JDM engines are cheaper than a rebuild. With Japanese engines and the tolerances they run, I have had better experience with buying a low mileage JDM engine (they junk the cars around 40K for tax reasons) than with rebuilding. Most folks buy an engine from eBay and have it shipped, or one of the many dealers on the internet. I don't know of any one local that deals in them.

Yeah, Knoxville may be a "large metropolitan police department" but Glock is a major corporation. Their lawyers are going to have a field day with this. If they wanted new guns, they should have said so, doing this was shady and backhanded, it will come back to bite the new CLEO.

The cast is superb. The writing is great. FX is really at the top of the heap right now IMO. Right now I am torn between the cold ruthlessness of Elizabeth or the smooth calculation of Stan for a favorite character. That Stan had them pegged the first time he met them. That is good. I don't think it is so much as rooting for the enemy (it is) as it is hoping that they will turn. But you are right, the last episode, over the codes, I was worried they were going to get caught, at the upper level, I knew Elizabeth and Philip were fine, it was the Resident and his contact. Then there is Nina. I like Nina, but she is not long for the show. I am hoping Stan doesn't do something stupid to save her.

Cool, I didn't want to come of as an arse. Computers aren't fun. I miss the old days of tuning your jets from pulling your plugs, not hooking up a computer and monitoring your A/F. I agree that it is harder to be a shadetree mechanic these days, but I doubt it is going away. Even with all the computers, we are finding ways to hack and tune. When I first got into imports I was very intimidated by all the wiring, the sensors and so forth. After a few years, you just learn to adapt. A lot of guys are just going to aftermarket standalone ECUs that can read the stock sensor, then be modified. It is fascinating. The big difference today though, once you start hacking, your reliability is gone. When you were just swapping jets and twisting a distributor to adjust timing it was easy. Now you have to pull half the engine apart and run adjustable cam gears and modify your mechanical timing for advance or retard. Sure, coil packs are nice, but man, I long for the good old days.

I appreciate a proffessional mechanic's input, and I value them in society. However, as a very experienced shadetree mechanic, I don't always do things the 'right' way. Doesn't mean it doesn't work. I hate rebuilding an engine in the vehicle, I did a poor man bearing replacement like that once, I will never do it again.

Even if the ring is cooked, it doesn't mean it is broken. There is an old trick of dropping some Borax into the cylinders to score the walls and reseat the rings. It has worked for me in the past. It is not something I suggest on a healthy engine mind you, but if you are knocking, it might seal enough to not waste all your oil through blowby on your drive home. For example, when I dropped my latest engine into Chaos, my Celica, I started going through oil at a fair bit, about a quart a tank. The rings were burnt, but I never lost power. The compression was a little low, but still enough to keep the car going for another 30k. Eventually it led to catastrophic failure, but like I said, I got 30k out of it.

Sounds like a cooked ring, if he ran it too low, odds are good you have wristpin knock or rodknock. You sound like you have a clue, so I won't bore you, I will just confirm what you already suspect. B16s can run for a while with knock, when they fail, it will be catastrophic, but it could be a year from now. JDM swaps in a Honda are cake, which is why everyone hates on them. They are plug and play, unlike Toyota or Nissan. It shouldn't be hard to find one shipped, but there is a shop on Middlebrook (last I checked) just behind the Burger King. They could get you an engine.
-
That was part of the point I was getting at. Plus, I have always liked Rodman. Even if he is eccentric.
-
Gotcha, sorry I can't help more.

Why can't you grind it? If it is hollow grind from the inside to let it fit deeper on the stock.

I have no personal experience with a Bersa, though I have a good friend who owns several and swears by them. It is my understanding they are a well kept secret of an undervalued gun, similar to CZs. I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up. I keep going down to Bud's to see if they will get on in .32ACP, but I won't order it, cause then I would have to buy it, instead playing dumb when it followed me home. The Bersa is considered a PPK clone.
-
I hear good things about the Ruger SR22. I was all about them until I held one in my hand. I didn't try the different grips, but it felt too small to me. Bersa makes a .22 similar to a PPK, then there is always the Walther P22.

I had a Mossberg bolt action .22WMR, fed from Savage mags best I can remember. I am pretty sure it was a Chuckster or something. It was a very nice and accurate rifle. I would have kept it, but someone wanted it more than I did and had something I wanted.

Been a few years, the names have changed, but still as funny as ever.

I hope they become friends, and Rodman visits often, eventually bringing Kim Jong Un back to the States to hang out, they put away this silly America is the enemy notion, enter into successful negotiations and we come away peaceful friends. And I hope Rodman gets the Nobel Peace Prize on account of it.
-
I hope he gets raise. He will probably get fired.
-
If i could find them in stock, I would buy some just to show my support. As it is though, they are all I use.

What if it is Shelby? I am certain of it after some thought. His wife left him 25 years ago (but why did he still have her clothes, that is a hole) and he is asking too many questions. I think he goes and kills the widow now. Since she could identify him. Then Raylan's aunt said that she last saw him rubbing elbows with the big wigs, which could mean a lawman, which Shelby was in the past.
-
Yeah. That sucked about Arlo. It was impressive the length he went to keep that secret though. I have a feeling that even though he is gone, his story is far from over. I don't know if they will make him a hero or something for keeping the secret, but I think it will affect Raylan.
-
Hot damn! That was by far some of the best action this season. Last episode and now this, I am loving Raylan shootin' again. "I sure hope I got that right."

It probably would have gone over better if you hadn't put their heads on miniature poles all around the bird feeders.

We were taught archery in school. Could you imagine the shitstorm that would cause today?
-
I like it, a lot.

I have a Baby Eagle/ Jericho, which was based on Tanfoglio parts originally. They are commonly well thought of CZ Clones. The rest of the world clones CZs the way the US clones 1911s.

Here is a crappy pic of Penelope the Pig hauling my project car Chaos. 2000 Ford Explorer. She is a good truck.
