If I hadn't met my wife and started a family all those years ago, I wouldn't think twice. I have always been up for an adventure, and this would definitely be one. Even if death is assured, your name would live on. Your legacy assured. Makes me think of the episode of Vikings the other day, the old white haired cat that wanted to raid. All of his friends had fallen in battle, and all this old cat wanted was to die with honor. What a way to go. Dying alone in my bed of old age doesn't sound bad, but going out in a spectacular fashion that stands a chance to further the human race more than we have in thousands of years... that is something. Plus, what if you survive? What if the trip is viable? Imagining being the first Warlord of Mars...

Looks good, makes me miss my AKs.

I moved to Kentucky over a year ago. There are a couple of Kentucky sites, but I only use them to browse the Classifieds. TGO is by far the best firearms enthusiast site I have ever found.

Eh, I want this bastard caught. Dead or alive is fine with me. If me allowing the police to come into my house, open all my closets and shine lights under my beds helps them catch him, c'mon in. If I tell them no, they can't come in without a warrant, they go get a warrant, and then they come in, open all my closets and shine lights under the bed. I just cost them valuable time, and considerable stress in a pretty bad situation and all it did was prevent the inevitable for an hour, maybe two. This is a stressful situation for everyone involved, those officers are looking for a terrorist. A killer who doesn't care about anything. They aren't jack booted thugs come to haul me off to an extermination camp for being a free thinker. Remember, the question was about this scenario. If the police showed up unannounced at my door tomorrow, without a valid reason, and wanted to come open all my closets and shine lights under my beds, yeah, I would ask for a warrant. But there isn't a terrorist running around my neighborhood throwing bombs at anyone with a badge. I think some of you might want to remember the circumstances in Boston right now.

I had an SGL-21 I bought here a few years back. I was fond of it, but it was too clean and pretty. I eventually sold it and bought a Romy Kit gun. The only issue I had was the magwell was too tight to fit Tapco mags. I know that is kind of a nonissue, but it was still something.

I knew there was something off about him. I vividly remember the last time.

While the 5.0 Coyote (2011+ Mustang) is still a modular engine, none of those parts are compatible with the older modular engines. It also makes 400+ horses. Even the V6 used since 2011 (3.7 Duratech) makes 300+ HP. However, you are spot on, it doesn't matter how much power he makes, the OP is still having to move a 5700lb vehicle.

I have never seen B5. Folks might laugh, given today's culture, but I grew up without watching television. We picked up one channel back in the woods (WATE/ABC) and I never got into watching television. I didn't even own a television of my own until I was in my mid to late 20's. It has only been the last five years or so that I have gotten into watching television.

The show was pretty good, the special effects sucked balls, but for a pilot, that is to be expected. Complex characters, DEEP backstory and some good one liners. Premise is complex, in 2013 a fleet of several million mixed alien races arrive at earth. Eventually a war breaks out, then the war stops. During the war (part of the cause) the earth is terraformed improperly, creating an alien planet for ALL races, alien and native. Story takes place in 2046, 33 years after the landing, 15 years after the war. There is a lot of intricacies to the history, but that is the premise. There is an MMO videogame that matches the movie. Pretty ambitious. I think I will give it a good shot.

Wikipedia lists the 4R100 and the 4R70W as the transmissions for that year.

His truck being an easy 1000+ lbs heavier probably already has the HD tranny, which again, would mean nothing hauling all of that extra weight.

To boost your truck, you are looking at MINIMUM $5k to have it done reliably. Cheap, reliable and fast. Pick two. You could go CAI, full exhaust and tune for 50WHP, that is noticeable, but you are still looking at $2k high end for brand new parts. To be honest, as a 2WD, the fastest and easiest way to get the butt dyno going would be to gear it. Put something like a 4.10 gear in the back, watch your mileage drop through the floor and have plenty of usable power. All for <$500 installed. However, the best advice, mentioned above, is something I give out on my automotive forum all the time. Sell it, and buy something that suits your needs better, or bite the bullet and dump lots of cash into it that you will never see again.

I have been using Virgin Mobile for well over a decade. I pay $25 a month (grandfathered, the new rate is $35) for 300 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited (throttled after 2.5GB) internet. You pay for your phone outright and just pay by the month. They have a fair selection of phones now, from feature phones all the way up to iPhones and Android. I think I dropped $100 on my phone (LG Optimus) and got my wife the same. They run on Sprint's network. To be honest, I don't see myself ever getting a contract phone and paying more. This setup has worked for me for many years.

I saw no less than 20 ARs in the rack at Cabela's today. No less than 1,000 rifles, several hundred pistols. Plenty of ammo to choose from, as long as it wasn't .22LR or 9mm. Things are getting back to normal.

SOB that was this weekend?!

Friday 6:30 am - Cabela's has .223 cheap right now $6.99/20 rds
Murgatroy replied to BigK's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
They have several shelves of this at their retail location in Louisville. I stocked up today. ~$.37 a round said and done. The only caliber they didn't have in stock was .22LR. If you felt like paying $1.50 a round, they had 9mm in 124gr Winchester SXT. But it was the only 9mm they had in stock. Plenty of .223 and x39mm. All steel case. LOTS of .308. -
Magazines are readily available in the $25 range. I am finding them in stock when I look, again this is a little known gem.

I am almost as concerned that a 4th grader wrote this in crayon as what he wrote. I am not even sure furious begins to describe my feelings.

Any Zippo lighter users here? Have a problem/need help.
Murgatroy replied to a topic in General Chat
For a BOB a Bic is much better than a Zippo. As you have discovered, the Zippo will evaporate. They need to be filled weekly, used or not. A Zippo is plain out and out for being stylish when you light up your stogie. There is no other use on the face of the earth that something else can't do better. They are poor screwdrivers, poor hammers, poor bullet stoppers, poor fist loads, but by god if you want to look cool lighting your cigarette, that distinctive *click* will let everyone in earshot know who the man is. Especially if it is beat up. I have been carrying this one for fifteen years or so, since my pa gave it to me. He passed away two years ago next week. -
The quality is good, it is just an unknown type around these parts. I have a Jericho, which is a CZ75 clone built originally with Tanfoglio parts. They are top notch guns. Basically in the states we are 1911 folks. All the other civilized nations used Browning Hipowers and CZ75s. The US doesn't believe in those. Thus the CZ75 sells low here, even though it is a top quality firearm. The clones are very similar. For a 40 year old design, I have heard more about it in the last two or three years than I have all my life. I personally think the CZ75 and variants/clones are the best SA/DA on the market. ESPECIALLY at their pricepoint. With that said, I prefer the full steel versions.

Reminds me of when I was a kid in highschool. You would have that one kid that wouldn't ever swing, but be would pump fake over an over hoping to get you to swing so he could cry foul. That is what DPRK is doing. Pretending to go through with it to make the US rain fire on all they hold dear. Then they will start crying wanting to know why we attacked them. Personally, I think it is time we remind the world that there is only one nation that has ever used nuclear weapons anger. With an example. I am pretty sure Iran would STFU too.

I could be down for that.

Gonna have to echo the Ford/Chevy sentiment. A Ford 300ci with a toploader will do whatever you want and there isn't a part on it that costs more than $20 or an hour to replace. A Chevy with a 350ci and TH350 is going to be the same. $20 and an hour. Stay away from anything later than `85 as they started getting electric dohickies on them. I prefer the 67-72 Ford the most, 73-79 next then the Chevrolet from 73-80. It is all aesthetics.
