife can drive it. It was exactly what I wanted. She had less than ten miles on her, six of which were from my test drive. I am gonna miss Chaos, but she will be back, faster, stronger than before, and without having to worry about daily driver status.

Got to love stupid people. -
I've got the tent.

I always liked Heat a lot. Rumor has it that they show the street shootout to soldiers for a proper urban tactical retreat.

I got an M48 a while back. I like it. I haven't used it for anything, and I have only found one review of anyone that used it for something. He was fine with it after he broke the upper tip. I like it, and for the price it is fun.

But even with the magic of editing you made her look like a complete maroon that didn't have any training or reason to be shooting birds out of the sky at random with a gun that was too big for her. Doesn't matter if the folks there were with you or not, that is pretty much the exact reason I dread going to public ranges.
-
Looked that way to me. Also didn't even look like she was aiming, just throwing lead down the range. I would be rather upset if I was paying hourly for range time, and I was unable to use it because someone wanted to shoot down range preventing me from shooting.

I went wandering into my local LGS this morning. Nice little mom and pop up here that my wife found for me not long after we moved to town. Since I have been here, I have lost count of the money I have spent in there, but it has been a lot. The gentleman and his wife that own and run the place are good salt of the earth folks. Nice as can be and always friendly. The day after the Newtown tragedy I went in to see Larry, and look at a pistol for the wife. While I was there I bought the last two PMags he had, at $15 a piece. We talked for a bit and I went on. I am not one to fall into the whole pricing war lately, I see both side's points, though I firmly fall to another, though it doesn't make my stomach easy. I guess since I am not selling, or buying, it is easier for me to stand on the outside and be glad I don't have a horse in the race. I had everything I wanted before this all went down. Don't plan on selling any of it either. So I went into Larry's shop today to see how things were going and I couldn't help but notice, his prices were only up about 10% from two weeks ago. Sure, he was wiped out of anything that didn't have a bolt or a revolving cylinder, but his prices were well within reason of what they should have been. I bought a couple of boxes of ammo, .223 flavored, at a 10% markup. Smiled the whole time. His wife rang me up, and the total came to about half of what it should have. So I asked her, did you forget to ring up the other box? We all got a good laugh out of it, and it reminded me why I like shopping there. The point is, there are still good people out there trying to do business. And like Larry told me, shipments are few and far between now. Doesn't really matter what price you put on it, it is gonna sell.

But what would be the point in living?

If you buy them, are you taxed for goods or services?

It was a $40 guitar to start with.
-
Yeah, it is just a really cheap acoustic guitar. I didn't feel like dropping a large chunk on buying a three year old a guitar. It was still a hard deal dropping $150, but for what I got, I didn't feel too bad, and it will last her a while. Odds are good that I will invest in more instruments in the future if we both progress and enjoy it. A hobby ain't worth having if it isn't expensive.

Yeah, I was never really skilled enough with a guitfiddle to justify anything expensive. I can sit around and look at all the pretty ones, but they all sound the same in my hands. Which isn't good. I will have to admit, that when I was tuning and noodling on my daughter's Squier, it had a much faster neck and just felt better than the Epiphone. That was really the first time I had ever noticed a difference. Which again, shows my lack of experience.

Many many years ago (don't ask for an exact number, haters) I had dreams of being a rock star. I bought a guitar, and learned a few chords. There were a handful of us back in them there woods, and well, everyone wanted to play guitar, and well, you can't have a band with five guitar players. So a buddy of mine decided he would play bass, and I bought a set of drums. This is pretty much how it went for a good handful of years. I played drums, and after a while I started playing bass as well (seems bass players are rare as hen's teeth.) After a handful of years had passed by, and one day I realized that while I enjoyed playing in a band, we really weren't going anywhere, and I was in a dead end town. I have told my story a time or two, and being in a band was not enough to keep me on that track, and to be honest, I don't think the two were mutually exclusive. I haven't touched a musical instrument in fifteen years or so. I have an old Epiphone Les Paul in my closet, and that is where it has set. A couple of years ago, my daughter wanted a guitar, so for Christmas we got her a little acoustic starter guitar. She plinked around on it for a while then dismissed it. Well a handful of months ago, she dug it out of the closet and it has gone everywhere with her. She made up her mind, she wants to be a rockstar. Last week, I came home, and she had stripped a tuning peg and broken the headstock, making repair nearly impossible. She was crushed. The end of the world. And the Mayans saw it coming. So in her fit, she somehow remembered Daddy had a guitar in the closet. And out it came. She fell in love with it, and made her mind up, she had to have an electric guitar, and it had to be red. The journey began. And it was filled with adventure. In the end, it resulted in a Squier Affinity HSS starter pack for almost a third of retail. That was pretty awesome. She rather enjoyed Christmas. And I have too. It grabbed a set of strings, and tuned up my old Les Paul, and started teaching my daughter the very limited things I remember from twenty years ago. I guess I am going to look into some lessons for her, I am thinking piano, and then grabbing more learning material for the guitfiddle for myself to learn, and her to translate. It has been a really good day.

I ran into the same problem with Academy. They told me they won't price match the internet.

Cannot, Can't and Can Not are all the same. The difference you were looking for was May Not. -
Now, I haven't watched the video, but I have to ask, what makes the separation of a husband and a wife cause either of them to be any less of parents? Sure, sometimes one parent of the other vanishes, but not always. I just find that to be a very ignorant statement. Again, that is said before watching the video, so if there is something in the video that makes it obvious he was a nutjob, I am sorry.

Cheap ones are cheap. Good ones are expensive. I have bought several through Airsplat. Basically anything under $100 is hit or miss.

When is it going to be OK to sale mags, ammo, and ARs for the going rate?
Murgatroy replied to swim615's topic in General Chat
That is my main thought on all of this. I have plenty of stuff that I don't have an immediate need for, but I didn't buy it to take up space. If that makes sense. I can't think of anything I am willing to part with to make a quick buck, at the risk of kicking myself in the future for not having it. -
question, answer please...(gun shop buying from wal-mart)

Not illegal. Immoral, but not illegal. -
I got the same email. Interesting stuff.

I stopped by my LGS Saturday. Grabbed a handful of PMags at $14.97 a pop. I cleaned him out of the black ones.
